It is easy to learn how to use the features to compose your first song or arrange a song. The menus provide explanations for those just learning. Playback is an excellent way to hear what is being written before the final product is completed. **What do you dislike about Noteflight?** The menus are in the way of the composition. They used to be above the composition. I also dislike the way the notes and rests are added manually. It took me some time to figure out the best way to accomplish this before using the keyboard. **Recommendations to others considering Noteflight:** This is much better than the stand alone software for music composition. You can get 10 compositions on a free account. For musix educators there is an educational version for studenrs to use. **What problems is Noteflight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do not have to handwrite my music compositions. I have realized that I am more engaged using Noteflight because the features are easy and I can hear what is being composed. If I am writing an original song, it is easy to bring up Noteflight and start composing. ### 2. It has an easy interface (easier than Finale) and it doesn't take long to learn the ins and outs of the software. My husband marvels at how fast I'm able to input music into Noteflight. I can print out copies of my scores for my students, or go back and edit them again later. I can listen to what I've written and play it back over my computer audio. **What do you dislike about Noteflight?** The standard level of Noteflight is free, but there's a minimum amount of scores you can have at any given moment. If you need to create another score, you'll need to delete old ones. There are also several "cool" features that are unavailable in the free version. **Recommendations to others considering Noteflight:** Give it a shot! You'll be able to get a great grasp on the software with the free version before making the jump to premium. I've been using it for years and am still using the free version. **What problems is Noteflight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can modify lesson plans by creating my own scores with Noteflight. If an example is too tough for my students, Noteflight helps me differentiate for all types of learners. I also use the software for church purposes. As a music director, I am constantly using Noteflight to transcribe mass settings for my church. I can easily transpose difficult settings at the push of a button. ### 3. Makes composing and transcribing fun and easy! I love that it plays each note as you record it and you can play the whole thing back at any point. Perfect for my needs. **What do you dislike about Noteflight?** I can't find a way to change settings so the coloring should be more user friendly. The current colors give me a headache. **Recommendations to others considering Noteflight:** Give yourself time to get used to its interface, it's worth it! Especially since you can start off free :) Go ahead, get creative - you may even learn new things here! **What problems is Noteflight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allowing me to create music sheets when necessary. ### 4. It helps in my classroom when composing music for my students! **What do you dislike about Noteflight?** One thing I don't like is that the app has been known to suddenly crash from time to time. **Recommendations to others considering Noteflight:** I would recommend researching other apps like I did. But I found that Noteflight was the best designed and most user-friendly apps that met the needs I had. I really liked that I was able to provide feedback to my clients too that was both productive and meaningful. **What problems is Noteflight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it in my tutoring and in my classroom to compose music for my students.
