"Great Illustration Catalog, But Author Rights Need Clarity"
3/5
What do you like best about StoryJumper?

There is a nice catalogue of easily inserted illustrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StoryJumper?

Exactly what can be read (i.e., how much of an individual book) and what rights (e.g., royalties if anY) an author has is unclear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"StoryJumper Review"
5/5
What do you like best about StoryJumper?

I was so excited when I discovered and tried this software. It's exactly what I've been looking for for my younger daughter! She enjoys writing stories independently and we also enjoy creating them together. This software brings creating a story/book to a whole other level! The software is amazingly simple to use and offers so many incredible tools and options - from custom characters and backgrounds to adding your voice, music and sound effects. Additionally, you can publish your finished product. I would highly recommend to a friend or colleagues! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StoryJumper?

There is absolutely nothing I dislike about this software. It exceeded any and all expectations! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Story Jumper for Students"
4.5/5
What do you like best about StoryJumper?

I love the templates which allow for guidance as well as the group storybook option which allows for collaboration among students. The publishing options are also very cool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StoryJumper?

I dislike how there are only a few props and scenes in the gallery and you have to import them one by one in order to add them to your gallery. There should be more built in to choose from or "themes" that can be imported that have a set of related scenes/props to make things more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Productive outcomes with student authors using this program. "
4/5
What do you like best about StoryJumper?

It encourages the students through the writing process; the ultimate reward is being able to literally put their voice to their creation. Makes it easier for students to see where their efforts will lead. Tangible, exciting reward for doing the work, and results in positive self-esteem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StoryJumper?

I would rewrite some of the reflection questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Creative Story Creator"
5/5
What do you like best about StoryJumper?

The thing I like best about Story Jumper is that it is comprehensive. It takes a potentially difficult thing and makes it easy for kids to do. Some kids who feel they lack the creative ability to draw can use Story Jumper to create exactly what they want. I've also used Story Jumper with kids who lack imaginative abilities and this helps to get their imaginations going. I also love the fact that it is a browser based program so if your school or facility has firewall protection you can probably still use it because it does not require you to download it and it would be easier to request permission from the administration for a website rather than for a software you need to download. So that adds convenience as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StoryJumper?

I dislike not being able to properly center items on the page, however this could be me coming from a graphic design standpoint. I'm used to being able to snap to the center of the page and even though I know this is a fun activity for kids some of them take it seriously and can get frustrated when its not perfect for their parents or their therapists or siblings etc. Also it would be nice to have text consistency. I noticed that if you chose a template you have to keep changing the text to the one you want. If you could chose the text in the beginning and then just use that it would be less time consuming. "Storyjumper is absolutely wonderful!"
5/5
What do you like best about StoryJumper?

Storyjumper is the perfect program for creating children's books! My high school students love working with the program because they can either use the graphics and scenery supplied or import images and/or photos from the internet or from their personal collection. Teachers can create a free account that has a temporary password for students and the site supplies individualized permission slips for each student so that his/her parent/guardian can sign and return in order for the student to have home access to the site. When in class, the teacher starts a time clock so that students can work on their creations. There are several pricing options for ordering completed books. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StoryJumper?

Since I am a World Language teacher, I would like it to have accents that can be inserted as students are writing their text. Text now has to be written in Word and copy and pasted into the book. A few free downloads without a watermark would also be nice. One has to open it in various browsers in order to see which one works the best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
