"Clear Patch Management and Endpoint Visibility That Builds Compliance Confidence"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Patch management; OS and third party. Provides clear landscape of outdated per device and provides confidence of Cyber Essentials accreditation.

Endpoints overview. Provides clear scope of all connected devices, the device information is particularly helpful for troubleshooting.

Infinity management module for bespoke software storage and deployment. This helps with ISO27001 to evidence control of software libraries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The third-party app patch management module doesn’t let you push updates per device or per patch as easily as the OS patch management module does. Some users have also reported that Heimdal sometimes forces restarts after patches are applied, even though we don’t have that option enabled in our baseline settings.

In addition, some of the descriptions within the endpoint settings platform aren’t very clear, which can make it harder to understand what certain options actually do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with our patch management and endpoint visibility features. We're glad they support you with becoming Cyber Essentials compliant.

We understand your concerns about the third-party app patch management and endpoint settings platform, and we will work to enhance the user experience and provide clearer descriptions for better understanding.

"Automated patching makes life easier, but remote desktop needs work"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

What I like best about Heimdal is the automated patching. It saves us a lot of time since we don’t have to manually patch all our software anymore. Even for apps not natively supported, we can push scripts to check for updates, which is a huge benefit for our operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The main thing that catches us out is the reboot notifications for laptops. The notifications could be more prominent because users sometimes miss them or they get hidden behind other windows, leading to surprise reboots. Also, the remote desktop tool isn’t very intuitive, and the black screen feature can be disabled by the remote user, which isn’t ideal for troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Heimdal's Patch and Asset Management and Privilege Elevation and Delegation Management modules.

We're happy to know our automated patch management solution saves your team time.

We're constantly working to make our products better and easier to use. Your feedback on reboot notifications and the remote desktop will help us do just that.

"Reliable, Evolving Security Platform with Excellent Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really appreciate Heimdal's ease of deployment, the integrated pane of glass for managing everything, and the fairly responsive support team. The platform consistently adds features that are genuinely useful for our needs, especially as we have a mixed estate of Windows, Macs, and Linux. The long-term investment has paid dividends, and I value the ongoing improvements, particularly the commitment to cross-platform feature parity and compliance reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The main drawback for us has been the lack of feature parity across Windows, Mac, and Linux—especially application control for Mac OS, which is currently missing but is on the roadmap. Pulling relevant stats for board packs can be a bit intense, requiring some digging, but dashboard customization is coming soon. These are all being addressed, so my concerns are more about timing than any fundamental issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Mahdi H. thanks for sharing your experience. We're happy to read how the responsiveness and effectiveness of Heimdal's tech support team keeps coming up into reviews. :)

As you said, app control for MacOS is on the roadmap and we're constantly working to bring in line other missing capabilities too.

Also, we'll soon reveal the Heimdal 5.4.0 Release Candidate Dashboard which will bring a strong set of practical improvements across the platform:

• More flexible Windows Updates controls with per-category delays.

• Stronger compliance settings for session locking and automated log retrieval.

• Direct inbox deletion actions for Microsoft 365 Email Security.

• Enhanced Priority Update Server performance for faster patching.

• Expanded PSA integrations with M365 alert support and LAD ticketing.

Might find that useful too, I hope.

"Amazing Support and Effortless OS & App Patching with Easy Deployment"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Support has been amazing. They’re always very friendly and respond promptly whenever we reach out. The OS and third-party app patching makes our jobs much easier, and deployment is incredibly easy as well.

Integrates well with software we use internally to allow for more secure management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The agent can be slow at times on computers, especially when I’m trying to gain admin rights. Overall, there’s very little I dislike about this software, and my experience with it has been largely positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Reducing the need to use admin accounts - which are a huge risk factor in case of compromised credentials - is one of our goals.

We're glad to hear Heimdal's privileged access management works for you and that using our patch management tool supports you with covering 3rd-party patching faster and easier.

We'll keep working to improve our solutions.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

"Solid Security Platform with Excellent Support but Needs Better Reporting"
4/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really appreciate Heimdal's fast and responsive support team, which is much quicker than most other vendors I've dealt with. The privilege elevation feature is a standout, making me feel much safer about admin access risks. Third-party patching is another big plus, and the pricing for these features is fair compared to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The main drawback is the lack of high-level, easy-to-use reporting. It's difficult to quickly get clear dashboards or summaries to show progress, patching rates, or server reboots, which makes it hard to demonstrate value in board meetings. Because of this, I had to bring in another tool just for vulnerability scanning and reporting, which I'd rather not do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Use Unified Platform with Great Microsoft Integration and Fast Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Unified platform overall. I find it easy to use, and it integrates well with Microsoft. It’s also not too resource-intensive internally or across CPUs, which I appreciate. The pricing is almost too good to be true and definitely worth reviewing. The support team always answers my queries quickly. The AI features are there, but I haven’t had a chance to try them yet, although the TAC does provide insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

I feel like the AI wingman features haven’t come up much yet with the customers I work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for sharing your opinion on our unified platform and fast support.

We're continuing to work on fine tuning the AI features, so they are more and more effective and bring more value to you and your customers.

"Heimdal’s All-in-One Email & Endpoint Security with an Easy Dashboard"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I like that Heimdal integrates the most commonly used apps, which helps organizations stay secure. The dashboard is easy to learn and understand, and support is always available when needed. The program performs its main function of isolating bad emails and links 100% of the time. We chose Heimdal over other products because it provides both email and endpoint security in one bundle. The pricing is very attractive because of the bundle, and I only have to deal with one vendor when issues arise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Nothing at the moment. As an organization, we’ve used most of its features, and we’re happy with it overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Heimdal's unified cybersecurity dashboard. We're happy that our third-party patch management and email security solutions work well for you.

Also, our support team will be glad to know their work is appreciated. :)

"Comprehensive and Easy-to-Use Security Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really like how easy Heimdal is to use and navigate. The layout is straightforward, and having so many tools included in a single platform is probably the biggest advantage for me. Automatic software updates, unattended remote support, and even OS updates are handled well. It makes managing our large estate much easier and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

One downside is that it's difficult to update applications that don't add an entry to the Windows App List, like some portable apps.

For example, the application NASM doesn't add a registry entry during installation, so Heimdal can't detect it.

It would be great if there was more support for these kinds of portable applications, or custom detection methods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Heimdal. We're glad that you're happy about how our patching solution works.

I'll talk to our people at Support about how we could improve updating applications that don't add an entry to the Windows App List.

"Reliable, Lightweight Security and Patch Management Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really like how lightweight Heimdal is on the client side—it has minimal impact on device performance but still gives us all the functionality we need from an IT management perspective. The automated patching, especially for Windows zero-days and third party apps, has been a real game changer. I appreciate that once it's set up, it just works in the background and lets us focus on other priorities. The reporting and visibility into vulnerabilities, plus the ability to scale with more modules, is also a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The setup process was a bit complicated, and navigating some areas of the platform can be unintuitive at first. It took me a while to get familiar with where everything is and how to make certain changes. Once you get used to it, it's fine, but the initial learning curve could definitely be improved to make it more user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Happy to hear Heimdal's patch management solution helps keep your devices safe and compliant.

We constantly aim to improve user experience, so your feedback and suggestions on that matter is very valuable to us. Thanks for letting us know.

"Unified Security Platform Delivering Visibility and Efficiency"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

UI / UX

The interface is clean and generally easy to navigate. While most core features are accessible, some advanced options (like role management and account settings) could be more intuitive and consistently visible across user roles.

Integrations

Heimdal integrates well with standard security workflows. However, deeper integrations and clearer documentation around role-based access and feature availability would further improve usability.

Performance

Overall performance is stable with minimal latency. Security modules operate efficiently without noticeable impact on endpoint performance in day-to-day operations.

Pricing / ROI

The platform offers good value considering the range of security features provided. It aligns well with organizations looking for consolidated security capabilities under a single solution.

Support / Onboarding

Support has been responsive and helpful in resolving queries. Onboarding is straightforward, though additional guidance on advanced configurations and role-based features would enhance the experience.

AI / Intelligence

The platform provides useful threat detection and actionable insights. While effective, more transparency into detection logic and enhanced analytics visibility would add further value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Some advanced features, particularly around role management and account configurations, are not always clearly visible or intuitive based on user roles. Documentation could be more detailed for these areas. Additionally, greater transparency in certain security insights and detection logic would help improve analysis and troubleshooting. Minor improvements in UI consistency across modules would also enhance the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
