## Jest Reviews
  ### 1. Jest is a good and easy to go unit testing framework

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohini V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Jest?**

Jest is a testing unit framework for Java - an open source software, a very handful expeirence using its application. It majorly helps in unit testing and acceptance testing the client side's web applications, just that the source code should be available in Javacript. Also, the way things has been explained in their application is commendable, makes it very clear and explainable at once. Lastly, the documentation available on their application is appreciable, highly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

Jest application needs to gear up when it comes to load a bigger code, because it sometimes hang in between or takes a longer time, which makes it difficult to continue further.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jest gives you a better expeience, because it merges with React js. It provides an easier experience in testing the frameworks. Also, the DOM testing promises fruitful testing results data. Also, if you are stuck anywhere and just by opening their applicaton or the documentation, the things are so much self explanatory that you may not need any other assistance further.

Jest has Node-based testing approach which is very fast. It has snapshot testing feature which make testing an easy task.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

While working on larger projectes it lacks optimizations and takes more time but other than that it is great testing framework out there.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes testing the application experience more seamless and productive. Also helps us in terms of resources which is benificial for us and makes it the best tool for our case.

**What do you like best about Jest?**

Jest testing framework perfectly suits my needs. The auto-mocking feature is quite handy although there is room, for improvement. it may have some limitations and can be slower for projects it is still effective.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

It offers restricted choices when it comes to test configuration and can be challenging to integrate. There are instances when the auto mocking feature in Jest can result in positives.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jest is perfect tool, for testing JavaScript code. It helps us detect bugs and errors. This ultimately saves us time and resources has proven to be a valuable resource, for our business due to its user friendly design.

**What do you like best about Jest?**

It's makes test development so easy... it's simples and direct, a syntax clear and a good documentation. the best thing about jest is your integration. I already try anothers frameworks, but jest is the best.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

Jest's mocking system, while powerful, might be challenging to grasp for newcomers. Mocking can sometimes require understanding complex concepts, especially when dealing with asynchronous code.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

code coverage is important to catch potential bugs. Jest includes built-in code coverage analysis, showing which parts of the code are exercised by tests. My perfomance increases a lot.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Jest?**

Jest is a fast and efficient testing framework that can run tests in parallel. The Jest community offers many resources including a subreddit and a GitHub repository.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

Jest can be slow for large projects, particularly when running parallel tests. Also, there are fewer testing libraries available for Jest compared to other frameworks.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jest helps me write and maintain JavaScript tests with intuitive syntax and numerous robust features. Jest also allows mocking dependencies to test code in isolation and avoid flaky tests.

  ### 8. Unit Testing with Jest

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joy M. | Full stack developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Jest?**

It's a great tool to check your business logic and make your code robust by covering every possible use case. The community is active and large. It supports React, node, Nest and many other JS frameworks.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

I have been using this tool for more than a year and have not faced any issues.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In one of our projects, the business logic was crucial, and we could not afford any fault in it, so we came across this fantastic tool. Jest ensured us that our logic was correct, and if there was any flaw in it, Jest would capture it with the test cases and suits written by us.

  ### 10. Great Testing Framework

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Axel Somerseth C. | Front-End Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Jest?**

I like Jest so much because it provides an awesome experience when writing tests. I like so much the "expect" function, the assertion methods and the watch mode. I used Jest with the arrange-act-assert pattern, it was great.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

I had issues dealing with mocking when I worked with Jest. I am not sure if it is complicated or if I particularly struggled with this. I also dislike the default configuration for typescript.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jest is helping developers to build tests for their code base, it allows them to test in an automated way if there is some change breaking the code or not getting the expected results.

  ### 11. Best Javascript Testing framework

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Jest?**

Jest easy to set up with all react and react native project and comes as a default testing framework for "create-react-app".

Its light and fast as its does parallellization and caching while running tests.

It's one stop shop that comes with lot built in "expect" functionalities and flavours of "jasmine" makes ease writing test without imports

Mocking is the heart beat of writing unit tests and jest makes it easier by providing module level mocks features and libraries.

It's an interactive mode with lot of shortcuts makes easy to run specific test or test file and its allows to test only latest commit changes with git interaction watch mode

The ide called Vscode has jest plugin which makes testing even more faster.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

Due to its young age.
It has less tooling and library support and its somewhat difficult to use across the boards of different test framework.

Even though,
snapshot testing it provides has lot of benefits, but that generated snapshot file size for each tests should be minimal to avoid complaiances from formatter plugin like eslint.

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jest comes with coverage in handy

The coverage report is well organised and also it can handle coverage criteria restrictions and notify accordingly

Shortcuts like 'press a to run all test' makes developer life easier.

No need to write any configuration for including test files. Just naming file with spec.js makes jest to catch and run it.

Jest is very useful and very important tool to have for testing javascript code. The feature about this tool i like the most is its ability to test multiple classes at once and even a single test can be run through it.

**What do you dislike about Jest?**

Overall jest is very good tool to have however there is a chance of improvement in its running speed. Its slow when it uses auto mocking feature.so that can be made better

**What problems is Jest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using for almost 1.5 years to test my code written in js. The benefit i have realised is it helps to test the code unit wise. Every bit of code can be tested with the help of jest
