## Maven Reviews
 ### 1. Review of Maven expert network platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott H. | Quality Systems Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

What stands out to me is their vast network of experts. I also really like the user interface—it’s easy to navigate and feels straightforward to use.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Sometimes the network feels too large, and there are simply too many people to choose from.

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Be very specific about the qualifications you’re looking for, so you can attract the best candidates and review them upfront.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I need to procure an expert on almost any topic, I can usually find someone who can help answer my questions. Whether it’s a highly complex problem or something simple that I just want to validate, I’m generally able to connect with the right person.

 ### 2. MAVEN WILL NOT PAY EXPERTS!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ferwa M. | Dermatology Physician Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

They send appropriate consults and surveys based on my expertise.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

ALL EXPERTS BEWARE: THEY WILL NOT PAY YOU! I have consulted for them on a multi-step project about 4 months ago now and still have not received payment. They keep stating that they are waiting on the client but 4 months is an extremely long time frame. I feel that they have used my expertise for free and they will not pay me. There is no customer service phone number to reach them. You can only reach them by email. I have emailed them now and they are not responding. At this point I'm sure they will not pay me and I will not be doing anymore consults with them until I have received my payment.

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Do not use Maven as an expert consulting company. There are many other expert consulting companies that will pay their experts and value them.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are connecting experts with businesses to provide more information.

 ### 3. Access to Global Expertise, Needs Better Vetting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

I find it useful to have touchpoints with lots of different experts worldwide that can feed into our insights. It's really helpful that we can have continued relationships with the experts for more consultations, and it's reassuring to know that NDA and confidentiality are covered within the platform's agreements. I like that you can choose who you talk to based on their response to your question, which helps in filtering down to the most relevant people. Having more experts would always be helpful to ensure that we get the best caliber of people for our specific research questions.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Sometimes I feel like some people were not the best suited and would call themselves an expert with very limited experience. Sometimes it was hard to understand which people were truly experienced.

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

To ensure that you filter effectively though the consultants before arranging to meet with them as some of them are over confident with their knowledge but are likely keen to sell themselves or their consulting company

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Maven to connect with global experts, gaining diverse insights into perception research. It helps my team understand academic perspectives and potential collaborations, ensuring confidentiality through built-in agreements.

 ### 4. Payment Process Issues Overshadow Maven's Potential

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohit G. | Chief Manager - Government & Institutional Business, ( Chandigarh, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

I find Maven's detailed projects valuable because they collect holistic information. I also appreciate the relevant projects they provide, especially if the payment process is streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

I have been participating as an expert in this domain, but the payment part of Maven is the longest and most cumbersome. I'm struggling to get a payment from the past month, and all I know is there is a 'technical problem' in processing the payment. The status of the problem and timeline for resolution is absent. I am inclined to decline future opportunities as getting a payment becomes a headache with Maven. I regularly face payment issues with them. I would suggest they improve the payment process by reducing the turnaround time.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven provides detailed projects that collect holistic information, but the payment process is a headache, often causing delays and frustration.

 ### 5. Exceptional Expert Network with User-Friendly Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan A. | Founder & President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Our clients like the self-service nature of Maven Research, which allows them to specify the type of interviewee they are looking for. It's helping our clients complete their projects more rapidly and explore unfamiliar markets. The cost of Maven experts seems lower than other similar services. We've enjoyed working with the people at Maven as they are very friendly and helpful. I think if Maven can continue to make their self-service expert search user friendly, it would be appreciated.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

No complaints

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven connects our clients with industry experts, speeding up their projects and helping them explore new markets. They value Maven's self-service expert search and find the cost of experts competitive.

 ### 6. Great Interview Quality at a Reasonable Price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yu Chen L. | MBA Candidate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Reasonable pricing (with regards to the quality of the interview we got)

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Probably the talent pool is still on the smaller side

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Unlike many expert networks that require large subscription commitments, Maven uses a different pricing model. This makes it particularly suitable for students with limited budgets who want access to high-quality expert interviews and the opportunity to tap into professional networks when cold outreach isn’t working.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provided a project-based template that allows us to input our needs and specifications in detail, so that we can identify a highly suitable expert for an in-depth interview.

 ### 7. Easy to Use with Top-Notch Expertise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David d. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Ease of use, quality of expertise, responsive and professional customer support team

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Sometimes they don't have experts in the (very very specific) area we need

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Some areas have fewer experts than others, so have a few test runs to see if it works for you. Otherwise, don't hesitate!

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides subject matter expert consultants to answer our questions on a very broad and varied range of technologies and markets. We are a technology transfer and innovation department at a University, so in our case we are mostly looking for customer discovery/product and market validation.

 ### 8. Excellent Expert Access and Fast Support for SMBs Experts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Maven?**

- wide coverage of expert, specifically experts who work for SMBs (Indeed, I failed to find experts of this segment in other platforms)
- small amount of minimum usage (other platforms require you to pay a lot up front, for example, 10k USD)
- quick response from its consultants (you may have it with other platforms, but this platform also has it)

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

UI design of this platform is not best user-friendly, but Maven consultants helped me quickly so I did not face a serious problem

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As it is an expert sourcing network, it helps me find an expert of my interest

 ### 9. resolving transactions issue

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

 ### 10. Good service and access to expertise

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason N.

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

I like being able to create targeted interview campaigns with subject matter experts. I also like being able to validate the expertise for the interviewees myself. Maven account rep was always helpful in setting up projects and troubleshooting. Maven team also actively recruited people when expertise was not available in their consultant pool.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

There are extra charges for videos and transcripts. This should be included in the service. Interview participants were sometimes nowhere near the correct expertise, although this improved with time.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Market and user research for AI software products in the water industry.

 ### 11. Great expert network!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting

The user interface can be a bit confusing at times.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven has helped us connect with the right people to answer our questions. It is a valuable tool in our research.

I have no dislikes. It's a great platform.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 13. A quick way to learn a new area, directly from experts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

It was really fast and efficient (much faster than if I had tried to find and coordinate expert interviews on my own).

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

I feel like I could have conducted my research on my own basically for free (but, as acknowledged in what I like about Maven, it was way more efficient to pay for their service, and worth it in my case).

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Maven is pretty straightforward and easy to use, and they also provide active customer support which makes things even easier.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven helped me with customer research; I used Maven to not only verify that a certain type of customer would be interested in my product, but also how to think about marketing to them.

 ### 14. Product Lead

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajesh K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Flexibility of working with them, speed of response and pricing models

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

The lack of a deep global footprint and depth of their rolodex.

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

There are going to be some in the panel who may not ring what you are looking for in terms of knoweldege/experience and insights. Rate them appropriately and reduce the chance of getting them again.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with subject matter experts
Getting current, real-world insights

 ### 15. Exceptionally Responsive and Proactive Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

I like that they are very responsive to my requests and prompt about starting up projects

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

There are areas where they don't have a wide network of experts, so sometimes they are less helpful

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They do a good job of connecting me with people with relevant experience in markets that I am researching

 ### 16. Excellent Resource for Finding Targeted Industry Experts

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

While it can take some time to find the right fit, the platform may struggles a little bit to find very niche experts

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven has been great at finding experts in the specific vertical I’ve been working on. For our most recent round, they connected us with knowledgeable professionals who provided valuable insights that directly informed our product direction

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven has been extremely supportive and responsive while providing expert network for B2B panel research. They supported our project with solid data. Highly recommended for anyone who are looking to gather quantitative insights.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven provides an efficient way to connect with knowledgeable professionals and quickly get the insights you need. The tool also lets you select the experts you want to speak with, and the built-in availability feature makes scheduling seamless.

 ### 21. Quick connection to experts for insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

The wide array of expertise on the platform was baffling, and even with our very very specific request there was still someone who could help

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

A lot of the experts are consultants and use the platform for advertising, so getting any useful information is difficult

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Be very very specific with your request so the Maven team can connect you with the most pertinent people.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company needed more market data and insights on our product from experts in the field

 ### 23. Flexible and useful sourcer of expertise in any field

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamas P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Direct communication and flexibility in terms of fees - I didn't want to spend 10k EUR+ without having prior experience with the agencies. At maven with only 500$ deposit I managed to source a full list of experts and I only had to pay the difference afterwards.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Hard to highlight anything , but one particular surpise was that Zoom meeting recording costs 1$/minute, which seems odd of a fee - since I could record it for myself, but of course that's a rounding difference compared to the added value.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed experts from all over Europe as a strategy boutique consultant based in Hungary. Maven was direct in the communication, even though I was cold calling them KAM was handled in a full professional attitude.

 ### 24. Seemless experience in finding expert help

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Maven?**

It was a quick, user friendly and professional help to serve our needs.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

No negative experience, everything was to our satisfaction.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed expert interviews to learn a new business area for considering potential investments.

 ### 25. It's Like An All You Can Eat Buffet for Knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott S.

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Our interviews are 30 minutes. We get in, have a dialog, and get out. Easy as pie.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Not all experts are created equal. Fortunately, it's not a huge time sink (only 30 minutes) when there's a mismatch between expertise and expectations.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team gains insight by talking to experts. Unfortunately, our company has lots of bureaucracy when trying to compensate experts for their time. Maven eliminates that hassle. We pay an annual subscription fee once, and they do the rest. We have tapped into the network on a variety of specific topics as part of our foresight, strategy, and planning processes.

 ### 26. Well run consultant program

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 27. Used Maven to help a portfolio of early stage startups perform market and customer discovery.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick G. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Maven makes it so easy to find an expert and schedule a time to talk. Maven is the "easy button".

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

I would like to see Maven get the word out about their offering for the use-case of early-stage startup market/customer discovery.

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Compare the time, cost and quality of finding the right experts with Maven to the time, cost and quality of finding them yourself.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest challenges in an early-stage startup is learning about the, players, competition, trends and customer needs in a certain market vertical. This can be a tedious and time-consuming process involving cold calls, cold emails, LinkedIn requests, etc...and even then, finding the right people to talk to can be impossible. It is so difficult that many startup founders just don't do it. Maven is a god send in this area. With Maven's vast network, an expert is just a phone call away. This expert access can cut the time required for market and customer discovery from months/years to days/weeks and can be the difference between success and failure for an early-stage startup.

I ran a startup accelerator, incubator and investment fund. We had a portfolio of around 150 early-stage startups. We provided legal services, incubation space, mentors, coaching and investment for these startups. The most valuable tool that we provided to this startup portfolio was Maven. Founders could quickly perform market discovery, customer discovery and assess product market fit in just a few weeks. Maven's benefit to the entire portfolio was enormous.

 ### 28. Maven was an excellent resouce to conduct customer discovery for our start up

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kurt Z. | Cofounder, President

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Maven performed thorough quantitative and qualitative analyses with multiple industry experts that provided us with valuable customer discovery insights. Their work was instrumental in our startup being selected for an academic fund award.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

The only downside is that some of the Maven experts weren't as knowledgeable about gene therapy as we needed.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to hear and understand from gene therapy experts their view on the gene therapy landscape and how our technology could make a difference.

 ### 29. Expert Connection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anusha K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

The mainof USP of working with Maven is they can source the expert on all niche and industry. It is like one stop shop for connecting relevant experts.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

They only source formal experts not the one who are currently working in the targeted company as an employer

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven has great connection of experts. They have helped us to connect with different experts on different projects.

 ### 30. Excellent market research solution

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Toni and the team was outstanding with their approach and patience, as we refined the survey and then cut the resulting data in many ways.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Just the cost of the survey, but similar cost to other firms.

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

none

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

primary research, identifying target responders and qualified candidates, delivering and then a deep analysis of that survey

 ### 32. Maven connecting professionals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vira B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Maven is different! First,I was a bit sceptical about how it's all gonna work sn its value, but it turned to be a fantastic tool. And I was able to receive a valuable professional insights real quick. The way they do this differs in a better way compared to traditional and often costly onsulting methods. Maven ultimately saved me both time and lots of efforts/money.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Maven?**

The extensive network has been great. We have been able to reach the audience that we are focused on, generate statistically significant samples, and develop comprehensive reports to help us make business decisions. They have allowed us to have access and control over the underlying data and a price that has been about 50% less than some of the other vendors that we used previously.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Sometimes the turnaround time can be a little slower, and we have to request access to initial results instead of having them readily available on demand. But compared to others, they have been great!

**Recommendations to others considering Maven:**

Make sure that you have a good outline going in. Take the time to really test the surveys when they come back. Definitely take advantage of the opportunity to interview experts.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Maven for a variety of topics, but most recently conjoint analysis and some win-loss work. We've also started using the expert interview service to help shape some of our upcoming work.

 ### 34. Quickly Completed our research with Maven's SMEs

**What do you like best about Maven?**

Quality of their panel experts. Excellent support by the staff.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

So far there is nothing to complain about. Pricing is not like at big panel / sample providers but worth the cost because of almost non existant junk respondents.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven provided access to verified subject matter experts we could not find at other panel suppliers. We couldn't have completed our research without access to the SMEs in the Maven panel. The Maven support people assisted in the steps of our research process and were knowledgable and supportive. Response time for all communications was QUICK. We have used Maven again for recruiting on qualitative groups.

**What do you like best about Maven?**

The speed of access and the quality of subject matter experts are remarkable. We are able to validate our hypotheses extremely quickly. The support team is professional, and the platform is easy to use and implement. I have frequently used them in my current company as well as in my previous roles.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

There is not much to dislike about Maven.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing subject matter experts was extremely difficult and expensive. With Maven, we are able to connect with C-suite experts, receive answers to complex issues, and validate our assumptions on product development at lightning speed and a fraction of the cost compared to traditional market research methods.

 ### 36. Adds a whole new dimension to market research!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohin S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Maven?**

The range - we research multiple industries a month and they have experts available in almost all of them!

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

At times, the experts are not the best quality or most insightful.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven is solving the problem of gathering hyper-specific insights directly from the market. When we complete due diligence on potential investments, online information, and databases can only tell you so much. By corroborating that with Maven expert testimony, we get a much better sense of the investment potential for these companies.

Maven is quick to kick-off projects, has excellent customer service, and has found us several experts from niche areas which are difficult to find otherwise.

**What do you dislike about Maven?**

Since the online portal allows for self-selection, there have been times experts have either misrepresented their expertise or it takes time to sort through various experts to find those that can really speak to our research area.

**What problems is Maven solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maven provides us with a network of experts that provide valuable information as an input to our market and technology projects.
