What do you like best about Proficy HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY?

I can't say about the features are best but quite fair as compared to others.

Graphics library is appreciable. And animation provision is helpful. Other competitor platforms are much better in terms of screen update rate, GUI interface of development platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Proficy HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY?

I had a issue while integration with B&R OPC. The issue ID was Generic due to which we were unable to resolve the issue.

So they need to work on bug fixing and add details to errors so that consumers can find it user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most of the trainees and junior engineers get really confused with the User interface of the CIMPLICITY.

What do you like best about Proficy HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY?

The way Cimplicity allows users to configure various states for text boxes (color, text, font, blinking, etc) is very robust and in fact essential for machine control in my company.

Proficy WebSpace has also proven to be an invaluable resource for monitoring our machines that are spread out in various physical locations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Proficy HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY?

While at one point the Cimplicity platform supported direct connection to Rockwell PLCs that functionality has been left by the wayside and hasn't worked for a few generations of Rockwell PLCs. As a result OPC frameworks have to be used to establish that connection.

Cimplicity's ability to reconnect to a PLC after losing communication is also lacking. I generally have to resort to stopping and restarting the project to re-establish that connection unless I want to wait several minutes for the active project to re-establish on its own Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Proficy HMI/SCADA - CIMPLICITY:

Although the software definitely has some limitations, overall I have been pleased with its functionality and usability. A lot of our machines are using old GE PLCs so Cimplicity meets our needs. However, if I had a blank slate with the ability to choose any HMI package for controlling our machines I would not choose Cimplicity. I would instead opt for something that integrated better with more than just GE PLCs and was more scalable. . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
