"Fast, Realistic 3D Visualizations with Lumion Pro’s Live Sync and Asset Library"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

Lumion Pro makes it much easier to turn 3D models into realistic presentations without spending a lot of time on complicated rendering settings. I mainly like how quickly materials, lighting, vegetation, and environment effects can be applied to a project. The live synchronization with modeling software makes design changes easier to review, and the large asset library helps create scenes that look more realistic. Rendering images and walkthrough videos is straightforward, and clients can understand the final design much better through high-quality visualizations rather than technical drawings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

The biggest drawback is the hardware requirement. From my experience, Lumion Pro needs a powerful PC with a dedicated graphics card to perform smoothly. Systems with around 4GB VRAM struggled on larger projects, while 8GB VRAM or higher (such as an RTX 3050 or better) provided a much smoother experience. Large scenes can also consume a lot of GPU memory, and occasional lag or longer render times are noticeable on lower-end hardware. The software is excellent, but the hardware investment can be significant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Veronica Greenly of Lumion Pro

We're glad to hear that you find Lumion Pro's features, such as the live sync, asset library, and easy application of materials, lighting, and environment effects, helpful in creating realistic presentations efficiently. Thank you for sharing your feedback around the hardware requirements; we're always looking for ways to improve upon this.

"Powerful Renders with Some Limitations"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I use Lumion Pro for audio visual renders of spaces, classrooms, lecture theatres, and tenders. I appreciate the integration with SketchUp, where I can draw fast and quickly add materials and textures in real-time using the Lumion plugin. The ability to render videos in 4k, still images, and 360 panoramic views for AR use is a plus. The library of people and objects is extensive, and I really like the ease of use, speed, and rendering quality. It enables clients to visualize concepts or spaces as they might actually look and see how people might interact within those spaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

It's very power hungry on the GPU and PC, it is limited to the size of model you can import and work with; it struggles with large models and doesn't use true ray tracing like D5 Render. It's also overpriced and expensive versus D5 Render and the competition. Rendering 4K long videos is almost impossible as it cannot handle the length and fails regularly. The library of assets could be larger, more detailed, and focused on UK fixtures. Rendering emissive textures is not great and it glitches a lot over distance. It really needs a cloud rendering option and an option to export the completed textured 3D model into other formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Veronica Greenly of Lumion Pro

Hi Mike, we're glad to hear that the integration with SketchUp and the extensive library of people and objects in Lumion Pro is helpful. We hear your concerns about the hardware consumption and model limitations, and appreciate the feedback. If you're open to it, you can also submit your suggestions on our product roadmap page: https://lumion.com/product/roadmap

"Hyper-Realistic Renders with Easy Usability"
5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I love how easy Lumion Pro is to use. If I ever have a question on how to use something, I can always reach out to customer service; they are super helpful. Lumion Pro makes my renderings look hyper-realistic, which I appreciate because our previous program made them look very flat and not so realistic. Now, our renderings look almost identical to the finished product! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

Sometimes, when I update the 3D model, it doesn't update in Lumion Pro, which is frustrating at times since I am on a tight deadline. Another pet peeve is that the program forgets materials, so I have to re-enter them. It doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it's always the bigger projects with a lot of imported materials. Sometimes Lumion Pro has weird glitches that the 3D model doesn't have. I wish Lumion would label their materials, as in my business, it's important to know the species of wood I am adding to a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Realistic Visualizations Made Simple"
5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I use Lumion Pro to help my clients visualize their homes more realistically. It's also useful for quick walkthroughs during video calls. I find it very helpful for material selection, transitions, and creating realistic shadows. I like being able to landscape projects to give them a higher degree of realism and appreciate having a reasonable amount of furniture and items to add to scenes, which is useful for clients to see the scale of their space. I chose Lumion because of its simple, easy-to-use interface, and it's very intuitive without taking an online course. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

I feel the trees should be better named and categorized. Perhaps by world regions such as North-American trees, etc. I also feel the materials could also be better named. For example, having the species of wood noted would save a great amount of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Switching Between Different Material Types"
5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I like how easy it is to switch between different material types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

I wish there were an easier way to link a SketchUp tag or component to an object or effect in SketchUp, especially when I’m working on large planting plans. For example, it would be really helpful if a 2D symbol representing trees or plants in my project could be easily linked to a corresponding 3D plant or tree in SketchUp. Right now, I have to place each tree or plant manually in its spot, and that takes a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Visual Enhancements but Resource Intensive"
4/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I appreciate that Lumion Pro is free as a student, which is the thing I like most about it. The software enhances the visualization aspect, providing great effects that my modeling program doesn't offer. Additionally, I value the materials feature in Lumion Pro where I can add materials to specific parts of what I create. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

It's quite a demanding software, especially if you don't have a good enough laptop or computer. I also feel like starting on it with a blank slate doesn't work as well. You have specific templates, but there's always stuff in it, so when I want to make something in white space, I need to first delete everything and change a lot before I can work on my model. Also, importing maps through Google Maps with randomized building heights could be improved. If I know certain heights, I should be able to adjust the buildings to those specific heights. Initial setup was difficult because it's such a large and demanding file. My school laptop didn't accept it very well, struggling with the graphics. It wasn't clear how large the file size was, and I had to delete a lot to make space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Brilliance in Rendering with Lumion Pro"
5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I really like how Lumion Pro keeps improving in terms of quality, which saves me time because I don't have to spend as much time in post-processing to make the renderings photo-realistic. I appreciate the ability to create a book for my clients once the initial setup of the renderings is done. Utilizing real materials is another feature that impresses me, and I love being able to spin through the house in the render and provide my clients with views from anywhere in every room. It's very helpful to show my clients what they see when lying in bed in the morning looking out the window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

It could use more variety in realistic plants. My saved models did not open initially, I had to reimport them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UI and Instant Texture Changes Make Customization Easy"
4/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I find that Lumion Pro is thankfully easy to understand and to use thank to it's intuitive UI. The feature that I found the most helpful was it's ability to instantly change the textures on certain objects, which, paired with it's full library of textures, made the customization of projects easy and fun! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

Lumion Pro could at times be laggy and almost always had a fairly low frame rate, though I believe that this was more-so due to my PC's average specs rather than being a fault of the program as a whole. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Stunning Ray Tracing and Easy Material Copy-Paste"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Lumion Pro?

I like the raytracing effect, and I like that you are able to copy and paste materials easily. The pricing is quite a lot, but luckily my company pays for it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumion Pro?

I do not like that when you change a material in Lumion it changes all of the items with that material. Sometimes it can be useful but other time it is a bother. I feel like this should be something you can toggle on and off, so you are able to change each separate material if you would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Veronica Greenly of Lumion Pro

We're thrilled to hear that Lumion Pro is helping you with fast rendering and efficient object placement. Your feedback on the material change functionality is valuable, and we're taking note.
