We quickly learned that our product engineers are changing source schemas much more frequently than we ever imagined, so we had to spend some time managing our alerts to focus on the highest value targets so we weren't overwhelmed. It's very easy to set up connections and provides immediate observability into your warehouses. Metaplane makes all the tedious tasks of collecting informational metadata from each of your connected databases viewable in one place. Continuous improvement in test models provide fantastic anomaly detection. Before Metaplane, we had spent a lot of time building internal tools to monitor the data quality in our data warehouse; then, we found Metapane! Their platform did what we were doing and way more! Our attempts to scale Metaplane and incorporate a larger portion of our critical areas for observation have been less successful. Our platform has many batch processes that leave an audit trail, and we're using Metaplance to provide us the quick insight we need on the status of such critical jobs. It's easy to setup such monitoring on metaplane, than use other tools to do the same job. Secondly, through creative observation checks, we observe our data to look for abnormalities, and meta plane makes it easy to incrementally improve the coverage of such checks. Metaplane is quick to set up, easily customizable, and integrates well with nearly every mainstream tool across the data stack and in incident management. The user experience for managing intended data anomalies. It's not clear whether I should mark a deliberately-created data anomaly as normal, anomalous, or to acknowledge (snooze) for a set period.
