Kohana - A solid foundation for PHP projects **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Aum e. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021 **What do you like best about Kohana?** Kohana is a lean and swift legacy php framework that provides a solid foundation for php projects with a good routing engine, basic utilities and clean coding style. it does not enforce the user to follow any particular pattern and provides its own basic mvc logic. it also supports pluggable modules that can extend functionality, e.g using twig ot bladr templates for views, or using an alternate routing engine. its also allows overriding particular framework logic cleany by creating new files in its cascading file system, allowing simple extension of logic without modifying the core functionalty **What do you dislike about Kohana?** The framework is a bit complex but once you learn it, you get hands-on with the framework, you may enjoy several advantages mentioned above **What problems is Kohana solving and how is that benefiting you?** Revamping the code without modifying the core functionality within the framework is quite beneficial. ### 2. We faced a lot of outdated packages and very less support. **What problems is Kohana solving and how is that benefiting you?** A stable web app and it's CMS. Since both are in kohana we can develop it with minimum effort in a shorter timeframe. ### 3. It is easier to code oop, it has a good documentation and most of all it has built in security process that would prevent the system to hacking and it gives secured and quality products ### 4. The upside of kohana is that it is swift, secure, configuring Kohana is easy and scalable. **What do you dislike about Kohana?** Kohana community and forums are very limited. More features needed to be updated for enterprise development. **What problems is Kohana solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have built small websites to enterprise web applications using Kohana. Best part of Kohana is that it makes development faster. ### 6.
