Lots of protocols support, easy to use, easy reporting , perfect graphical representation with the Analysis feature, user interface is much better than similar tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Expensive as compared to other tools in the market, TruClient protocol - browsers needs to improve (does not work as intended always) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Good use of human time. No peer tool which supports SQL Server, Oracle,Java, Web etc. Identify bottlenecks of hardware, software, infrastructure, memory etc using good analysis window for response time and throughput. Separation of script, generator, controller and agents. Set ramp up and ramp down strategy as needed.Agent can do things like IP spoofing to make look like load is coming from diff machines. Checkpoints can be image or text. Rendezvous points instruct users to wait during test execution for other users in order to perform the tasks simultaneously. Love that! Tool is not open source and expensive. Also Vuser scripts saved in C which is case sensitive. You need to be really cognizant about co-relations planned to be used. Protocol advisor could have been more helpful. Also make sure caching is disabled while running tests. Configuration is little tough to figure out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to manage all the phases of performance testing and ease to maintain scripts in loadrunner and all types of applications support is available in loadrunner. The Analysis provided by loadrunner post completion of execution is the best and very much in detailed which helps resolve performance issues and bottleneck easily.
The ability to convert fiddler file into loadrunner is one of the best feature implemented in loadrunner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
sometimes loadrunner misses few request during recording a script which might leads to the script failure. Sometimes we faced issues while analyzing the results in loadrunner which leads to complete failure of test which is a more time consuming task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With LoadRunner thousands of virtual user can be simulated with consistent and repeatable load on the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface can be improved.Should have an option to see test results live for a particular user than overall response time of the load test. Include integration capabilities with other APM tools like Dynatrace and AppDynamics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple to utilize/learn interface. Numerous choices accessible to make the custom test contents and test situations. Wide assortment of conventions that covers dominant part of candidates types. All and every one of the a generally amazing device that meets all execution testing needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't think about any of the drawbacks. Be that as it may, if need to call attention to, I would state that test results should indicate data at each layer of engineering like reaction times at application, web, middleware, DB layer and so on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tool works for all types of application like Web, SAP, DBMS, AJAX, Mail server etc. and the reporting is best in the market. Although there are freeware tools like Jmeter but all those needs lots of customisation Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Performance center hangs often and need to close and start freshly, its not a system issue. Some are known bug in older version Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Conversion to monitoring very useful with very intuitive UI.
Easy to monitor and implement tests across different machines.
Also very easy to setup new machines and add to monitoring.
Easy to configure changes to schedule or SLA to existing monitoring.
Easy to customize notifications based on location, user, transaction, or other filters, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Support can be lacking and unresponsive not an open schedule.
In constant need of upgrades/patching.
Support for old versions is lacking and constantly pushed in different directions when the tool is not meeting the needs.
The inability to run custom code from a jar file for monitoring items not specific to a web based protocol and focused on for example oracle monitoring needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to have multiple protocols available to test them before buying a specofoc license.
The flexibility these protocols offer is amazing, I was able to test different technologies without issues (Angular 7, jsp) from the UI or backend perspective (HTTP, Wevservices, JSON, WSDL, etc).

The newer interface 12.xx are little bit bussy but still ok. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use/learn interface. Many options available to create the custom test scripts and test scenarios. Wide variety of protocols that covers majority of applicants types. All and all a very good tool that meets all performance testing needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can’t think of any of the down sides. But if have to point out, I would say that test results should show info at each layer of architecture like response times at app, web, middleware, DB layer etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is amazingly intuitive and easy to learn. Great report data tools for the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price is on the high end of the load testing tool spectrum. It is however a very high quality tool, so I guess with this product, you get what you pay for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Loadrunner is by far the most effective and versatile load testing tool. Supports various protocols. Very strong analysis and customizeable reporting . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The licensing cost is something that makes customers not to choose Loadrunner and move to open source tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LoadRunner is a wonderful and powerful tool with which the workload of various business processes can be emulated to determine expectations. It provides the ability to determine how a system will perform before going live. Once the bottlenecks are identified, they can be addressed. Also, when expectations are known, then they can be managed for when real users are on the system Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There really is not much to dislike regarding LoadRunner.
The only thing to maybe dislike is the licensing structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The multiple protocols that it supports and the ease with which Test scripts can be recorded, Tests run and Results analyzed for concurrent users .
Easy integration with HP suite of tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tool cost is on the higher side when compared to other Performance Tools.
Re usability of the scripts can be challenging . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Load Runner has been a Gartner's leader in performance testing tools for some years. I like how flexible Load Runner is developing testing scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Load Runner is windows oriented, i´d like be able to Mac or Linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
versatility, support, ease of use, cloud support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Extremely expensive, upgrades are a nightmare, complicated installation procedure. No built in monitoring solution. Everything has to be purchased and implemented separately leading to a lot of delays and additional costs. Support, though good is extremely expensive especially if you need 24 x 7 support. Administrators must be experts, else installation, upgrades and regular maintenance will be a very painful task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Performance testing is a type of non-functional testing activity that is carried out to determine an application’s response time, behavior and overall performance. LoadRunner is one of the most widely used performance-testing tools since it uses minimal hardware resources and is extremely efficient. Flexible and versatile scripting engine to extend tests with success-failure checks, thus making testing more intelligent. Ramping of many concurrent users to make the most representative testing possible. Integration of external measurements in test scenario's. Extensive vendor documentation and help system included. Extensive experience and support on various fora, blogs and many other support resources. Good availability of expertise in the form of programmers and hardcore testers. 1) Cost is the major factor that should be considered by HP because it prevents many users from using this product. Despite many advantages of Loadrunner, other open source alternate solutions like Neoload are mostly used.
2) It takes lots time in scripting, if the test cases are very complex, it can take even days to make one script. Re-usability of these complex scripts also becomes a complex job, mostly when the application build are changing frequently. The tool always demands a script modification or re-scripting, in case of changes in application build.
3) Complexity. LoadRunner is not simple to learn by installing it and "doing it". Especially when using different data sources to do cross measurements of system performance. Performance testing with a tool like this requires planning and skilled resources. Fortunately these are easily acquired these days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
