There are a few good Saas metrics platforms, all have their strengths - given the number of business models and ways you can utilise Stripe we've found no single one to be perfect, and we've tried them all. PW ended up being our choice as we found it overall the most accurate on metrics. However, the reason we have stayed, and become an advocate, is down to the team. For us, trial metrics don't work as it doesn't cater for freemium plans here, however PW team tell me this is coming down the line, and I believe it will. Number of Users (vs customers) would also be useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Retain service and segment reporting are fantastic. The few times I have needed to interact with customer support have been efficient and effective. Let's you see all the underlying info and make comparisons with your data. Also lets you see the impact of change over time. We have been using Profitwell for more than a year now and I have been able to gain so much more info about my subscription business that would have taken far more time to get in any other way. ProfitWell has been a game changer in keeping our team aligned around SaaS metrics. Our entire product and customer success teams have access in order to keep a pulse on things, and we even share ProfitWell metrics in our weekly all hands meetings. The dunning emails have been super helpful in recovering failed payments, and we've beta tested upgrade emails too. Neel and the team are great to work with and are always super quick to respond! We don't like to count customers who pay once then cancel as churn, and it gets tricky to exclude them as we grow. It would be nice to have the option to change settings for this! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ProfitWell has a number of interesting features that I enjoy using.

For one, they have an Engagement dashboard that, with a little GTM tag, you can track how engaged your users are with your platform, helping to predict retention/churn, as well as being able to view, by segment, how various cohorts interact with the platform.

I've also been using their Retain feature as well over the past month and it seems to be preforming better than I expected. It has some great features to help reduce delinquent churn. Apart from dunning emails, they have in-app notifications that help guide a user to update their payment method.

Apart from the actual service, the value-based pricing is well thought out. I appreciate how the Retain service only charges you for the results they drive over your baseline results. It becomes a no-brainer to switch over to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish the dashboard was better designed from a visual standpoint.

This is a superficial complaint, but it does affect the user experience.

Sometimes it feels like there is just too much going on within ProfitWell that you're not guided towards the key metrics that you want to focus on. Potentially having the ability to customize your homepage of the dashboard would help users track their KPIs more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Profitwell has a great tool that lets me get incredibly detailed analytics on our subscription business. On top of that, they have a huge library of content, case studies and how-tos. Clean, quick, easy to use, effective, straight to the point info and usable for non accounting professionals. not only am i able to log in and see a great easy dashboard with reporting options, but i can link this and integrate with Slack and other programs to show updates to the necessary employees. Great for further reporting and customization options but does not take away the great product. Still love it. I have loved using this program so i really do not have any issues or complaints against it. If you are using Zuora, be sure to tie int he connector to have this as a dashboard and use it within slack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. Ability to look at LTV by various segments, but most importantly by plan and plan groupings. This allows me to compare monthly vs. annual plans, which have lower MRR but also lower churn.

2. Real-time tracking vs. my monthly goal, including the projected end of month MRR based on trend, which neither of my subscription management services provide. It's much easier to see where I'm likely to end up at the end of the month.

3. The engagement module gives me a view into subscribers that aren't using the product that I've never had before. Really eye-opening.

4. Easy set up with 2 different subscription management providers. ProfitWell handled it all, including getting all time data for providers that don't give that by default.

5. The analytics are much, much better than either Recurly or Chargebee. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My Chargebee account took about a week to get set up. I'm sure that was all on Chargebee, which doesn't provide data automatically, but it would've been nice to get a couple updates during the process to let me know things were proceeding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Profitwell is one of my favorite analytics tools for managing subscription activity and performance. The best feature is all the key reports are already built for you and they are intuitive to use, including:

MRR Growth and targeting chart: This shows right up on the dashboard and you can easily see the Growth and loss of MRR for your current month and compare it to both your target growth and prior month activity

Cohort Report: This shows the performance of a monthly cohort and how the revenue or customer base has churned. This is often painful to create using raw data

Unit Economics Chart: The month over month detail on ARPU, LTV and MRR very clearly shows key measures that we can share with investors and other management.

Lastly, I thought that Profitwell was extremely easy to set up with stripe. We just connected and immediately all new subscription or subscription changes were automatically imported Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The item I like the least are the weekly emails; They are ok, but generally speaking they are stale when I receive them and I'm pretty familiar with progress as I visit most days.

Also, I wish it was easier to add custom data sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Honestly, this is the best SaaS metrics tool on the market. I couldn't agree more with other people saying that too. We moved over from another tool and we love Profitwell so much more. The engagement and retain tool aren't like anything else we've ever used and we are seeing the data we need to see at this stage of our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not much to put here actually. The only thing I wish was a little more granular would be the DAU graph as I'd like to look at past month's metrics.
