"Great fit for SaMD and IEC 62304 development"
5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

For a software medical device team, Matrix Req gives us a clean way to connect system requirements, software requirements, risks and test evidence. The traceability is particularly helpful for IEC 62304 activities because we can keep software lifecycle documentation connected rather than scattered across multiple tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

A few workflows require initial configuration to reflect the way your software team works, but that flexibility is also a strength. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very effective for verification and validation traceability"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

Matrix Req has made it much easier to connect requirements with test cases, test runs and V&V evidence. We can quickly identify missing verification coverage and understand which requirements are affected when something changes. That is a major improvement over manually maintaining a verification matrix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

The interface can feel information dense when a project becomes very large, although the structure is logical once you are familiar with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Options, Smooth Co-Working, and Powerful Search"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

Multitude of options that can be added to adapt the Matrix use to the company needs. Co-working on elements and revision on documents are also really helpful to track modifications. Research bar really helpful to find quickly an element when there are a lot of them (also with the filters). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

The matrix MCP with Claude seems a bit odd, not really easy to implement and integrate. When there is a big document to generate as a PDF, it takes a while, I have reached multiple minutes to generate a big PDF. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A huge improvement over Word and Excel for requirements"
5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

The biggest benefit is having a proper requirements database rather than relying on documents and spreadsheets. Requirements are versioned, searchable and linked to the rest of the design. It is much easier to understand the current state of the product and to see what has changed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

There is an adjustment period for teams that are used to working entirely in Word and Excel, but the benefits become obvious quite quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Responsive Support, Intuitive Product, and Great Jira Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

Very responsive team, issues or just calls for help are dealt with very quickly. The product itself is intuitive, I don't need to spend hours training new team members on how to use it. Jira integration is great, even our automation tools were fairly easy to integrate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

The text editors, especially the very limited spellchecks are complaints I get the most from the team. Depending on the forms being filled, a user can get two different editors on the same form which can be confusing as they work differently. Matrix doesn't work well in Edge; perfect in Chrome but it seems to have issues in Edge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Swift, Flexible Platform with Excellent Customer Service"
4/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

Swift performance, flexible application with lots of possibilities to tailor and tweak the setup, unlimited amount of projects, very good design control and risk management out of the box, excellent customer service. Matrix is not cheap, but it does bring us a lot of value and I do not see how we would run our business without such a system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

Steep learning curve, complex to set up, confusing system to use templates, limited training module out of the box, limited as a document control system, confusing DOC-SIGN system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful Jira integration without losing compliance traceability"
5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

We like being able to connect Matrix Req with Jira while keeping regulated requirements and design control information in a dedicated system. Engineering can continue using familiar development workflows while requirements, risks and test evidence remain traceable in Matrix Req. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

Integration setup needs to be thought through carefully so that responsibilities between systems are clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brings engineering, quality and regulatory teams together"
5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

Matrix Req has improved collaboration between R&D, QA and regulatory because everyone is looking at the same controlled information. Reviews, approvals, requirements, risks and test evidence are connected, so there is much less time spent reconciling different versions of the same document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

New users benefit from a short onboarding session because there is a lot of functionality available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Traceability Made Easy with Powerful Document Linking and Versioning"
4/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

Very useful to be able to see how all of the documents link together. When we need to create the traceability report for submissions it's super easy to show how everything is connected. Versioning is also very useful compared to other products I've used Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

No notifications when reviews are requested or automated reminders - have to frequently message people to remind them. Sometimes the UI/UX is buggy e.g. getting alerts saying I can't leave the page until I've submitted my changes when I haven't made any. However, this may be an issue resolved in the new v3 UI Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Well-Organized Documents with Easy Tables and Detailed Activity Tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Matrix Req?

It’s well organized and gives my documents a professional look. Adding tables easily is my favourite feature so far. Also tracking of every small thing everyone does is also informative for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Matrix Req?

It takes a lot of time to load a preview of a PDF, for minor changes and checking how it looks in PDF, it is a lot of time. Another small issue is it takes a bit of time to get familiar with the interface, but it's a minor issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
