"Works just like the StackOverflow we all know and love with team-specific knowledge base"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

I feel myself answering the same questions over and over again in Slack. These questions (and their answers) are located in a central place that I can point team members to.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

It's not a problem with the service, but adoption is the biggest hurdle. I feel like people usually would rather ask questions in chat instead of going to an external site

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm saving myself time by answering a question once instead of over and over. This frees up time for me to work on other things besides supporting questions that I have already answered.

"An extremely valuable tool"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

So for teams is a special tool to share knowledge across the organization. It uses a familiar QA mechanism and interface (literally every developer has seen the "normal" stack overflow and has had some experience with it), so it is immediate to grasp and use right away.

In our organization it is widely used both to provide technical guides and to collect all common blockers in a single place.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

There are no actual downsides since it is already a familiar tool for every developer who uses it; the only thing that can go wrong is organization-specific usage and conventions. If your moderators have a real hands-on experience and familiarity with the community practices used on the public Stack Overflow and try to apply them, I can't see any significant issue.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were looking for a way to collect common issues and blockers that every developer encountered while working on our products and related technologies. We tried different tools such as Confluence, Wikis, Slack, Google Drive, but each one of these was ultimately incomplete or difficult to use and search.

Because every developer on earth is already proficient in searching and using Stack Overflow we tried the private version and were very pleased both in terms of adoption and developer happiness.

"A reward based knowledge base for your Company"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

After switching to teams, we saw an increase in documentation because of how easy it was to write questions & to search for answers. The top features we liked are,

* The Slack Integration: when someone posts a new question or answer, the Slack notification helps a lot & also allows for quick search within Slack

* The upvote reward system encourages people to document more

* Ability to ask questions to specific people

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

The UI / UX is entirely the same as the public StackOverflow, and sometimes this leads to confusion of which site the users are on.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Teams, we solved the problem of tribal knowledge. Teams helped us to decentralize the knowledge previously known to a single person. We realized the following benefits,

* Reduced number of everyday doubts in Slack channels

* Searchable history of how we tackled a problem earlier

* Teams served as an onboarding point for new members

"Best internet resource for How-To now applied to internal processes!"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

The product is incredibly easy to use as an end user (Teams Integration HUGE) and also as an administrator. The gamification of contribution is a great feature that drives engagement which is crucial to adoption and value.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

Not a huge deal, but would have very much liked to have the ability to restrict access to topics/categories by group without going to the full Enterprise license level.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using Stack Overflow currently for product, engineering, and support teams to request, receive, and catalog how-to information and documentation. It has been beneficial sofar in providing a single point of entry for such information.

"Amazing tool for the teams"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

It made working in the team so much easier. Before we were asking questions on slack between each other and all this knowledge was lost or hard to access. We improved our cooperation tons. And the introduction of the new team members takes half of the time it used to.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

No slack integration with private channels. That would make our life so much easier.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

I usually solve the problems of my team members. But it's good place to keep a track what needs improving in the team and help us choose the courses for the team.

"An excellent way to build an in house knowledge base"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

Everyone on the team is already familiar with the Stack Overflow interface and workflow, and it's precisely the same for teams. After being finely honed for many years now, it is certainly a tried and true way to ask questions and get answers. In other words, it just works.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

The private team is only a razors edge separated from the public site. Though it hasn't happened yet, it may be too easy to post a question publically by mistake. It may be better to have a separate subdomain or something.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's a great place to put team knowledge, and to point new employees during onboarding. We no longer have to repeat the same answers because Stack Overflow makes them so discoverable.

"Stack Overflow for Teams is an amazing tool"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

Stack Overflow for Teams is a very good tool, it combines the well-known Stack Overflow interface with an internal Q&A network. Being able to add co-workers to the questions for them to answer. The user limit of the free version of the app is quite large, which allows small businesses to use the app and all its features without the need for upgrades.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

I currently have no complaints from Stack Overflow for Teams. It serves its purpose very well and makes many resources available for free.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Many issues have already been fixed, the main current use of the application is documentation, it's been a wonderful tool to document the bugs and how they're being fixed.

"Teams on Stack Overflow a perfect way to engage with your team around their code"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

All features of stack Overflow are refined on a closed interface where you and your team can engage in the conversation about their code or any other topic. Syntax highlight, pools, and more features that really can add up to a team resources base as also of course you remain in stack overflow and its valuable database.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

So far it being difficult to understand all features and which purpose is aim to.

Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:

Have a motivated group of developers

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are documenting common problems we are finding in our codebase, as well as just build a virtual community of developers that do not necessarily work on the same company or project. To build up community is a big plus!

"Stop looking for a problem's solution twice!"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

It's helpful to have a quick tool for searching common or rare problems while working on a project. I don't need to stop my colleague from their work to help me, and I can speed up my productivity. With widespread problems, I can bookmark the questions and keep them accessible.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

I think it does the job done. The only problem is to learn how to write a well-formed question with all the necessary tags to find it back later easily. But with some practice, you can do it.

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Working on a big project can be a mess if you don't track what can go wrong. In this way, we can help new colleagues face the problem for the first time, but it's also a good reminder when the issue comes out after a long time.

"The best alternative to Confluence"

What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?

The already familiar website, with every tool needed to create a Q/A based database, is available only to your company email. You can easily decide which of the approaches proposed by your colleagues for a problem was the best and working

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?

Its hard to get the habit of writing every question there and also get notified, maybe a better way of integrating it into slack would help, but its a minor onboarding issue

What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Q/A based database written by your own developers

Ability to easily search and find the answers you want, with an interface you already knew for ages

Keeping the data updated
