"Flexible Integration Platform for Modern Enterprises"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM App Connect?

I've been using IBM App Connect Enterprise for well over a decade and it has been my primary integration platform across many customer projects. One of its biggest strengths is its flexibility. Whether the integration pattern is REST, SOAP, JMS, MQ, Kafka, file transfer, database integration, or event-driven messaging, the platform provides mature capabilities in a single product.

What really stands out is that the same integration can be deployed almost anywhere: traditional virtual machines, containers, Red Hat OpenShift, or IBM Cloud Pak for Integration.

The Toolkit is extremely powerful for experienced integration developers. The graphical flow editor, ESQL, Java support, reusable subflows, policies, and extensive connector library allow you to solve both simple and highly complex integration scenarios. Recent versions have also introduced many cloud-native improvements, better observability, discovery connectors, and AI-assisted mapping capabilities.

I also appreciate how well App Connect integrates with IBM API Connect, IBM MQ, and the broader Cloud Pak ecosystem, making it a strong platform for enterprise integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM App Connect?

The biggest challenge remains the learning curve. Although low-code capabilities have improved significantly, becoming proficient with the Toolkit still requires understanding integration patterns, messaging concepts, security, and deployment models.

Documentation has improved over the years, but beginners can still struggle to find practical, end-to-end examples for more advanced scenarios such as Kubernetes deployments, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and hybrid cloud architectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"10+ years ACE experience and still enjoying the product"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM App Connect?

I really enjoy the all-in one solution. It's easy to connect a bunch of applications since everything is right there at your fingertips. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM App Connect?

The downsides of using ACE is that there is a bit of a learning curve. It's not the easiest to start with. Also the toolkit itself is a bit outdated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Over the years ACE keeps getting better and more exciting to use!"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM App Connect?

I like that IBM App Connect makes it easier to connect different systems and application, whether they’re in the cloud or on-prem. Even though there is a learning curve, once you get a hang of the tool and gain some experience it is incredibly powerful and easy to use. Over the years the product is getting increasingly more stable and also a bunch of features are being added continuously. The discovery connectors are very nice addition that solve a lot of difficult tasks with ease. Very exciting to see what the future holds for this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM App Connect?

Still a learning Curve, which IBM tries to solve by adding the app connect designer tool for non technical users. I think the toolkit still can be improved a lot to help with the learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined our integrations with zero hassle - IBM App Connect is a true enabler"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM App Connect?

IBM App Connect excels at integrating applications across hybrid environments with minimal coding. The user-friendly interface, wide range of prebuilt connectors, and real-time data syncing capabilities make it extremely powerful for streamlining workflows and automating business processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM App Connect?

Although highly functional, the initial learning curve for new users can be slightly steep. The documentation could be more beginner-friendly, and in some complex integrations, troubleshooting logs lack enough granularity for root cause analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Decade-Long Perspective: The evolution and modernization of IBM ACE"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM App Connect?

The ability to deploy integrations anywhere—on-premise, in a private cloud, or in a public cloud

Moving away from the heavy, centralized architecture of "brokers and execution groups," IBM completely re-architected the platform around lightweight, independent "integration servers." This fundamental shift is arguably the most significant upgrade for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM App Connect?

Documentation is not always as easy to understand is it could be Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Review of IBM ACE"
4/5
What do you like best about IBM App Connect?

Best application for enterprises connection and sharing the data across various on-premises and cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM App Connect?

One of the big headaches is testing the application when we are developing it. Each time we have to create a package or bar file and need to deploy it into the server, then only we can test the new service or changes in the service. Even single line changes also needed this. Not good in testing part for developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Need a high level of workflow configuration knowledge to manage your flows. They should also provide guided documentation for every configuration, like GCP does on the right-hand side, which would be helpful for beginners, provide a proper labs to get intract with new user.
