Loadmaster proved to be a well-featured product for a fraction of the price of competitor products. We currently use it to publish ~60 sites or services. Kemp customer support has always been excellent in terms of response time and resolution. One one occasion, I also employed their professional services who were also knowledgeable and helped us reach our objectives. Online documentation is good. **What do you dislike about Progress Kemp LoadMaster?** The interface is a little dated but serves its purpose. For some new users, the learning curve can be a bit steep to get used to the terminology and way things work, but I've solved that by using examples for them to copy when configuring new stuff. **What problems is Progress Kemp LoadMaster solving and how is that benefiting you?** Initially, replacing end-of0life competitor product used for reverse-proxying a few websites. Now used from ~60 sites and services ranging from load balancing to single servers sites with a nicely fronted hostname, certificates and sometimes things like header re-writes when the back-end server is a bit cruddy, along with OWASP based WAF features. ### 2. Kemp's LoadMaster VM is the right size for our organization in both size and cost. Everythign about this product has been flawless for us in dependability/reliability. We just don't have to worry about it doing what it is designed to do. Very capable well beyond what our needs are. It was very easy to deploy inside of our VMware environment and integrated with our processes seamlessly. If we've ever had to contact support, they have been very helpful and give clear instructions for configuration or troubleshooting what we might have missconfigured. **What do you dislike about Progress Kemp LoadMaster?** It isn't free? That isn't a real dislike. Setting up an HA pair was effortless. Kemp support is proactive in their mailings to patch any security vulnerability that is discovered and disclosed. Internally we love the Lets Encrypt and Kubernetes ingress controller functionality. **What do you dislike about Progress Kemp LoadMaster?** It's hard to come up with much of a list about negatives, but with the UI being as simple as it is, it does become a challenege to navigate and administrate when you have a large amount of Virtual IP's or Virtual Services in use and page is constantly reloading. **What problems is Progress Kemp LoadMaster solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were originally looking for a cost effective load balancer and reverse proxy for our organization. Online documentation is sufficient to assist, however I feel that it could use an update to become more intuitive. **What problems is Progress Kemp LoadMaster solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using this to round robin our local web servers for our EMAR solution and are now using it to balance connections to our Horizon UAG. I feel like we can throw just about anything at it and things just work. Not to mention the amazing templates they have available for use. Additionally, the customer support has been just about top notch. **What do you dislike about Progress Kemp LoadMaster?** The interface is a little rough in 2024, and the licensing is a little ridgid. While I understand their point of view, I would prefer the appliance to revert to a reduced functionality mode and offer a bit of a grace period. We all know the higher ups have plenty of time to get the quotes approved, but we also know they wait until the due date. This is not typically something controlled by the operator of the appliance and makes things rough at times. Not necessarily their problem, but most products are a tad more friendly on renewals. Gen 2 Hyper V template would also be awesome instead of the gen 1. **What problems is Progress Kemp LoadMaster solving and how is that benefiting you?** File shares, load balancing RDS farms, website load balancing/ certificate management (LOVE THIS), and possibly the integration of Okta at some point. :) So much utility in this product. ### 11. It also has been a big help in managing performance between our two servers so if one is too busy, it connects to the second one. Kemp LoadMaster was easy to implement. Was up and running very quickly. We haven't had to place very many support tickets. Only a few questions. Customer Support was great.
