I have used many management systems over the years. PowerSchool is the best I have used thus far. It is user-friendly, intuitive, all-inclusive, and it works. I wish the IEP writing system blended better with the overall design. The grading system could also be more straightforward if there were one thing to consider improving, integrating a better IEP writing system and a better health system for the nurses. It has many features, good auditing and reports, excellent granular permissions, prompt support when called, and many add-ins to provide the functionality everyone needs. It seems someone is constantly accidentally breaking something. They are not keeping up with the times and seem to be stuck 8-15 years in the past sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. School Sync with Clever was a feature that made it easy to roster. I also liked the reporting tool Cognos that it used. Made it easy to create reports on the fly. When it was still eSchool Plus before the PowerSchool acquisition, the product was owned by Sungard K12, then was sold to another company, and finally ended with PowerSchool. PowerSchool led us to believe that we wouldn't have to change to PowerSchool, but as things progressed, it became more apparent that if we wanted some of the newer features, we would have to upgrade, which we didn't want to do. I think the program is very user-friendly and is multi-faceted. I really like that I can send out mass emails to parents, or I can choose only to communicate with parents of certain classes. I also like that there is a parent portal option where parents can login to see students' grades and attendance.
