The support is outstanding and responsive - they genuinely care about their customer's success and are willing to help solve our challenges in executing our creative vision. Plainly is continually adding new features, many of which I can see are directly in response to client requests. **What do you dislike about Plainly Videos?** Documentation could use improvement, but that's true on any platform. This is offset by Plainly's willingness to help and provide support - especially as we were first using the platform. Some of the script functions can be hard to understand from their descriptions - some graphic illustration would help. The project versioning system could use improvement. But all of these are really minor things that I am sure Plainly will improve. Overall it's an excellent service at a very fair price. **What problems is Plainly Videos solving and how is that benefiting you?** Plainly is enabling us to create customized marketing videos tailored to individual consumers, at scale. We previously had our own "homebrewed" systems of individual After Effects nodes that were tied together with our own custom scripting. While this worked, it required a lot of maintenance, was difficult to monitor, and could not scale beyond 10 nodes. And that scaling required a lot of manual setup. With plainly, we have been able to reduce our processing time (renders + transcodes + workflow) by 320%, we've reduced our costs by 70%, and for the same spend we have 8x the concurrent render capacity. Plainly is everything we dreamed of in an automated After Effects platform. ### 2. Additionally the support from plainly was superb and the team helped us before and during implementation. Our teams found their way around the tool quite fast as well. We used plainly only for a one-time use case (although this use case might become a yearly one) and found a very fair pricing model for our needs. **What do you dislike about Plainly Videos?** When we used the tool for the first time in the fall of 2024 there were some minor technical difficulties connected to our use case. In our previous setup, this was the biggest bottleneck in optimizing the process. After some research online, we came across Plainly, and it seemed exactly what we were looking for: a batch cloud renderer that is seamlessly compatible with Adobe After Effects. The team at Plainly had a streamlined onboarding process ready and presented a live demo tailored to our specific use case. After the demo, we received a trial period where I could test some projects myself, allowing us to adjust and streamline our workflow with Plainly. The platform is easy to use, and the team at Plainly very responsive and helped with any issues that come up. After some back and forth, we optimized our process and fully integrated Plainly into our daily cloud batch rendering. The system is straightforward and perfect for our use case. I also had some suggestions to improve the usability and features of the Plainly platform, and they were very open to feedback and actually applied some of these suggestions within a few days. Plainly also offers an After Effects plugin that allows you to upload your project directly to the platform. I highly recommend using this tool, as it gathers all your project assets and fonts in one go, saving you the manual work. Very useful! There is much more possible within Plainly outside of our specific use case, as it can read all your After Effects layers, allowing you to make practically anything a variable. With our current plan, we easily render 700 videos within 15 minutes, as it renders multiple videos simultaneously. **What do you dislike about Plainly Videos?** here isn’t much I dislike about Plainly, and that has a lot to do with how they handle feedback and issues I experienced while setting up our new workflow. They were happy to receive feedback and helped find solutions for my specific use case. **What problems is Plainly Videos solving and how is that benefiting you?** Rendering 1000s of video within 30 minutes. Before we used Plainly it took us atlease 8 hours to do the same. So it solved our biggest problem: Time! ### 4. We inherited a dynamically generated video creative from a previous advertising agency for a new (to us) client, which was created in After Effects. There was an extremely difficult and finicky rendering pipeline, and we stumbled over our own feet for months trying to get something reliable which we could feed more or less directly into an ad server. And After Effects is not exactly our strong suit. I got about half way there using the platform myself, reached out to the team, and they got the whole thing running within a handful of emails. We render a video using an API call every 20 minutes Monday-Friday during EST business hours, and it has just continued to work without fail since it was put together. **What do you dislike about Plainly Videos?** Took me a few tries to realize why they have the features they have, and I started off doing things in a harder way than I had to. Specifically referring to the static link sharing here, which has been fantastic once I understood it.
