"Leapfrog Geo Delivers Fast, Confident 3D Subsurface Modeling"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

Leapfrog Geo has made subsurface modeling much more efficient for our projects. After importing borehole and well data, it quickly generates detailed 3D models of the rock layers, fault systems and contamination zones. This gives us far more confidence when deciding where to position drill rigs instead of relying on assumptions. I also like that it handles large geological models smoothly without putting too much strain on my workstation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

The biggest drawback is data exchange with other software. Exports options are somewhat limited, so I often had to convert files into compatible formats before sharing them with other applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast 3D Geological Modeling That Streamlines Team Collaboration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

What I like most is how quickly it converts raw geological information into clear 3D models. Importing drillhole data is straightforward, and whenever new data becomes available, the models update without requiring much manual effort. The visualization tools also make it easy to review interpretations, validate results, and collaborate with the rest of the team, which has made our overall workflow much more efficient. What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

The learning curve is probably the biggest challenge for new users. There are a lot of features and tools to get familiar with, and some important functions aren’t immediately obvious. Performance can also slow down when working with large datasets on less powerful computers, so faster processing for complex projects would be a welcome improvement. "Essential tool for rapid exploration model building projects"
4/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

The implicit modeling engine based on radial basis functions (RBF) creates complex 3D wireframe models within seconds of loading drillhole assays. Dynamic links automatically recalculate geological domain contacts on the fly with the addition of new field team directional survey coordinates. The orientation disks are processed with ease by structural data tools which are used to define realistic fault network cutting relationships across large deposits. What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

When the user exports the mesh in high resolution it consumes a lot of memory, leading to a sudden crash in the application for mid tier laptops. Manual selection of complex overlapping fault boundaries is a tedious process in deep nested object tree list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Geologist-Friendly Dynamic Modeling with Top-Notch 3D Visualization"
5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

For me Leapfrog is the most geologist-friendly software. Its implicit and dynamic modeling allow us to model with confidence without spending countless hours manually digitizing cross-sections. The dynamic updating feature is a massive time-saver; as soon as new wellsite logging or drillhole data comes in from the field, the model updates automatically. This is absolutely critical during active exploration programs. Furthermore, the 3D visualization capabilities (UI/UX) are top-notch, making it incredibly easy to communicate complex geological structures and resource boundaries to stakeholders. It truly feels like a tool built by geologists, for geologists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

leapfrog Geo is not built for mine planning or mine design. It currently lacks the dedicated engineering modules I would need for pit optimization, scheduling, or drill and blast design. My team and I have to rely heavily on its integrations to export the geological block models into other dedicated mining engineering software. Finally, I noticed the licensing cost is on the premium side, which might be a barrier for smaller operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Dynamic 3D Modeling and Seamless Collaboration in Leapfrog Geo"
4/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

What I like best about Leapfrog Geo is how efficiently it handles building and managing complex 3D geological models. Working as a resource geologist, the dynamic modeling capability is a massive upside for my daily workflow. Instead of manually rebuilding wireframes from scratch, the models update dynamically as soon as new drillhole data is added, saving hours of work. I also highly value its seamless integration with Seequent Central, which makes version control and collaboration incredibly smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

While Leapfrog Geo is excellent for rapid 3D modeling, one area that could be improved is its integration with external machine learning workflows and custom Python scripts. Because I frequently use Python to run advanced algorithms like Random Forest and XGBoost on mineralogical datasets, transferring data and results seamlessly back and forth between these custom scripts and the Leapfrog environment can sometimes feel cumbersome. Expanding its native API or Python integration capabilities would be a massive help for advanced data analysis. Additionally, performance can occasionally bottleneck when rendering or updating exceptionally large block models, requiring careful data management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Clean Workflow from Drillhole Data to Clear 3D Models"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

The biggest benefit is its ability to quickly go from raw geology data to understandable 3D models. It's simple to bring drillhole data in, and the models update quickly as you get new data. It's easy to view what is going on and check your work and have conversations with the team, has removed a lot of manual work and kept the workflow clean. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

The first couple of weeks may seem intimidating as there's lots of software and options to remember. A few key tools are less obvious, and larger tasks may be more processor intensive and take time to generate on smaller machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Proactive Risk Management with Real-Time Updates"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I really like Leapfrog Geo's ability to link real-time sounding data to the 3D model, it's truly impressive because it updates automatically when new data is uploaded from a field device. I love that feature, as it ensures my financial reports are always accurate and based on the latest available information. Leapfrog Geo allows us to move from reactive to proactive risk management, reducing response time and providing a continuous view of data, which drastically shortens the approval cycle and makes us more efficient in managing uncertainty. What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

I would like to see integration with financial tools, although it is excellent for geology, I would love a more fluid integration and navigation with financial modeling tools. The setup was somewhat complex, but from a data governance perspective, it wasn't just about installing; we had to define strict version control and database access safeguards. "Intuitive Leapfrog Geo with Phenomenal Online Training and Help"
5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

I'm almost exclusively use Leapfrog Geo for my job, I've had to train junior geologist on how to use it; what I enjoy the most about it is how intuitive the software is, once the user understands the basics of the software they can pretty much use it by themselves. Another thing is the available help and training online, I feel like leapfrog is one of the few software where the help bottom actually helps you understand all the possibilities with that tool and the online courses are phenomenal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

The base leapfrog geo program is not as open as other software on integrations and compatibly, some times it feels like some processes can be a little over complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Accurate 3D Subsurface Modeling That Takes the Guesswork Out of Drilling"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Leapfrog Geo?

Mainly this program helps us map out the under ground things such as faults and where contamination plumes are located therefore we don’t have to drill blindly. You put the well data in and it creates a 3d model of the rocks & soil beneath. It helps us determine exactly where to place our drill rigs without guessing and i am glad that it didn’t break my laptop while running it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Leapfrog Geo?

Honestly transferring data from Leapfrog Geo to other programs is a huge headache. They only allow certain formats to be exported from the program, so ultimately I end up manually converting the files and it takes way too much time. This guy sitting next to me has music playing loudly on his phone and it's killing me, but yes, the software could improve upon their loading data interface. It occasionally lags.
