The most appealing aspect for me is the basic user interface. A newcomer with rudimentary knowledge of pressure vessels and heat exchangers can readily understand the user interface. Also, when trying to design a vessel, the thickness necessary is displayed in the right left corner of the screen before even launching the programme, which is useful when using the trial and error method for speedy design output in the early phases of a project. What do you dislike about Octave Aspect Pressure Vessel (PV Elite)? As feedback from feature users (more than 20 years), PVElite is the calculation software rather than drafting software. Suggest you concentrate on those functions of calculation to be ideally. Don’t make some low-class drafting function in PVElite to interrupt the primary operation of the analysis. Any new features may need time to trial and error by users practicing and may make users confusing. PVElite has had almost 30 years of history in the industry and market. You can’t imagine every year updating with many pages for those ‘changes. Even if for long-term use, PVElite is still “new”. It gives users a headache. Making money should not simply cater to the needs of some of the new users without professional judgment. User interface is very easy. It can be easily understood by the beginners. Codes like ASME Section VIII Div 1 codes can be easily understood through PV elite. The thing I like the most is the simple user interface. New person with basic knowledge of pressure vessel and heat exchanger can easily understand the user interface. Also while trying to design a vessel we get the thickness required in the right left corner of the screen before even running the program that's helpful when one is doing trial and error method for quick design output in early stages of project. I believe that we can not model a double pipe heat exchanger as a single assembly in PV elite. Whenever its requirement comes we have to find a workaround solution. One benifit I'll point out is the engineering hours we are saving by using the PV elite instead of doing some manual calculation.
