The platform offers strong integration capabilities, allowing organizations to connect data from multiple sources and build a more complete view of their information landscape. From a performance perspective, its automation features help reduce manual effort in areas such as data cataloging, lineage tracking, and governance, making data management more efficient. In terms of pricing and ROI, the platform helps organizations save time, improve data quality, and reduce compliance risks, resulting in better value from their data investments. I also appreciate the available support and onboarding resources that help teams adopt governance practices more effectively and accelerate implementation. Overall, the combination of data intelligence, governance, and automation helps organizations make more informed decisions while increasing trust in their data. "Centralized Data Catalog with Powerful Governance and Lineage Visibility"
5/5
What do you like best about Quest Data Intelligence?

The best part of erwin Data Intelligence is its ability to provide a centralized data catalog and strong data governance capabilities. It helps organizations understand data lineage, metadata, and data relationships across multiple systems. The platform makes it easier for business and technical users to discover trusted data assets, maintain data quality, and ensure compliance. Its integration with enterprise tools and visualization of data lineage significantly improves transparency and collaboration across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quest Data Intelligence?

One challenge with erwin Data Intelligence is that the initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially for organizations new to data governance tools. The user interface can sometimes feel less intuitive for new users, which creates a learning curve. In addition, performance can occasionally slow down when handling very large metadata repositories, and the licensing cost may be high for smaller teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Data Analysis Effortlessly"
4/5
What do you like best about Quest Data Intelligence?

I have used erwin Data Intelligence for finding, understanding, and analyzing data source flow easily. It helps me find and refine datasets easily, so I don't have to depend on my colleague every time I need data to work on. By using erwin Data Intelligence, I was able to easily analyze the data flow from the source to the final dashboard destination, which made my job easier and hassle-free. It helped me understand how data is cleaned, transformed, and structured from scratch, allowing me to easily track it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quest Data Intelligence?

When dealing with very large dataset, sometimes the UI responds slower but it's completely alright and I don't find it as an issue and apart from this I faced no other problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Centralization but UI Needs Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Quest Data Intelligence?

I like that with erwin Data Intelligence, engineers and analysts can know where data are coming from, what the results actually mean, and where the calculations are coming from. It's great for documenting and giving visibility to non-tech people. I appreciate that everything is centralized, with lineage, definitions, and datasets all together. It's also easy to use, and the initial setup was very easy for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quest Data Intelligence?

Sometimes with large datasets it's a bit heavy and slow. The UI also is not very helpful. It gets some time for new users to get used to the UI, but when you are used to it, it's fine. Maybe this can be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automated Data Lineage with Some Configuration Hurdles"
4/5
What do you like best about Quest Data Intelligence?

I use erwin Data Intelligence for data cataloguing and lineage mapping, and I love how it automatically crawls my databases to create a comprehensive inventory of every table and column. It shows exactly how data moves from a source through ETL into my data warehouse, which helps prevent impact blindness. The automated data lineage feature is incredible as it visually maps data movement, parsing ETL code and SQL scripts. It's a lifesaver during migrations. I also appreciate the feature that creates bubbles to show how different business teams are related, which is great for explaining data to executives. The immediate impact analysis and downstream visual it provides before updating definitions is very helpful, allowing me to view all dependent reports, APIs, and ETL jobs. The backward lineage feature is amazing too; I can easily trace data upstream through transformations to find where bad data enters the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quest Data Intelligence?

It's a beast to configure; you can't just turn it on. You require a team of data stewards to maintain the metadata. Setting up agents and scanners to crawl databases involves JDBC configuration and complex port mapping. The product should include a library of preconfigured connectors for major clouds like BigQuery, where we just enter creds and the tool handles the handshake in the background. Another issue is linking a column in the source system to a column in the target system often requires manual intervention if the names don't match exactly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowered Our Data Management with Robust Governance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Quest Data Intelligence?

I like how erwin Data Intelligence brings cataloging, lineage, and governance into one place. It makes it much easier to understand and trust our data. The features help a lot by making it easier to quickly find the right data, understand where it comes from, and know how it's being used. It cuts down on confusion and gives people more confidence about the data they are working with. I find it especially useful when we need better visibility across systems instead of working in separate silos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quest Data Intelligence?

One thing that could be better is the ease of use; some parts feel a little complex and take time to learn. It would also be great if navigation and a few workflows were more streamlined, so everyday tasks could be done faster and more intuitively. The initial setup was a little bit complex, but once that is done it goes very smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enhances Data Insight with Efficient Analysis"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Quest Data Intelligence?

I find it useful to use different training data sources to create a dashboard with monthly highlights. It helps me remove duplicates, identify training periods, and divide the pool into cohorts based on profiles. I like that it finds and understands the data, providing me insights on different correlations that I wouldn’t see at first sight. This reduces the time I would spend reviewing and analyzing data, giving me more time to develop better training strategies for the business. The initial setup was also easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quest Data Intelligence?

Sometimes it doesn’t clearly understand my inputs, and I need to restart the prompt. Since I’m not an English native speaker, it would be nice if they suggest the user to use any language but decide in which language they want the output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
