"Sophos Email keeps our thousands of client communications safe every single day."
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

I have been using Sophos Email for a good amount of time now as part of my daily job as a network security engineer at Vibs Infosol Pvt Ltd. As an admin, I manage this product every single day, and it has become one of the most important tools for our organization, because we have thousands of clients and almost all our communication with them happens through email. Since email is our main channel of communication, protecting it properly was very important for us, and Sophos Email has handled that responsibility very well.

The feature I use and rely on the most is Anti-Spam Protection. Before this, our employees used to get flooded with unwanted and junk emails daily, which used to waste their time and sometimes important client emails would get lost in that mess. Now with Sophos Email's anti-spam engine, most of that junk gets filtered out automatically, and our team's inbox stays clean and focused only on genuine communication. This alone has improved daily productivity for our whole team, not just me.

Anti-Phishing and Anti-Malware protection are two features I check regularly, especially because phishing emails are one of the biggest threats we face, given that we deal with so many external clients daily. Sophos Email scans incoming emails and blocks suspicious links and attachments before they even reach the employee's inbox. I have personally seen cases where a phishing email pretending to be from a known client was blocked automatically, which could have caused a serious security incident if it had reached the employee.

Domain Protection is another feature that gives me peace of mind. It helps stop attackers from spoofing our company domain and sending fake emails pretending to be from us to our clients. Since our brand reputation depends on our clients trusting our emails, this feature protects not just us internally but also protects our clients from being tricked by fake emails using our company name.

Outbound Email Scanning is something I use daily as well, since we are sending thousands of emails to clients regularly, it is very important that our outgoing emails are also clean and do not accidentally send any malware or sensitive data out. This feature scans outgoing mail and gives me confidence that our organization is not accidentally becoming a source of a security problem for our clients.

Email Encryption is a feature we use whenever sensitive information needs to be shared with clients. Instead of sending sensitive details in plain text, I can apply encryption policies so that only the intended recipient can open and read that email. This has helped us maintain trust with clients who share confidential business information with us.

Policy-Based Security is something I configure and manage regularly. I can create specific rules for different departments or specific types of emails, instead of applying one generic rule for everyone. This flexibility has made our email security much more precise and effective for our specific business needs.

The Reporting & Dashboard feature is something I check almost every day. It gives me a clear picture of how many threats were blocked, what kind of spam was filtered, and overall email traffic health. I use this data directly for my monthly security reports to management, which has saved me hours of manual data collection every month.

Alerts & Notifications keep me updated in real time whenever something serious is detected, so I don't have to keep the dashboard open all day, I get informed the moment something needs my attention.

An unexpected benefit I found is that since implementing Sophos Email properly, our whole organization's day to day email communication with clients has become much smoother, without random spam complaints or phishing related panic from employees, which used to happen earlier before we had this solution. What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

Even though Sophos Email works very well for our organization daily, there are a few small things I feel could be improved, through they are not big enough to change my overall positive opinion of the product.

The first thing is that occasionally, some genuine client emails get marked as spam by mistake, especially from new clients we are communicating with for the first time. This means I have to manually check the quarantine folder sometimes to release important emails, which adds a small extra task to my day. A smarter learning mechanism that adapts faster to new but genuine senders would help reduce this.

Second, the initial policy setup and configuration took some time to fully understand, especially since we have thousands of clients and different departments with different needs. The interface has a lot of options, and for someone new, understanding how policies stack together needs some learning time. Simpler guided setup for beginners would help.

Third, sometimes the dashboard reporting could offer a bit more detailed drill down options. While the summary reports are good for management, when I want to investigate one specific incident in deep detail, I sometimes need to cross check with logs separately.

Fourth, regarding pricing, since we protect a large volume of email traffic daily for our organization, the licensing cost is a factor we have to plan carefully in our yearly budget. Once I explained the ROI clearly to management, based on incidents prevented and time saved, the cost was justified, but the initial pricing understanding could be simplified for admins presenting this to their higher management.

Fifth, support response time is generally good for critical issues, but for smaller configuration doubts, sometimes I wait longer than expected to get a detailed answer.

Even with these points, I want to be fair, these are minor issues compared to the overall protection and peace of mind Sophos Email gives our organization daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Hands-Off Email Security with Accurate Phishing Protection in Sophos Email"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

As the admin managing email security for our organisation, what stands out most is how much Sophos Email does quietly in the background without needing constant babysitting. Once policies are configured, spam and phishing detections consistently accurate, and the quarantine digest emails give end users a simple way to release legitimate messages without opening a ticket with IT.

The Time-of-Click URL protection and attachment sandboxing have caught a number of phishing attempts that would otherwise have ended in inboxes. Because it's part of Sophos Central, I get one dashboard alongside our endpoint and firewall policies, which cuts down on the number of consoles I have to check every day.

I also like performance, I haven't noticed any lag in mail delivery, which was a concern going in. Some gateway filtering products add a noticeable delay, but we haven't seen that there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

Reporting is the weakest part of us. The built-in reports cover the basics, but if I need something specific for a specific for a leadership review, I end up exporting data and rebuilding it in a spreadsheet anyway. A more flexible report builder would save me that extra step.

Pricing is also not something you can just look up you have to go through a partner or rep to get real numbers, and the tiering isn't always obvious upfront. It looks a couple of conversations with our reseller to understand what we were actually paying for.

New admins on the team have needed a bit of ramp-up time too it's not hard once you've used it a few weeks, but the first week involves a fair amount of clicking around to find where a setting actually lives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sophos Email Reliable Multi-Layer Email Protection with Centralized Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

What I like about Sophos Email is the accuracy and reliability of its threat detection across multiple attack vectors phishing, malware, spam, and impersonation attempts are handled effectively without requiring constant manual tuning or rule adjustments. The AI-powered phishing detection is a particular standout, catching sophisticated social engineering attempts and business email compromise (BEC) attacks that traditionally slip past basic spam filters by mimicking legitimate communication patterns.

The Time-of-Click URL protection is another genuinely valuable feature in a real-world environment. Links in emails are re-evaluated at the moment a user clicks them rather than just at the point of delivery, which means even URLs that were clean on arrival but later weaponized are still caught they can do defense, that extra layer can do damage. For environments where end users are the last line of defense, that extra layer of protection is operationally significant.

Integration with Sophos Central makes the management experience clean and consistent. Policy configuration, quarantine management, allow and block lists and reporting are all handled from the same console used for endpoint and other Sophos products, which reduces context switching and keeps the overall administrative overhead manageable. For an IT admin handling email security across multiple client environment, that unified management experience is a meaningful day-to-day advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

While Sophos Email is a reliable email security platform, there are some friction points that surface in day-to-day administration. The most consistent pain point is false positives legitimate emails, particularly those from bulk senders, automated notification systems, or less common international domains, occasionally get quarantined without clear reasoning. End users frequently escalate these as missed emails, and tracing why a specific message was flagged and configuring the right exclusion to prevent recurrence takes more effort than it should.

The quarantine management experience, while functional, could be significantly improved. End users receive quarantine digest emails and can release messages themselves, but the self-service portal is not particularly intuitive for non-technical users, leading to frequent helpdesk tickets from people who can't figure out how to release their own quarantined emails. A cleaner, more guided end-user experience would reduce that administrative burden considerably.

Reporting is another area that feels underdeveloped relative to the depth of data the platform collects. The out-of-box reports cover the basics but lack the granularity and customization options needed for detailed security audits or executive level reporting. Building meaningful insights beyond the default dashboards requires manual data extraction and significantly efforts that shouldn't be necessary on a platform at this level.

Delayed email delivery during peak processing periods is also worth mentioning, in environments with high email volumes, there are occasional noticeable delays in message delivery caused by scanning queues, which can impact time-sensitive business communications and leads to end user complaints that are difficult to explain without diving into backend processing logs. "Simple and Effective Email Protection"
4/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

Sophos Email is that it does a great job of blocking spam, phishing emails, and other email threats before they reach users. It's easy to manage through the dashboard, and the setup is straightforward. The reporting is also clear, making it easy to track blocked emails and monitor overall email security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

One thing that could be improved is the reporting and search functionality, as finding older emails can sometimes take a little longer than expected. It would also be helpful to have more advanced customization options for policies and notifications. Overall, though, these are minor improvements, and the product performs well for day-to-day email security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sophos Email Security – A Smart Shield for Modern Communication"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

What I truly appreciate about Sophos Email Security is how effortlessly it blends protection with simplicity. The system quietly does its job in the background — filtering out spam, phishing attempts, and malicious attachments — without interrupting normal workflow. The AI-driven threat detection is remarkably accurate, and the quarantine summary emails are clear and actionable. It gives both IT and end users a sense of confidence that every message coming in or going out is being watched over intelligently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

There’s not much to complain about. If I had to mention something, it would be that the initial policy setup takes a bit of planning to get right for different user groups. But once the policies are in place, it’s mostly hands-free and maintenance-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong Email Security with Smart Threat Detection."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

Sophos Email Security gives us confidence that our email environment is protected from phishing, malware, and spam. I particularly like the automated threat analysis and the real-time alerts, which help us respond quickly to any suspicious activity. The quarantine management is easy for end-users to handle, and setting up domain and user-level policies was straightforward. Overall, it’s a reliable solution that runs quietly in the background without causing disruption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

Sometimes the system can be a bit aggressive and flag important emails as suspicious, which requires manual review. Additionally, the reporting interface could be more modern and flexible for advanced analytics. Learning all the settings for granular control may take some time for new administrators. "Smart Email Security That Works Silently in the Background"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Email?

Sophos Email has given us peace of mind by filtering out phishing attempts, business email compromise, and spam before they even reach our inboxes. The integration with Sophos Central is seamless, and the policies are easy to set up and adapt. The biggest plus is that it works silently in the background — our users don’t even realize how much risk is being blocked daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Email?

Honestly, there’s not much to dislike. If anything, I’d say the reporting dashboard could be a bit more user-friendly for non-technical staff, but the depth of information it provides is excellent for IT admins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
