LoadSEER Reviews & Product Details

LoadSEER is a geospatial electric load forecasting platform developed by Integral Analytics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Willdan Group (NASDAQ: WLDN). Purpose-built for electric utilities, LoadSEER enables distribution planning teams to forecast where and when electricity demand will grow — at the feeder, substation, and parcel level — across their entire service territory. Unlike traditional top-down corporate load forecasting approaches, LoadSEER uses a bottom-up, parcel-level methodology grounded in a licensed national building stock dataset covering the physical and energy characteristics of every building in the United States. This geospatial precision gives utility distribution planners the granular, location-specific insights they need to make defensible capital investment decisions, support integrated distribution planning (IDP), and meet regulatory requirements for distribution resource planning (DRP) and integrated resource planning (IRP). What LoadSEER Does LoadSEER integrates economic and engineering data in a single application, giving utilities a unified platform for long-range load forecasting, DER adoption forecasting, capacity headroom analysis, and multi-scenario planning. The platform models the distribution-level load impact of electric vehicle adoption, rooftop solar, battery storage, building electrification, and large load growth — including data centers — across multiple planning horizons of 5, 10, and 20 years. Forecasts produced in LoadSEER integrate directly with downstream power flow applications including CYME, Synergi, and the envelio Intelligent Grid Platform, eliminating manual data transfers between planning environments and enabling engineering teams to validate load growth assumptions within detailed network models. Who Uses LoadSEER LoadSEER is deployed at more than 25 electric utilities across North America, spanning large investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, electric cooperatives, and public utility districts. LoadSEER has been cited by the California Public Utilities Commission as a benchmark load forecasting application for Distribution Resource Planning and Hosting Capacity Analysis, and has been used in regulatory filings before the Hawaii PUC and Nevada PUC. Why Utilities Choose LoadSEER Distribution planners choose LoadSEER because it delivers the spatial granularity, scenario flexibility, and regulatory defensibility that generic load forecasting tools cannot provide. By combining a national building stock dataset with utility-specific AMI data, GIS data, and economic drivers, LoadSEER produces forecasts that reflect how individual feeders and substations will actually be impacted by electrification, DER adoption, and load growth — giving utilities the confidence to optimize capital investments and reduce planning risk. LoadSEER is available as an annual subscription or perpetual license, with pricing scaled to the size and complexity of the utility's service territory.
