jQuery UI is kind of clunky, heavy, and out of date with all the new frameworks that have came out in recent years/months. Also with the release of HTML 5 it really isn't as necessary anymore as HTML 5 has brought a lot of the features offered by jQuery UI into native. It modifies the DOM directly, which means that if you are using it with any framework that does DOM caching then it will invalidate your cache and cause your application to slow down.
