The product allows you to do advanced operations in workflows, schedule automatons or kick off custom scripts using triggers. The freedom and versatility it provides allows you to implement complex processes in Jira without having to create your own app. The things you can do are endless since it allows you to create your own groovy scripts.

If someone is not familiar with groovy or with how Jira works they can create scripts that create a large overhead. Since you can create your own scripts using groovy it is important to vet.
