Documentation could use improvement, but that's true on any platform. This is offset by Plainly's willingness to help and provide support - especially as we were first using the platform. Some of the script functions can be hard to understand from their descriptions - some graphic illustration would help. The project versioning system could use improvement. The tool enabled us to render almost 20000 individualised videos in a relatively short amount of time with relatively low cost which was a game changer for the way we as a company operate when it comes to content.

For my design team, I was looking for a solution to batch render thousands of videos with different variables on a daily basis. In our previous setup, this was the biggest bottleneck in optimizing the process. After some research online, we came across Plainly, and it seemed exactly what we were looking for: a batch cloud renderer that is seamlessly compatible with Adobe After Effects.

The team at Plainly had a streamlined onboarding process ready and presented a live demo tailored to our specific use case. After the demo, we received a trial period where I could test some projects myself, allowing us to adjust and streamline our workflow with Plainly. The platform is easy to use, and the team at Plainly very responsive and helped with any issues that come up.

After some back and forth, we optimized our process and fully integrated Plainly into our daily cloud batch rendering. The system is straightforward and perfect for our use case. I also had some suggestions to improve the usability and features of the Plainly platform, and they were very open to feedback and actually applied some of these suggestions within a few days.

Plainly also offers an After Effects plugin that allows you to upload your project directly to the platform. I highly recommend using this tool, as it gathers all your project assets and fonts in one go, saving you the manual work. Very useful!

There is much more possible within Plainly outside of our specific use case, as it can read all your After Effects layers, allowing you to make practically anything a variable. We worked with Plainly in 2023. Working with them enhanced our online visibility, particularly on Google, where our videos now feature prominently in the video carousel and main page results. We were able to create more than a thousand costumized Videos for the costumers of our client. I was amazed by the wonderful tech support that helped us to prepare the original file. Plainly allows you to produce large amounts of video content very quickly. A great advantage is that your content can be still very individual and on-brand due to the ability of using Templates made in Adobe After Effects.
