The ability to process payments using standard ACH at no cost to our company is a huge plus, especially because it’s simple to set up and user-friendly. I also appreciate that there are multiple delivery options to choose from, depending on how urgent the payment is. Each option does have a different price, however the costs are not too high compared to bank fees. We are able to integrate our bank account with the payments so that the funds are deducted from the account required. So far the payments have been reliable and have reached the vendors at the agreed times without the need of requesting any customer support. I like that QuickBooks Bill Pay keeps everything in one place and is easy to use, user-friendly, and quick. The buttons are all there, and I can tag the places I use most so I know exactly where to go without digging through a bunch of things. It helps me get into a flow the next time I pay bills. Sometimes QuickBooks Bill Pay has glitches, and it can be hard to get a hold of a support person. The chatbot isn’t the best for troubleshooting and usually runs into a wall. There’s also a bit of a learning curve when you first start using QuickBooks, though there are options to help you learn and it gets easier once you have it down. QuickBooks Bill Pay is user-friendly and easy to navigate across a variety of tasks. I especially like the bill and bill payment approval option within the software, since it helps ensure proper handling of both the bill and the related financial transaction before final processing. This approval step also helps make sure our company’s financial transactions are reviewed by additional parties for legitimacy and accuracy prior to submitting the payment to the financial institution. One issue I’ve run into is when a payment gets rejected by the receiving bank. To find out why the payment was rejected or returned, I have to contact support by phone or chat to get that information. When support is busy, this can take quite a while and slows down the process. I personally would like a rejected/returned tab in the bill payment dashboard where the information can be found and corrected without the sometimes-lengthy support process. I like that QuickBooks Bill Pay is easy to use and easy to access, and that everything is in one place. ACH processing times are slower than I'd like; payments can take several business days to clear, which is a problem when a vendor needs faster turnaround and forces me back to printed checks or external transfers. The check printing workflow has quirks; alignment issues on pre-printed check stock have required test prints and adjustments that shouldn't be necessary in a mature product. Sometimes it is not completely clear if the payment actually happened via check or ACH. This could be better implemented to avoid errors. Also, it is not clear if the vendor received the payment or not. There should be some sort of alert for when for some reason the payment was not received or not executed. I found the different between the "pay bills" option and the "schedule payments" option to be confusing. These are two different ways to pay and the buttons for them are in two different places.
