## About Oracle SD-WAN
The Oracle SD-WAN delivers a reliable high performing network for business critical Services. Business outcomes are highly dependent on availability and performance of enterprise critical services that span across geographies. Employee productivity is dependent upon constant availability and responsiveness of remote services from their location. In order to provide the highest customers satisfaction, services are highly dependent on the ability to deliver the services consistently and reliably even when infrastructure is compromised. The cost of operating and maintaining business critical infrastructure is highly corelated to the infrastructure’s ability to self maintain and self heal. The Oracle SD-WAN reduces the operational burden of provisioning, administrating, and monitoring the IT networks, as well as providing a safe and secure network from clouds to data centers to the edge.

  ### 8. No more sleepless nights!! Huge cost savings!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank R. | Manager Data Network Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Talari SD-WAN has provided us with a near bullet proof layer of service reliability which over the years has saved us tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost productivity, not too mention we had yet to miss a SLA since implementing Talari. Also, its worth mentioning that we have had a massive reduction in after hours conference calls, long hours waiting on carriers to restore service, etc. Our work life balance has never been better.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Currently all our Talari devices need to run the same APN versions, so upgrades are dicey. Its all or nothing at the moment and in our environment its extremely difficult to take enterprise wide outages. I'm told that is about to change soon though, but we still need to upgrade one possibly two more times before we are at that point.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Talari we used dual tier 1 MPLS networks in a primary hot standby setup, but the fail over process from one to the other always caused a service disruption not to mention dropped voice calls. With Talari we have completely eliminated these events and basically any and all service impacting type events. We are now at the point where we are about to see a huge decrease in our yearly circuit spend as we transition away from these expense MPLS low bandwidth circuits to just basic high bandwidth Internet circuits.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Hi Frank,

Thank you so much for the very kind words in your review. We worked hard to deliver superior products, services and support, and it’s wonderful to read such kind words of praise. Please feel free to contact us with any other suggestions or questions at oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

  ### 9. Covers everything we require

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

the best thing is letting the solution manage what it wants to do rather than having to create a policy based experience
deployment is easy and we have just moved to the zero touch for the remainder of deployments
Support when needed has always been great

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

dashboards need some work - just need to make them NOC screen worthy
few little feature that other vendors supply that are on the timeline but waiting on release

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

do your research on how your business is using the network, the harder bits are always hiding.
talari pre-sales are very good they will help you get the solution to work no matter how complex
decide is you want be more application driven or network driven when evaluating

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Network outages have significantly decreased
Bandwidth can now be increased on site with the mixture of media connected which means we can keep a single MPLS for SLA's but then bolt a large amount of basic internet off the back

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Thanks for the great review! We are pleased to know that you’ve found the product easy to deploy and have had good experiences with our Support team. We’ll pass on your feedback to our product team about some of the dashboards. If you have any other questions or comments, please feel free contact us at: oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

  ### 10. Excellent SD-WAN failsafe solution Talari

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesus David U. | General Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I like Talara SD-WAN failsafe because it is easy to configure, has a unique channel, and uses Talari's own protocol. It is the father of SD-WAN and has the eighth generation of software. I've seen it running and addressing WAN connection problems, plus it provides customers with visibility of their entire WAN network. It can be said to offer zero latency, zero jitter, and a quality experience for users. Talari is definitely recommended.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I dislike that starting as a small business is not well valued. Hopefully now with the support of Oracle, it will rise to the first place as it should be.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

The only way is to try this product and see the recommendations of customers who already use it.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The proposed SD-WAN solution will provide the following benefits:

1. All communication links operate in Active-Active mode.
2. Grouping of link types such as MPLS, Internet, and other technologies.
3. Improves the quality of service in the network, VLANs, etc.
4. Increases security through 256-bit AES data encryption.
5. Deduplication and low latency, packet routing capabilities, firewall, and load balancing.
6. Improves speed and data traffic, applications work faster, and there is no packet loss or low productivity.
7. A single configuration point and network monitoring.
8. Ability to use cheaper links than current ones, such as Internet with quality of service ADSL, LTE (4G/5G), VSAT, etc.
9. Calls (voice) are clear and uninterrupted.
10. If a link fails, users will not receive notifications of network crashes; the business continues without interruption while the carrier corrects the link problem, without crisis.
11. Talari allows for organizing and standardizing the NETWORK.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Hi Jesus,

Thank you for the positive response! We appreciate the feedback and are pleased to know that you had a great experience with the Oracle SD-WAN (formerly Talari) solution. I’ll be sure to share your thoughts with our team so that we may continue to provide you and the rest of our customer base with excellent support. ### 11. Review of Oracle SD-WAN Solution.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Oracle SD-WAN is very Good Cost effective solution. With SD-WAN we can have multiple links and use different links for different applications (Thanks to Application aware Routing).
SD-WAN's Zero Touch Provisioning features helps us a lot. Unlike Traditional Networks where it takes weeks and Months to spin up a new site, SD-WAN brings it very easy and we can light up a new sight with in couple of days.
Centralized Configuration Mgmt helped us to standardize configuration across organization.
We can get rid of Costly MPLS links.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Oracle SD-WAN need to mature more in terms of Software bugs.
Oracle need to have more powerful SD-WAN router for Cloud.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application performance have been increased. With help of Application aware routing, we are able to achieve more redundancy in our Network.
Oracle SD-WAN is cost effective solution as compared to traditional Network.
Centralized Mgmt of Configuration across all sites helped us in standardizing configuration across organization.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s great to know that you appreciate the application-aware routing and zero touch provisioning features of our SD-WAN solution, as well as its cost effectiveness and ease of use! Please feel free to contact us with any suggestions or questions at oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

  ### 12. Didn't perform

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I don't like anything about Talari. Even the GUI is all over the place and something as simple as a ping/traceroute is just so conveluted. give me a CMD.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Everything. We were told that it had firewall functionality, but it did not. It has super basic ACL's which didn't meet our need. We were told it did link aggregation. It did not. It just did fail over.
I don't think this was totally Talari's fault, but it was def. missold. Talari also didn't want to be held accountable for any issues pertaining to the device, but yet it was being considered a hardened device and we werent given access.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

Better deployment / onboarding process. I feel like proper guidance wasn't given and caused the project failure.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. I think and hope we are moving away from Talari.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Thanks very much for taking the time to review our SD-WAN. I’m sorry to learn that it didn’t meet your needs. We would appreciate the opportunity to get more detailed feedback on your experience. If you are willing to provide additional information, please contact us at oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

  ### 13. Very Good experience. Helps in deducting operational cost.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gagandeep S. | Network Security Engineer-3, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Automation, Central management, less operational cost, easy administration. Makes it very easy to add new Site to Deployment. Bring up of new site is very easy and less time consuming

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

To be honest nothing much. But I feel oracle shall create more organised documents for new learners. Certification can be launched for SD-WAN to encourage people to learn more and more about it.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applications performance have been increased.
Introduced redundancy in WAN and app aware routing is complementing it.
Centralised configuration management. Easy administration.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Hello Gagandeep,

Thanks for sharing your experience with our SD-WAN solution. It’s great to know that you appreciate the cost savings and ease of use. We also appreciate your suggestion on improving documentation for new users. Please feel free to contact us with suggestions at oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

  ### 14. Rock solid performance and reliability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian C. | Director of Information Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

The product immediately improved our WAN performance and reliability, eliminating outages related to a single carrier failure.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Some hardware changes early on in the deployment, but that has seemed to stabilize and we should be good on the current hardware platform for a number of years to come.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

Look into the software thoroughly but this is the best product on the market in my opinion.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WAN performance and reliability. We have been able to eliminate downtime due to carrier issues.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Hi Brian,
Thank you for the positive review! We appreciate the feedback and are pleased to know that you are getting great results with our SD-WAN product. Please feel free to share any further comments or questions via email: oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

  ### 15. Oracle SDWAN Experience

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

The end client cannot log a direct case with technical support. All the case will be opened by Partner.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

1. I have two Data Centres, 20 miles apart, connected by 2 X 10 Gig Dark fibres, giving 1ms latency
between the two. However, I can't HA the SDWAN box between DCs. I have other vendors running in
one big cluster and in HA at both DCs.

2. At remote offices I have directly terminated the internet circuits on SDWAN box, it doesn't have the capability to establish an IPSEC tunnel on its untrusted or trusted interface with a firewall sitting at another office.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

Use VMWARE a much better solution

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flexibility to load balance the traffic on multiple internet circuits, QOS, prioritisation, traffic visibility.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> I am sorry to hear that the experience you had with our SD-WAN solution was not to your satisfaction.

In response to your first point, Oracle can in fact support this. However, we don’t recommend it and prefer/recommend having HA pairs at each location – for two key reasons: Failure of the interconnect could result in both appliances becoming active, resulting in unpredictable network behavior The alternative approach using Geographically Diverse controllers would provide quicker and deterministic failover between data centers in the case of a major data center failure.

Your second point is incorrect. Oracle can and does support the ability to establish IPSec tunnels on either untrusted or trusted interfaces. We support policy-based VPNs today; we are looking into supporting route-based VPNs in the future.

For any further comments or questions please feel free to reach out to the Oracle SD-WAN team via email at: oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com. with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share.

  ### 16. We are an early adopter and still using the product.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin L S. | Director IT / Chief Strategist / Architect, Wholesale, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

The product works really well, is easy to configure and manage and the support is good. It has saved us more times than I can count when ISPs went down and it has allowed us to ditch expensive MPLS in favor of basic (less costly) internet pipes.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

As we move to bigger Multi-GBE Internet Pipes we would like the product to scale more easily. We recognize that Talari has to process a LOT of information to provide TRUE SD-WAN and are hoping to get cost effective Talari boxes that can handle this load.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

Everyone calls their product SD-WAN or NEXT GEN SD-WAN. Talari really is. Confirm that what the other guys are calling SD-WAN really is.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Uninterrupted connectivity between branch offices, 100% utilization of main and redundant bandwidth, a total cost reduction of ISP costs and better visibility.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Dear Martin,

Thank you for leaving us your wonderful review. We are pleased to hear that you loved your experience with the Oracle+Talari SD-WAN solution. I’ll be sure to share your thoughts with our team.

As you likely know, we value your feedback and strive for outstanding customer experience. We appreciate the kind words and look forward to hearing from you again. Please feel free reach out to the Oracle SD-WAN team via email at: support@talari.com with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share.

  ### 17. Oracle SDWAN: Failsafe and easy to manage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjay S. | Cyber Security Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Oracle SDWAN is easy to configure, we were able to get it up and running in almost 5-10 minutes. Some of the features like congestion control at source and monitoring the link both ways ( Upload/Download) is unique in SDWAN market which helps in delivering quality of experience.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Configuration update procedure could be simplified.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not applicable: been using this in testing environment.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Hi Sanjay,

Thank you for the positive feedback! It’s great to know that you found the product so easy to configure and are able to deliver quality of experience to your users. We will pass on your suggestion about simplifying the configuration update procedure to our product team. ### 18. amazing growth from using Talari

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roy B. | Network Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I love the mesh and the utilization I get from my global network - all my WAN links are being put to work.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

As Much as the Documentation is quite well done and could be considered complete at the release. upkeep of it does lag a little behind (Talari isn't alone in this, this is Enterprise space) and semi-frustrating. some of the newer features need more clarity as they are released.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we are a global company that needed better aggregation of data, and resiliency that IPSEC tunnels + MPLS were neither acceptable, or cost prohibited -

we have realized uptimes and utilization of bandwidth - at a level that frankly amazed us - we have locations that we expected hours of downtime a day, that have zero.

as we meshed and moved to Azure - we noticed the global improvements to local data access was noticeable.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Hi Roy,

Thank you for your response we appreciate the positive feedback. We are pleased to hear that you loved your experience with the Oracle SD-WAN (formerly Talari) solution. I’ll be sure to share your thoughts with our team.

We hear your critique regarding our documentation. We are currently pursuing efforts to provide fast and easy to understand updates for our SD-WAN solution. Please feel free reach out to the Oracle SD-WAN team via email at: support@talari.com with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share.

  ### 19. Robust WAN Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I like the consistency of the service my users can now expect. I run a huge amount of VoIP and in the past any sort of circuit outage or brownout caused major quality issues. That is all a thing of the past now. I get 99.99% excellent quality, regardless of what my WAN circuits are doing.

Talari's adherence to standards is also very nice. Since this is a book-ended solution it would be easy for them to lock it down with 100% proprietary mechanisms, but they don't. Talari supports OSPF and BGP. It has a nice MIB included, as well as standard syslog functions.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I dislike the fact that it mostly operates at layer 2. I understand why it does this, but I think making it a layer 3 target would make my design decisions easier.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

The Talari system seems to be going in a good direction. It still a toss up on whether or not Oracle is going to screw the pooch. They have a history of driving an acquisition into the ground. So far, they've been adding to the Talari team, rather than replacing them, so it seems like they are headed in the right direction.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VoIP and branch offices. I have dozens of small offices across the US with varying levels of ISP service. With the Talari the consistency, regardless of ISP, has been wonderful.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

  ### 20. Talari and our organization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim G. | Senior Telecom Engineer, Telecommunications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Flexibility of the technology and its ability to help us remove costly connections, (e.g: MPLS) from our infrastructure and maintain SLA on data services.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Configuration changes and limitations of the appliances when it comes to renaming the devices and having to reload the configuration manually at the far end. This has to be fixed.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are reducing costs by implementing Talari in addition to maintaining uptime for our offices enabling them to continue producing even when the location is affected by an outage that normally would be crippling to our business. Our SLA's on uptime have been met by implementing Talari for our remote locations.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

> Dear Tim,

Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Oracle+Talari SD-WAN solution. We’re sorry your experience didn’t fully match your expectations. Our customers tell us this is an uncommon instance and we’ll strive to do better.

Please feel free reach out to the Oracle SD-WAN team via email at: support@talari.com with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance.

  ### 21. Oceaneering Ultra-reliable wireless communications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

The ability to select WAN paths per application or destination as well as fail over between the paths. It allows us to use all of our expensive wireless WAN paths as well as provide fail over reliability to maintain up time.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

Dependence on the NCN. I would like a remote Talari box to be able to move between several NCN's, without user intervention, in a global maritime network with multiple HUB's(Datacenters) per region.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost effectiveness of having multiple VSAT links. Before it was procure two VSAT links and decide which traffic would take which path with a static on/off failover approach. Now we are able to decide that same path selectiveness but when one path becomes congested, traffic spills over to the other path. The failover between the links is much smoother than traditional routing failover.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

  ### 22. Talari is an excellent SD-WAN solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas P. | Chief Information Officer, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

As a Talari customer for 5 years, we have found their products very reliable. We use them as WAN aggregators with MPLS & DIA circuits, as well as seamless failover in the event of an outage.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

At times, the environment becomes quite complex to manage. You also loose some visibility to network performance when mixing Talari-enabled and non-Talari sites

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

The Talari SD-WAN product suite is an excellent solution for increasing bandwidth at remote sites and providing seamless failover in the event of a primary WAN outage.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redundancy & increase performance with inexpensive DIA

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leighton M. | Director, Infrastructure and Customer Service, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

They work. great in my environme.t. The failover mechanism is the best I've worked with. Now when any of my circuits drops I know about it before my users.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I like everything about the Talari appliances.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle SD-WAN:**

The Talari works.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not being able to produce and ship product because the network is down. We are also leveraging the Talari as a way to save cost associated with upgrading network lines (bandwidth). The Talari prioritizes traffic that solves that problem.

  ### 25. Great service for a great product.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

The best thing about our talari setup is the confidence it affords with our dual internet. I never worry anymore about weather our company will have connectivity due to local issues with our main provider.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I dislike the need to channel certain protocols through specific ISP's. It has been an issue with the multiple IP schemes and keeping everyone on a subnet that allows access to all devices while also providing high speed internet over Wifi.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backup connections have never felt more solid.

**Official Response from Timothy Evans:**

  ### 26. Talari has been an effective and affordable SDWAN solution for our business.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?**

I really like the way Talari handles the aggregation of commodity ISP connections to create a fast and efficient WAN.

**What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?**

The management interface can be a bit challenging, but with some training, is manageable.

**What problems is Oracle SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We move a lot of data between our primary datacenter and our D/R datacenter, all while providing application services to multiple other sites over the same network links. Talari gives us the traffic shaping and prioritization capabilities we need to make sure our applications are meeting the needs of our business.
