Which I like most is snapshot and restoring it within a sec. **What do you dislike about HPE 3PAR?** Nothing toh dislike in 3PAR but some features are difficult to take like SAN2SAN replication. **Recommendations to others considering HPE 3PAR:** If you are looking for Hassel free environment then you have to implement HPE 3PAR storage in your organization. **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** During implementation phase of SAP systems and some of the SAP team members crash the OS and at that time it's very time consuming to restore or recover it. Then we used snapshot restoratio. Feature and it's very usefull. ### 3. On the plus side, it works wonders with virtualisation software like VMWare vSphere. **What do you dislike about HPE 3PAR?** It can be quite a hefty business investment and you'll certainly need an annual maintenance contract (AMC) from a trusted service provider (which can also be costly). **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** It provides one centralised dashboard to manage all the storage. The architecture is in such a way it gives us data availability even with multiple disk failures(more than 2) which are part of one pool(CPG). We can achieve this availability without compromising on the performance and savings. **What do you dislike about HPE 3PAR?** In my Experience working on 3 par what I hated the most is the frequent disk failures. I mean at one point HP team had to replace 70% of the disks within a month after we started using the array with 4 nodes **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the major area we wanted the storage array to solve was space saving which we could achieve with compression, de dup. We also wanted our IOPS hungry servers to also get the best possible performance required which we were able to do with AO ### 8. HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8200 **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018 **What do you like best about HPE 3PAR?** We are using HPE 3PAR storeServ 8200 for both our file level and block level storage. I really love the amazing compaction ration provided by HPE 3PAR. Some of our disks have compaction ratio above 25:1, which is super amazing. You can definitely look for around 75% reduction of storage footprints. It has a great user friend web console "SSMC"(StoreServ Management Console). This is an additional bonus and can be used by even non-storage people like DBA and Network to take a look at storage performance. **What do you dislike about HPE 3PAR?** I was trying to look for what kind of threshold monitoring i can do using the web console for hour HPE 3PAR. Though it covers most of the essential threshold alert settings, i was looking for things like CPU overheating, block corruptions. I was told these can not be monitored directly through SSMC but are thrown as minor and major alerts automatically by the system processor. **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were setting up a whole new ERP for an academic client. We required a storage that provides us both file based storage for less demanding storage needs and block storage for more demanding needs like database and virtual desktops. We have been able to achieve that along with reducing our overall estimated storage footprint by making use of dedup feature of HPE 3PAR. ### 9. Easy to to, you can never go wrong with this one . **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently managing all our frames from a single VM running the 3PAR Management Console, hence consolidating all endpoints into one single management application/console. Software updates are not happening very often but when they do new features are being added that are improving the overall experience and functionality. ### 10. It allows you to do all management and configuration tasks from a single interface and can interface with multiple storage systems (arrays). **What do you dislike about HPE 3PAR?** 3PAR Management Console now been superseded by 3PAR StoreServ Management Console, which is a web-based administration tool. It brings a slew of new functionality and API's as well has having the look and feel of HP OneView. Definitely a lot easier to work with too, so use it if you haven't installed the legacy console yet. **Recommendations to others considering HPE 3PAR:** consider installing 3PAR StoreServ Management Console instead. This is the recommended approach by HPE. **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** This legacy tool or the new web-based tool is pretty much compulsory for managing a 3PAR array. Whilst you can configure the array through the CLI itself, it's not recommended. ### 11. Good insights as to what my storage system is doing **What do you dislike about HPE 3PAR?** A bit of an initial learning curve, and if you don't use it regularly it's easy to get lost. While the reports are very good, they are not easy to set up. It takes a lot of trial and error to get the data we want out of them **Recommendations to others considering HPE 3PAR:** Its certainly not a selling point for the 3PAR hardware, but its easy enough to use once you learn it **What problems is HPE 3PAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** Managing and maintaining our 3PAR storage system.
