Implementing and integrating OpenText Vertica is quite complex. It requires good level of knowledge to work on tasks. The vertica datawarehouse offers columnar store database structure capable of handling big data workloads unlike other traditional databases. In contrast to alternative tools in market, they have significantly smaller userbase and hence getting help from online community for issues can be challenging. After their acquisition from Micro Focus to Opentext, there have been few changes in layout in documentation as well as layout of UI, which creates additional learning curve.
