I also highly value the Knowledge Modules (KMs), which provide reusable, plug-and-play templates for common integration tasks, significantly speeding up development time **What do you dislike about Oracle Data Integrator?** The learning curve is quite steep, especially for developers transitioning from traditional ETL tools, as the declarative design and KM structure require deep technical knowledge. Additionally, the Java-based UI (ODI Studio) can feel sluggish at times, and Oracle’s technical support can be slow to resolve complex troubleshooting tickets **What problems is Oracle Data Integrator solving and how is that benefiting you?** ODI solves the challenge of integrating massive datasets across disparate systems like Oracle databases, flat files, and cloud applications. Its very robust as a platform and very stable interms of performance as well. And the fact that it solves the problem makes it a good choice **What do you dislike about Oracle Data Integrator?** The development experience on odi is very complex in comparison to modern technologies like Informatica Cloud or powercenter as well. There too much of code complexity as well when developing even a simple project with odi. Also the setup process and installation are quite complex in nature. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Data Integrator:** In this time i wont recommend ODI much as compared to newer technologies unless it solves a specific scenario which is not achievable or difficult with others. Also may be odi cloud can be explored but i have not yet used that product. **What problems is Oracle Data Integrator solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using odi for all our etl needs. For simple data trasfer between databases and different applications, transfering files with FTP and also with some REST connection we use odi to transfer data ### 3. Code services migration and version control can also be improved and streamlined for individual components due to numerous development items. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Data Integrator:** Is a good and powerful data integration tool because we can write in procedures jython code. The software is resuctable and easy to use. Version control approach in multiple environments should be properly defined. **What problems is Oracle Data Integrator solving and how is that benefiting you?** Has comprehensive data integration capabilities for real-time and batch designs. The ability to write code for jython and to manage code is excellent. If the user experience for the tool is improved, it would be great. It works very well with sqlserver, mysql and of course with Oracle. For staff who knows PLSQL, it's not hard for them to pick up ODI.
