Some work is required to be done on its UI to make it unbeatable. **What problems is Revit City solving and how is that benefiting you?** Often it happens that after downloading a family it becomes difficult to understand what parameters have been placed inside the family and what parameters do what, so I can just go back to Revit City drop start a conversation stating the diffculkty that I am facing and someone will come back with a solution. Because of this, there is a large variety of families on the site and you can almost always find something that fits your needs. **What do you dislike about Revit City?** The search function is hit or miss; there is no filter or moderation to the types of families that are uploaded, which leads to there being a lot of "fluff" that you have to sift through to find what you need. You should expect to download a few different families/files of the same type before finding just what you're looking for. The website is also surprisingly slow to load, and a little bit outdated. It requires a bit of patience to use. **Recommendations to others considering Revit City:** While I would recommend Revit City specifically to students who don't necessarily need branded/licensed products in their models, you should understand that the website only contains user-uploaded files. There is no quality control, which can be both a good thing (lots of files) and a bad thing (many useless files). It just requires you to be patient, as the website is a little slow, and expect to download more than a few files before you find exactly what you're looking for. **What problems is Revit City solving and how is that benefiting you?** Revit City helps me quickly find placeholder families to use in my projects; however, there are no licensed or branded products so it's use is somewhat limited in that regard. However, if you are just looking for a quick generic family, Revit City is perfect. ### 10. It has many search functions and thousands, if not millions, of items valuable to anyone wanting specific families without wanting to model them themselves. **What do you dislike about Revit City?** Revit City's UI is pretty dated; I'm sure it hasn't had a refresh in the past five years. It also feels strange to have such a resource sorted by Construction standards rather than something friendlier to AE production staff who may not know them by the back of their hand, but it remains useful nonetheless. **Recommendations to others considering Revit City:** Get familiar with MasterFormat and other AEC-specific format structures to use the search engines to full capacity. Also, keep in mind that you may still have to do some tweaks to anything you find on RevitCity, they may be in different units of measure than you use in your country, and they might not work as well as you hope. **What problems is Revit City solving and how is that benefiting you?** If I can find an adequate family or other BIM component in a few minutes of searching, that is much faster than building something from scratch. There is also a small community associated with RevitCity, which can be valuable for finding methods and means that improve my skills. ### 13. The filter functionality is not up to the mark. The families are not categorized and sorted as they should be. (It's fourth time I am writing this review on G2 and still I am getting mails to complete the review, instead of rewards..!) **Recommendations to others considering Revit City:** It's an excellent platform to find the required Revit families. Parametric families are also available on Revit City. And you can also upload the families that you have created and can be used by the community. **What problems is Revit City solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am downloading Revit families for my Revit projects.
