I have tried out many frees programs online for beat making, LMMS was one that kept coming up in BLOGS online. I had tried several and happened upon LMMS because it looked a lot like beat making programs that usually cost a lot of money and require specific requirements. LMMS is on my laptop and I think there might be a mobile version. My favorite part is how many instruments there are available, as well as a keyboard and beat pad. The interface looks like Fruity Loops so it was easy to navigate. The layout was very familiar and easy to get used to with its universal transport controls and labeled buttons. Free is a great price but in this case, you truly get what you pay for. I paid nothing and got nothing. Maybe a future version will work for my interface? I just wish it worked with my iMac 2010 running macOS Sierra 10.12.2. It must have locked up my computer just about every time I tried to use it. At least 3 times. I didn't want keep hard restarting my mac to get this to work. It would not be worth having to repair my computer just to see if the software is any good. Not worth it. For Linux and Windows users, this is a pretty capable alternative to Fruity Loops Studio. It's also an open source software solution as well, so it's good for users who may be on a tight budget as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
