It integrates well with other enterprise systems, which helps keep everything connected and makes it much easier to deliver a consistent experience for users. What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I don't like is that Sitecore can take some time to get used to, especially if you're new to the platform. A few things feel more complicated than they need to be, and setting everything up or maintaining it can be a bit time-consuming. It's a powerful platform, but there's definitely a learning curve before you can use it confidently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable, Secure, and Built for Enterprise Scale"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

My favorite thing about Sitecore DXP is that it combines content management, personalization, and digital marketing in one solution. You can easily manage your content across all of your websites and channels, yet still provide your users with tailored experiences depending on their audience.

Another great thing about this product is that it’s flexible, has some excellent integration abilities, and scales extremely well to larger enterprise apps.

Pricing can be high, but for large-scale and multi-site implementations it still offers good value. Support and documentation are helpful, even if onboarding can be challenging at the beginning. The AI and personalization features also seem to be improving, and they help deliver better user experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

At the start, it was a little hard to understand the CMS. Also, because of its complexity, it’s difficult to find the issue, and it takes a longer time to fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

"Unmatched capability for scaling up large digital platforms smoothly"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Sitecore is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to enterprise-level content management. Its ability to scale across multiple global sites, languages, and channels seamlessly is a huge win for us. The security, multisite management, and flexibility it offers make it a highly reliable DXP for handling complex, large-scale digital architectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The platform can sometimes feel quite heavy and slow, particularly on the backend if it hasn’t been perfectly optimized. Because it’s so feature-rich, the sheer complexity of the architecture means that troubleshooting performance issues or dealing with legacy configurations can take up a lot of development time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We're glad to hear that you find our marketing features and platform flexibility to be powerful and industry-leading. We understand that licensing costs can be a concern, and we continuously strive to provide value for our clients. We appreciate your recommendation to find a trusted and experienced partner for implementation, and we're committed to supporting our clients in achieving success with Sitecore.

"Strong Personalization and Content Management for Enterprise Scale"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore DXP is how everything comes together for managing large scale digital experiences. The UI is genuinely easy to work with for content authors, the drag and drop page builder lets marketing teams make updates on their own without waiting on developers, which really speeds things up.

Performance has been solid in my experience too, once caching and CDN settings are configured properly, page load times stay consistent even when personalization is running heavily in the background.

From an ROI standpoint, it makes sense for larger organizations managing multiple sites or regions from a single platform, since it reduces duplicate work and long term maintenance effort.

Support and onboarding took some getting used to at first, the documentation is detailed but the learning curve is real, so having a good implementation partner or internal expertise really helps in the early stages. Alongside Sitecore, we mainly use tools like Azure for hosting and infrastructure and Salesforce for CRM data. Integration with these tools has been fairly smooth overall, Sitecore connects well within the Microsoft ecosystem, so Azure setup felt natural. Syncing customer data from Salesforce into Sitecore took a bit of initial configuration, but once connected, it's been reliable for powering personalization. We've also used Sitecore Connect for a few lighter integrations where a custom build wasn't necessary, that saved us some development time on smaller workflows. Overall, it fits well into our existing stack, though larger integrations do need proper planning and technical resources to get right. What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Setup and environment configuration can also be a pain, especially with on-prem or hybrid setups. Getting things like CDN, caching, and indexing configured correctly takes real expertise, and if it's not done right, performance suffers noticeably.

Support and onboarding could be better too. Documentation is thorough, but it's not always beginner friendly, and troubleshooting certain issues sometimes means digging through forums or relying on community knowledge rather than getting quick answers from official support.

Lastly, while the AI and personalization features are strong, setting them up properly takes time and technical know how. If it's not configured well from the start, you don't get the full benefit, and that learning curve adds up quickly for teams new to the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We appreciate your insights on how Sitecore DXP has addressed the challenges of managing content across multiple websites and regions, as well as reducing the dependency between marketing and development teams. Your feedback on the setup, support, and personalization features is valuable, and we're dedicated to addressing these areas to ensure a more seamless experience for our users.

"A Robust Platform for Enterprise Content Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

I've been working with Sitecore XP 10.3 and .NET MVC for around two years, mainly on enterprise websites. What I like most is its flexibility and the Experience Editor, which makes it easy for content authors to update pages without relying on developers. It integrates well with Solr, .NET services, and other enterprise systems, making development straightforward. Performance is reliable when caching and indexing are configured correctly, although it requires proper setup. The platform is expensive, but it delivers good value for organizations that need a scalable enterprise CMS. The documentation, community, and support resources have been helpful whenever we faced implementation challenges. We haven't used AI features directly, but I like that Sitecore is moving toward AI-powered capabilities in its newer products, and even in XP 10.3 the personalization and analytics features help deliver more intelligent, data-driven user experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One downside of Sitecore XP 10.3 is its learning curve. It takes time for new developers to understand the architecture, templates, rendering, and deployment process. The initial setup and maintenance can also be complex compared to simpler CMS platforms. Performance needs careful configuration, especially around caching and Solr indexing, to get the best results. Licensing costs are relatively high, which may not be suitable for smaller organizations. Since we're on XP 10.3, it also doesn't include the newer AI-powered features available in the latest Sitecore products, so organizations looking for built-in generative AI will need to rely on external integrations or newer versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We're thrilled to hear that you find Sitecore to be one of the best CMS platforms to navigate. We appreciate your feedback on the ease of use and customization. We will take your comments about the limitations with adding components and basic HTML input into consideration as we continue to improve our platform.

"Powerful Enterprise DXP with Excellent Flexibility"
4/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore DXP is its flexibility and the way it supports enterprise-level websites with complex business requirements. The content management experience is good, and content authors can easily manage pages, workflows, multilingual content, and multiple websites from a single platform.

From a developer's perspective, Sitecore is highly extensible and provides good integration options with CRM, ERP, marketing tools, search platforms, and other third-party applications. Performance is also good when the solution is implemented following Sitecore best practices and proper infrastructure sizing.

I also like that Sitecore is continuously evolving with headless architecture, XM Cloud, and AI capabilities, helping businesses deliver more personalised customer experiences.

The licensing cost is on the higher side, so it may not be suitable for small businesses. However, for medium and large enterprises, the features and scalability provide good value over the long term. The documentation is detailed, the developer community is active, and my experience with Sitecore Support has been positive whenever we have raised technical issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One area where Sitecore can improve is its licensing and overall implementation cost, which can be quite high for small and mid-sized organisations. The platform is feature-rich, but it also comes with a learning curve for both developers and content authors, especially during the initial onboarding.

From a development perspective, upgrades between major versions can require significant effort depending on the project customisations. Performance can also be affected if the solution is not designed properly or if unnecessary customisations are added.

Although Sitecore has improved its cloud and headless offerings, some newer features are still evolving, and the documentation for certain areas could be more detailed with practical implementation examples. AI capabilities are promising, but I would like to see them become more mature and tightly integrated across the entire platform.

Overall, these are areas for improvement rather than major drawbacks, and they are generally manageable with proper planning and experienced implementation teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sitecore DXP: Flexible Power for Complex Websites and Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One of the biggest strengths of Sitecore DXP is how well it supports complex websites. It provides the flexibility to handle custom requirements while still offering a solid experience for content authors. The platform is highly customizable, making it a good fit for enterprise applications with evolving business needs.

Another thing I like is how easily it integrates with other services. We were able to integrate Azure Maps and Azure Application Insights without much difficulty, and the platform also makes it straightforward to connect with other third-party applications. This flexibility has helped us extend the platform without major development challenges.

The editing experience is clean and organized, making it easier for content teams to manage pages and updates. From a development perspective, the platform is reliable and performs well when implemented and optimized correctly.

Although the initial setup and learning curve require some effort, the long-term value is worth it. Once everything is in place, the platform is stable, scalable, and reduces the need for frequent rework as business requirements grow. We also found the documentation and community resources helpful when working through new features and integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Performance can sometimes be affected on larger implementations if the solution isn't well optimized, so regular maintenance is important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We appreciate your feedback on the performance aspect and the importance of regular maintenance for larger implementations. We're continuously working to optimize and improve the platform to address such concerns.

"A Powerful CMS with a Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like most about Sitecore is how flexible it is. It makes it easy to manage content across multiple websites and languages from one place. As a Sitecore developer, I like that it's highly customizable and integrates well with other systems. The move toward headless development with XM Cloud and Experience Edge is also a big plus because it lets us use modern frontend frameworks while still giving content authors a good editing experience. Once you're familiar with the platform, it's a great choice for building large and scalable websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Sitecore is a powerful platform, but it can feel quite complex. I hope it continues to become easier to set up, use, and integrate as the platform evolves. Sitecore performs well for enterprise-scale websites when it's configured and optimized correctly

Sitecore is expensive, especially for smaller businesses. But for larger organizations that use its full feature set, it can provide good long-term value.

Support is generally good, but the documentation could be clearer. Better guides and real-world examples would make it much easier for new developers to get started.

The AI features are promising and are improving over time. I'd like to see more AI capabilities that help with content management, personalization, and everyday development tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We appreciate your positive feedback about Sitecore's user-friendly interface and flexibility. We understand the frustration of dealing with glitches and slow performance, and we are committed to resolving these issues to provide a smoother experience for all our users. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

"Streamlined Content Management with Powerful Personalization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is how it combines content management, personalization, analytics, and integration capabilities into a single platform. In my day-to-day work, I've used Sitecore to build and maintain headless websites with Next.js, which allows the front end and content management to be developed independently. This has made deployments faster and enabled front-end teams to work without waiting for CMS changes, improving our overall development workflow.

The built-in personalization features have been especially valuable because marketing teams can deliver different content to different audience segments without requiring new code deployments. This reduces developer involvement for content updates and helps launch targeted campaigns much more quickly.

Another feature I use regularly is Sitecore's integration support. Connecting external APIs and third-party services has been straightforward, allowing us to build complex digital experiences without extensive custom development.

One unexpected benefit has been how well Sitecore supports enterprise-scale projects while still giving developers the flexibility to use modern technologies like Next.js and a headless architecture. Overall, it has streamlined our development process, reduced the time needed for content updates, and helped deliver faster, more personalized digital experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced with the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is the initial setup and configuration. Implementing a headless solution, configuring Experience Edge, connecting external services, and managing deployment pipelines all take significant time and a solid understanding of the platform. For developers who are new to Sitecore, this can slow onboarding and extend the time it takes to deliver new features.

I’ve also found that troubleshooting configuration or integration issues can be tough, partly because some of the documentation doesn’t include enough complete, real-world implementation examples. More end-to-end guides, sample projects, and clearer migration documentation would make the development process much smoother. Even with these challenges, the platform’s enterprise-grade scalability, personalization, and content management capabilities still make it a strong choice for large digital experience projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

Thank you for sharing how Sitecore has benefited you by allowing content editors to update and publish content independently, improving front-end performance, and simplifying the integration of external APIs and third-party services. We're glad to hear that Sitecore has helped streamline your development workflow and improve collaboration between developers and content teams.

"Flexible, Personalized Experiences"
4/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The platform is very flexible and works well for building large, modern websites. Content authors find it easy to use, thanks to tools like the Experience Editor and ready-made components, so publishing and updating pages doesn't require deep technical skill.

From a developer side, Sitecore connects smoothly with .NET, React, Next.js, APIs, and other third-party tools like CRM and analytics platforms. This makes it easier to build a fully connected digital setup instead of relying on many separate systems.

Performance is solid too, especially when caching and indexing are set up correctly. It's a premium product, but for medium and large businesses, it usually pays off because it combines content management, personalization, marketing tools, and analytics in one place.

Sitecore also offers good documentation, an active user community, and free training through Sitecore Learn, which helps new team members get up to speed quickly. Lastly, I like that Sitecore keeps adding AI features across XM Cloud, Search, Personalize, and Stream, which help with smarter content suggestions and faster content creation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The biggest downside is the learning curve. Because it's such a feature-packed platform, new developers and even content authors need real time to get comfortable with how it's structured, how deployments work, and how the different modules fit together. Initial setup and version upgrades can also feel complicated compared to simpler CMS tools.

Cost is another factor. Licensing and implementation aren't cheap, so it's harder to justify for small businesses or teams with tight budgets. To get the best performance, you also need skilled developers who know how to properly set up caching, search indexes, and infrastructure — it's not very forgiving for beginners.

Sitecore has improved a lot with XM Cloud and AI features, but some older parts of the platform still need manual configuration. Also, when you're using multiple products together — like CDP, Personalize, Search, and XM Cloud — the setup can get more complex than expected. It would help if onboarding was simpler and the different products connected together more smoothly out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We understand that the learning curve and cost may be challenges for some users. We continuously work to improve our onboarding process and provide resources to help users navigate the platform more easily. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to enhance the user experience.
