**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Nuke?**

Nuke has amazing camera tracking and matte tracking capabilities, which ultimately make removing unwanted scene elements a breeze. Camera tracks, lighting rigs, all can be painted out with ease.

**What do you dislike about Nuke?**

Extremely steep learning curve. If you're comfortable with software like Adobe After Effects, you'll have a head start here, but even as an advanced user, Nuke has a lot to offer that might be daunting at first glance.

**Recommendations to others considering Nuke:**

If you're fresh to the advanced compositing world, be sure to give yourself extra R&D time to get up to speed on the software. Tutorials and documentation are a must for efficient use of nuke.

**What problems is Nuke solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking and stabalizing shots, merging multiple takes, and masking out scene elements are all within Nuke's wheelhouse and gives our post-production workflow a much needed efficiency boosy.

There's a really big learning curve, it takes a long time to learn. Luckily there are plenty of tutorials online.

I love how I can composite surreal scenes and add geometry and volume to flat images transforming them into real looking scenes. I also really like how easy it is to learn this program.

**What do you dislike about Nuke?**

I dislike the lack of online community to help out with issues you face when wanting to use a tool inside the software. I also dislike that it's not connected to programs like AfterEffects to make things easier.

**What problems is Nuke solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software has allowed me to transform flat imagery into complex and detailed scenes which helps me improve my portfolio.
