KutchCAD Reviews & Product Details

KutchCAD is a specialized software solution developed by EDICAD, designed to streamline the process of generating quantity takeoffs and estimates directly from construction plans. By automating traditional workflows, KutchCAD enhances efficiency and accuracy for professionals in the construction industry. One of the core features of KutchCAD is its ability to reconstruct Building Information Modeling (BIM) models from imported plans in various formats, including DXF, DWG, PDF, scanned documents, and site surveys. Users can also create models from scratch within the software. Each project element within KutchCAD is linked to specific works intended for inclusion in the Detailed Quantitative Estimate (DQE). The software calculates measurements based on the dimensions of drawn elements, organizing them into precise calculation formulas. KutchCAD offers a range of functionalities tailored to meet the diverse needs of construction professionals. For instance, it facilitates the creation of location plans and site progress plans, aiding installation teams by highlighting the works to be executed. The software also includes tools for modeling frameworks, allowing users to install components like purlins, rafters, and battens on roof panels in a single operation, with parameters for sections and spacing. Additionally, traditional frames can be modeled in 3D views using pre-registered elements such as hips, braces, and punches. In the domains of plumbing and electricity, KutchCAD enables users to position equipment and draw connecting lines between them. Structures can be quantified by unit or in cost mode to determine the lengths of conduits and cables. Descriptions per item can be saved in the library, allowing for the generation of quotes without the need to draw 2D symbols. For facade work, such as plastering, painting, or cladding, KutchCAD provides a feature that transforms simple photographs of buildings into scaled geometric views. This functionality allows for accurate measurement of surfaces to be treated and the reconstruction of a building's full unfolded layout. A significant advantage of KutchCAD is its synchronization capability with estimating and project management software. This direct link ensures that any modification in KutchCAD is simultaneously reflected in the connected estimating software, and vice versa. This synchronization eliminates the need for export and import filters between programs, preventing errors and redundant data entry, thereby ensuring 100% reliable project references. KutchCAD is particularly suited for cost estimators, design offices, general contractors, and building trades professionals. It allows for the efficient performance of measurements and specifications on plans, which are automatically linked to quotation software, eliminating data entry redundancy. Users can import projects in formats such as DWG, DXF, SKP, or IFC, or redraw them from PDFs or scanned plans. The software also supports live building readings from laser meters or theodolites connected via Bluetooth, facilitates the creation of execution plans, and enables real-time communication with estimating and management software to generate quotes and disbursements. Additionally, users can establish work schedules directly within the software. For educators and students, EDICAD offers one year of free exclusive access to KutchCAD for educational purposes, providing a powerful, all-in-one tool with multiple features adaptable to various building and construction professions. In summary, KutchCAD is a comprehensive tool that automates and integrates various aspects of the construction planning and estimating process, enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration among professionals in the field.
