## Remnux Reviews
  ### 1. A valuable tool for malware analysts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Remnux?**

When it comes to advantages, the most significant one is that Remnux is designed with a specific setup for investigations. This makes my work very efficient, especially as it spares me a lot of time so that I can concentrate on the technical aspects of the malware.

**What do you dislike about Remnux?**

I get to deal with very targeted malware here which will require a more custom solution. It is possible that these specific scenarios are not catered for in Remnux’s default settings, meaning that the required tools may not always be included.

**What problems is Remnux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remnux saves the user the hassle of configuring a malware analysis environment. Its curated collection saves the time that one may be used in looking for specific tools and configuring them in the first instance of analysis.

  ### 2. Great static analysis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Remnux?**

Ease of setting up with available image makes for getting down to work faster. In a host-only network, it works well with FlareVM like bread and butter. Documentation available for finding the right tool is super helpful!

**What do you dislike about Remnux?**

Difficult to properly analyze Windows malware. However, that may not be a REMnux problem. GUI may be a little too simple as well but these are minor problems compared to the benefits.

**What problems is Remnux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's giving me a cost-efficient and user-friendly toolkit for analyzing malware. The integration with FlareVM is virtually flawless as well for running dynamic analysis.

  ### 3. Lots of great tools. I don't know how to use most of them but excited to learn

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elijah L. | In-House Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Remnux?**

Remnux was super easy to setup in a virtual machine. I love the amount of tools included and even though I don't know what most of them do yet I am super excited to continue learning about Malware analysis using Remnux

**What do you dislike about Remnux?**

Not a lot of criticisim. It would be nice if they could include a breif discription of each tool but that's what googles for and that would be a lot to ask for.

**What problems is Remnux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remnux is helping me learn more about Malware Analysis.

  ### 4. An amazing linux distro for malware analysis!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Remnux?**

One of the best things about Remnux is the fact that it is an all-in-one package of tools that are essential to perform malware analysis. Since it's ubuntu-based, it's user-friendly and highly customizable.

**What do you dislike about Remnux?**

You might run into situations where you're only using a small subset of the pre-installed tools that come with it. You might want to customise your own Ubuntu-based systems rather than running Remnux.

**What problems is Remnux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Remnux means that I can quickly spin-up a VM for analysing malicious documents or running a C2 server, rather than having to set one up myself and manually install all the required tools and packages.
