Things like your pace, filler words, and overall tone variation. Having a passive assistant like Poised to actively track this has allowed me to make huge strides in my own habits as a communicator. I particularly enjoy the Confidence and Clarity scores, as I often check them to see how I'm improving. **What do you dislike about Poised?** I think given it's such an early product, some elements aren't as refined. For example, sometimes the recording isn't playable via audio or Poised uses the wrong camera for eye tracking. However, overall I feel like it succeeds in the things I care about, which makes it a worthwhile service to buy. **What problems is Poised solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I speak in meetings, it's hard for me to gauge how well I'm speaking. Further, I often go weeks, not even thinking about how good I am talking. Poised provides a great way to constantly be aware of how my speech development is progressing and find improvement areas. ### 2. It removes my biases from reflecting on my own speaking and listening abilities and provides real-time feedback on a variety of skillsets that are often really hard for me to evaluate on my own. Even if I work with a coach, the coach is not present in my meetings and therefore Poised is an innovative approach that is much better than the way communication coaching is done today. **What do you dislike about Poised?** It's a bit unclear what makes my performance poor, okay, or great in some of the categories. A bit more transparency behind the secret sauce will help boost confidence in the ratings. **What problems is Poised solving and how is that benefiting you?** Improve communication skills for ICs, managers, and executives. Scale communication coaching for a fraction of the cost of alternatives, and allow the entire organization to grow in this regard vs. just executives. ### 3. It is extremely helpful in giving you feedback about how you're showing up in meetings. Knowing when I'm using too many filler words, not talking loud enough, or showing up with low energy is extremely helpful because it puts me in charge of my own communication. **What do you dislike about Poised?** If I'm busy, sometimes the poised pop up or issues with poise connecting can get on my nerves a little, but it's not more annoying than other software that causes similar fiction points. **What problems is Poised solving and how is that benefiting you?** Poised gives live feedback on how you're showing up in the meeting, which helps you adjust how you're showing up to be in line with the best version of yourself. ### 4. It integrates easily with most of the major systems (google meet, zoom, etc) and provides private guidance in a real time manner to help you improve how you present yourself and your message. I loved having prompts to talk slower, reduce filler words (um, so, okay, etc), up my energy level, keep eye contact...etc **What do you dislike about Poised?** Some of the metrics require some additional explaining if I am to buy in on how they are measured. Such as how they measure my "empathy" during a call. I would love to better understand how this is tracked. The biggest downside is the price point. At $19 a month, you are paying a premium for this service. I would think it should be priced at half that for mass adoption. This premium price point is why I will not be continuing after the trial period, unfortunately. **What problems is Poised solving and how is that benefiting you?** We spend most of our time on video meetings these days....poised is well positioned to help us improve how we communicate during those meetings and up our level of professionalism. ### 5. The insights are interesting to see how I stack up against peers in various areas **What do you dislike about Poised?** One thing I did not expect was how sad/offended I felt after seeing some of the meeting results. I'm not sure if I missed how to see exactly when I looked "disgusted" but apparently I looked this way in every single one of my meetings. I can't help it if that's just the way my regular face looks. I'm not sure I like how it grades my "energy" either. Being energetic won't always be the right tone for every meeting so I'm not sure it makes sense to be graded on this every time. **What problems is Poised solving and how is that benefiting you?** I transitioned to being fully remote and I haven't met any of my coworkers yet. The video call version of me is the only one my coworkers know of so I do want to be more aware of the way I communicate both verbally and non-verbally. It integrates easily with Zoom and Google Meet.
