The lack I time I spend tuning queries and running maintenance routines is nice. However, the best thing about Netezza is its ability to chew up monster queries that would kill other RDBMS platform and spit out results quickly to my user base. It is an IBM product, which means you get to deal with IBM and we know that can be a love/hate relationship. I worked with Netezza when it was still Netezza so I have just had to get used to the "classic IBM upsell". IBM Neteeza is a very versatile tool and is a good platform for multiple data loads as your source. I have worked with Neteeza where in I had three different sources i.e 1) Oracle, 2) MS SQL Server & 3) PostgreSQL. Simplicity of operations and administration; HW based accelerator for compression/decompression that leads to consistent fast performance for all SQL operations. something even bigdata server can't achieve; integrate well with major ETL tools; Superb update performance - which is critical to DW. raw data load is actually quite good too for Netezza or older DB technology.
