I have used many management systems over the years. PowerSchool is the best I have used thus far. It is user-friendly, intuitive, all-inclusive, and it works. Compared to other systems, this one is the top of the line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much to dislike. I wish the IEP writing system blended better with the overall design. The grading system could also be more straightforward if there were one thing to consider improving, integrating a better IEP writing system and a better health system for the nurses. It has many features, good auditing and reports, excellent granular permissions, prompt support when called, and many add-ins to provide the functionality everyone needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product has about the highest downtime of any product we use. It seems someone is constantly accidentally breaking something. They are not keeping up with the times and seem to be stuck 8-15 years in the past sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
School Sync with Clever was a feature that made it easy to roster. I also liked the reporting tool Cognos that it used. Made it easy to create reports on the fly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When it was still eSchool Plus before the PowerSchool acquisition, the product was owned by Sungard K12, then was sold to another company, and finally ended with PowerSchool. PowerSchool led us to believe that we wouldn't have to change to PowerSchool, but as things progressed, it became more apparent that if we wanted some of the newer features, we would have to upgrade, which we didn't want to do. eSchool state reporting, mark reporting, student summary data, scheduling, discipline Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some tasks/processes could be simplified Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it is reliable, organized, and that I can manage attendance and grades all in one place. Overall, I love that powerschool works together with multiple aspects of education management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some times when data does not save correctly and will glitch, but those times are rare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything is located in one place--attendance, gradebook, student records, and behavior management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be a little difficult to navigate at times, it is not always easy to figure out without a lot of trial and error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
User-friendly interface; shortcuts for taking and verifying attendance and uploading interim progress report and report card data. Ability to run various reports for classroom management and student data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
System hangs/takes a long time to load pages when there is increased user volume. This typically happens during county-wide deadlines for grades. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the program is very user-friendly and is multi-faceted. I really like that I can send out mass emails to parents, or I can choose only to communicate with parents of certain classes. I also like that there is a parent portal option where parents can login to see students' grades and attendance. I really like that I can set up the gradebook to where student missing grades will automatically calculate as zeros. It really is an all-in-one system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system lags often, especially when taking attendance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a great way to keep track of grades and attendance. I like that it's connected to other resources within our school's systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It took me a while to figure out the program. I wish I had a more comprehensive user manual. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
