## Kiddom Reviews
  ### 1. Great concept but lots of glitches.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like that all of the curriculum is available, and I can edit it to fit my needs. I like that my students can comment directly within the assignment. I like that students have the opportunity to draw or attach work in the assignments, as well as the other choices for problems. I like that the material is organized to follow the IM lesson progression. I like that Check Your Readiness is available for 6th and 7th grades.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

Many times we have had trouble logging in, and that causes frustration for my students. I wish that Kiddom had a way to assign via Google classroom. If I try to link to a specific assignment, it just takes students either to the login page or worse to a blank screen. When commenting on assignments, I wish the feedback had the option to be linked directly to a specific problem. That way I wouldn't have to identify which problem I am referring to in the assignment. The same would be great for students. I would like to have a way to easily view all assignments and scores that each student has in their account. I can see which ones have been completed but not the scores. I would like an option to assign something that is ungraded or not worth points. If I want to assign a lesson summary to my students just for reference, I still have to attach 1 point to the assignment which doesn't make sense since there is nothing for them to complete. I wish that the drawing tools were more user friendly. The pencil draws in a very wide stroke, and makes it difficult to work with. There is not a straight line option which would be helpful for students who struggle with dexterity. The presentations are not useful because they open in another application. It would be nice to have the lessons integrated so that students would see some material presented, then have an opportunity to answer some questions with self-checking or immediate feedback as they progress. I would like to have a student view that is easily accessible. For now, I have to go into editing mode to show the preview. When I present to my students, I want a quick way to show them what they see as a student.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am teaching students from 12 different districts, so Kiddom allows me the flexibility to assign digital assignments that students can access on iPads, Chromebooks, and laptops. We don't all have the same technology so this is important. Some students are using the app, which is great for iPads. The benefit is that I can communicate with students even though we are not in the same district.

  ### 2. Useful for tracking data and analyzing reports, but very time consuming to input scores

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

That the curriculum is already uploaded into kiddom

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

With math, it's almost impossible to have them test on the computer instead of on paper, because they can't show work. So having to input each score for each question for each student just takes way too long.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do a lot of the cool-downs of lessons on kiddom, and it just gets them prepared for online state tests and more.

  ### 3. Easy to use, but lacks features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott C. | Latin Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

It is easy to add new assignments, and the organizational structure (i.e. units, lessons, activities) fits well with how I naturally approach planning.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

Some of the largest areas to improve come from a lack of features or lack of data. It would be nice to have a discussion board or other means for students to collaborate. Additionally, Kiddom does show teachers when an assignment is submitted, making it exceptionally difficult to monitor if assignments were turned in in a timely manner.

**Recommendations to others considering Kiddom:**

Identify which features are most important in an LMS, then check if Kiddom supports those features.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kiddom has made it possible for me to keep all of my students accountable, and it allowed me to plan a little more effectively. The latter has been helpful because I am currently teaching students both in-person and distant for the same class.

  ### 4. 3rd Grade Teacher's Perspective

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ali L. | 3rd Grade Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like that the assignments are all online for students to complete-it's much easier to grade my remote students instead of just looking at an emailed copy of their workbook.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

It is still unorganized for me, and when it asks students to sketch on assignments, it doesn't allow them to. It requires a lot of typing and isn't the most user-friendly for students who are still learning computers.

**Recommendations to others considering Kiddom:**

Make sure your students are patient and are good typers!

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved the problem for remote students turning in their work. It's much easier for me to assign and grade their work on this website. This has been so easy for all students.

  ### 5. Kiddom continues to improve but still has a way to go to be all that you need in one platform.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like how easy it is to create assignments. They're are ways to embed videos so students are not going through multiple sites to complete the assignments. I love the new feature on assigning to multiple classes at one time.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

I'm not too fond of the lack of questioning types. There have been more question types added in, but it still lacks some. I also don't like that the amount of points for each question is set to 4. Finally, I wish students could see the amount of points each question is worth on their end.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kiddom helped me solve a significant problem on recording the questions and answers. They continue to improve based on teacher feedback.

  ### 6. I think Kiddom has come a long way this school year!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haylee E. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like that you can mass assign now! I also like the options that students have to answer the questions.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

That you can not mass grade an assignment. I also do not like that it does not have spell check on the questions.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can add charts into questions, and students can upload a picture of their work that they completed on their workbook.

  ### 7. Kiddom Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like how KIddom generates google documents for each student. I also like how the EL curriculum is embedded into the system.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

It is often difficult to maintain records without a designated place to keep grades and information. Also, being unable to pin assignments or announcements to the top of the screen. The process for assigning to the timeline is quite tedious at times because the assignments are not in any particular order (date, title, etc.).

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have realized that the connection to Google is helpful for documents.

  ### 8. Kiddom provides digital support for data collection.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharlene G. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like that the activities are linked to standards and data is collected and reviewed for student success.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

I dislike that there are times that the information within the activities is incorrect.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am having a problem with not being able to move students to different sections and maintain their records. I realize that Kiddom keeps track of the standards that are being assessed.

  ### 9. Decent functionality, too few features.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I kind of like the look of Kiddom and I like the landing page for students to see what they have due in each class on the first screen.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

There are not enough options for test questions, automatically grading quizes/tests and options with in the test format and questions themselves.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not sure I've solved anything with it.

  ### 10. Rubrics and Data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aja N. | English Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

Easy grading with rubrics (that students can see), which makes grading go by much more quickly; the subsequent data linked to specific rubrics and skills gives a much more meaningful, comprehensive picture of student learning than a simple letter grade (even if the grade eventually has to be boiled down to one score by the end of a semester or year).

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

I wish I could have a teacher-facing unit/lesson-planning tool... but I know that's in the works! I also wish there were an easy integrated way to leave comments on student work, like a comment bank I can set up and drag comments onto assignments as I'm grading. It would be cool if it were color-coded to coordinate with rubrics too, if an assignment is using more than one rubric.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me identify where my students are struggling, so I don't waste time re-teaching something they either already understand or can't get because they're missing an earlier step. I can also use it to show students how much they do know and how much they've improved, if they're frustrated by not getting a new concept.

  ### 11. Having trouble with simple teacher tasks

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob M. | Secondary Mathematics Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like the newsfeed format for the assignments which feels like current social media setups.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

I do not like that I am unable to switch to a grid mode for easier grade inputing and how the system does not allow me to make an assignment and quickly assign to all classes without first putting it in the planner.

**Recommendations to others considering Kiddom:**

Make sure you use Kiddom if you would like a whole system for assignments and support. If you only want a gradebook system you may need a different resource.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standards based grading allows for less overall grading and more focus on skills. Also, the grade readout of “on track” or not allows for easier conversations with students.

  ### 12. Kiddom makes personalized learning happen!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelley H. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I’ve used Kiddom in my 5th grade classroom for the past 3 years and love it. I’m able to successfully utilize personalized learning paths with my students because of the user-friendly features. I’ve shared Kiddom in district PD events and encourage my colleagues to give it a try!

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

I’d like to be able to drag and drop items in the timeline into a different order after they’ve been added.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Differentiation is a breeze. It makes my students more independent and has helped teach task management.

  ### 13. Positive Energy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colleen May D. | Teacher, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

During the PD session they had experts walking around making sure each teacher was at the right step before progressing on. They all maintained a positive and professional demeanor throughout the entire day.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

There was a little bit of a technical problem, which caused a little confusion among the group. However they were more then will to step up during that time.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that Kiddom creates rubrics that alone with the standards. That will make my life a hundred times easier.

  ### 14. Curriculum Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole M. | Math Teacher, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Kiddom?**

I like the open resources that are already created, so you don't have to reinvent the wheel. I also like that I was able to add my own curriclum as well.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

Some of the open resouces have the answers attached. This won't work for our students that we want to complete the assignments. There are some awesome lessons on learnzillion, but they are lessons and not activities per se for the students.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kiddom helps us with personalized learning. The teachers created curriculum and the students will choose which subject and skills they want to work on.

  ### 15. Developing user

I like that it is loaded with resources sorting by grade and subject that you can easily connect to standards and assign to students.

**What do you dislike about Kiddom?**

Although it was very easy to search standards, I did dislike the fact that I had to actually search for them.

**Recommendations to others considering Kiddom:**

Kiddom is very easy for those who are not tech savy.

**What problems is Kiddom solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving the problem of consistently using data to assign differentiated work. One benefit is being able to get an overview of student mastery by analyzing data.
