## Halo Security Reviews
  ### 1. Comprehensive Security Solution with Minor Tweaks Needed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shalin K. | Security Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

I really like how easy Halo Security is to use and the clarity of its reporting. The actionable insights it provides, rather than just listing vulnerabilities, help our team prioritize and remediate issues effectively. The platform's manual and automated scanning for PCI DSS saves us significant time and ensures continuous compliance without any manual effort. I appreciate the centralized dashboard that offers visibility into our security posture, making it easier to track progress and demonstrate compliance to stakeholders. The setup was easy and well-guided, allowing us to start scanning within hours, and it integrates well with our existing tools. Halo Security's advanced security features and better threat detection were key reasons for switching, and the detailed insights it provides are just great.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

While Halo Security works well overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. At times, the scan results can generate false positives, which require additional time for validation. The reporting, while clear, could offer more customization options to better fit the stakeholder needs.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Halo Security to identify vulnerabilities and ensure PCI DSS compliance. It improves visibility, streamlines scanning, and reduces remediation time. I appreciate its ease of use, actionable insights, and the centralized dashboard for tracking security posture.

  ### 2. Powerful Integrations and Deep Scans, But UI/UX Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleksandr M. | Head of Infrastructure and Information Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

This product offers some of the best functionality I have encountered, especially with its integrations with GCP, AWS, and a variety of other DNS and domain services. These integrations significantly enhance its ability to provide up-to-date information about domains, IP addresses, and more. In my experience, the scanning results are the most thorough among the ASMs I have tested.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

The UI/UX could be better, as the learning curve is quite steep. I often spend a lot of time just trying to locate the features I need. Occasionally, the interface changes significantly—usually for the better—but this means I have to relearn the logic behind where things are. Over the course of more than six months of use, I've seen the interface improved a few times, yet it still takes some effort to fully grasp how everything works.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Find vulnerabilities and resources that available externally and expouse risk for organisation.

  ### 3. Peace of Mind with Reliable Security Scanning

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve S. | Developer/Data Architect/President, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

The peace of mind it provides is a major plus. I can trust that it’s consistently scanning for and evaluating potential security issues, so nothing slips through the cracks or leaves me vulnerable.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

I don’t think this is specific to Halo Security; it seems more like the nature of the industry. There are a lot of special scenarios and edge cases that can sometimes lead to false positives. The issues that get flagged feel very rigid, and the results still need someone who knows how to interpret them properly.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Halo Security gives us a second set of eyes on our website by helping identify potential security vulnerabilities. We don’t usually put all our faith in a single tool, so having Halo Security as an additional layer of support has been a real benefit.

  ### 4. Best-in-Class Security Support with Detailed Scans and Easy Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edgar S. | IT Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

There one on one support with their security experts is the best thing. Very helpful and knowledgeable. They walk you through every step, they are proactive and make its easy to use and understand the UI. I think what they offer is well worth the price, couldn't find anything else out there for the same value. Scans are detailed, integrations are easy. They already had most of our targets scanned by the time we got on the discovery call. For all the data that is collected and presented, the software performance is great and response when you use it.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

Does its job and points out my vulnerabilities.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding and security flaws in our public endpoints, and giving tips to remediate. Its making PCI Compliance easy by meeting our ASV requirement.

  ### 5. Streamlined PCI Compliance Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish D. | Staff Security Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

I like that Halo Security runs automated and continuous scans. The asset discovery is really helpful, especially in identifying external public-facing assets based on IP ranges. Its compliance reporting for PCI DSS is thorough, offering scanned assets in a formal PCI DSS standard, and it provides auditable evidence artifacts for auditors. The lightweight integration model makes things easier for us. The initial setup was very straightforward without complex onboarding steps, and we could configure our public IP ranges and scan schedules as per PCI DSS requirements. Overall, I find it well-optimized for PCI compliance scanning and reporting, and I would rate it highly for its ease of use and robust features.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

Nothing major apart from some additional scanning features and vulnerability databases evolving threat vectors.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Halo Security simplifies managing PCI compliance for a large infrastructure by continuously assessing security posture, triaging vulnerabilities, and providing compliance reporting. Its automated scans and asset discovery improve security oversight and offer auditable evidence for PCI DSS standards.

  ### 6. Vulnerability Detection with Ease of Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ander I. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

I like the reports generated by Halo Security and the alerts it sends to email when it finds a problem. The ease of use of its web interface is another thing I appreciate a lot. I don't have to constantly monitor security, as I can rely on receiving email notifications immediately if there is a problem with any dependency we use. Moreover, it not only alerts me to the problem but also provides recommendations on how to solve it. The initial setup was very simple, as you only need to register the product or website in the tool, and it starts reporting vulnerabilities automatically.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

Sometimes the interface is a bit confusing, as we have several web products with different URLs, and navigating between the products and vulnerabilities can be somewhat unintuitive.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Halo Security to find known vulnerabilities in dependencies, as well as vulnerabilities in client-side code. It generates reports, sends email alerts, and is easy to use. I feel secure knowing that I will be notified immediately and it facilitates the solution with clear recommendations.

  ### 7. Strong Continuous Monitoring

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

What stands out most is the continuous monitoring especially the Dark Web leaks. Having automated, ongoing checks gives us confidence that new issues or changes won’t slip through the cracks, and it reduces the manual effort needed to stay on top of our environment.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

I’d like to see more granular configuration options for integrations. Right now, the settings feel a bit too high‑level, which limits how precisely we can tailor the connections to our environment. Having finer control, such as more detailed sync rules, filtering options, or customizable scopes, would make the integrations more flexible and better aligned with our specific workflows.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Halo Security is helping us solve the challenge of understanding our full external attack surface. Before using it, it was difficult to keep track of all our internet‑facing assets and identify where new risks might appear. The platform gives us continuous visibility into domains, cloud‑exposed resources, and potential vulnerabilities, which reduces blind spots and helps us stay proactive instead of reactive.

  ### 8. Exceptional Scanning with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

I really appreciate Halo Security's solid scans that consistently catch things that matter. The standout feature for me is the detailed and easy-to-understand reports that provide clear actionable guidance. This has helped us stay more proactive about improving our security instead of just reacting to issues. Their support team is also great—responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They provide clear and concise information regarding vulnerabilities and give suggestions on how to remediate them within the context of our organization. I also heavily endorse Halo Security because of its great service at a great cost.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

The only complaint that I have is really not one that I can say is Halo Security's responsibility. As much as it is the responsibility of myself as a customer to make sure that all of my assets that Halo is scanning is current and accurate. Oftentimes, we have new servers pop up on our network as time goes on, and we might forget to add that to the scanning lists. So, I don't know how to solve that issue other than better internal housekeeping as a Halo customer. But if Halo had a discovery or perhaps a timed questionnaire asking, 'do you have more sites up' or had the ability to discover those sites, that would be potentially interesting.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find that Halo Security's scans consistently catch important issues, and the detailed, easy-to-understand reports with clear, actionable guidance keep us proactive about security. The support team is responsive and knowledgeable, making the tool reliable for maintaining a secure environment.

  ### 9. Intuitive, Actionable Attack Surface Monitoring with Clear Stakeholder-Friendly Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler S. | Information Technology System Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

Halo Security provides a clear, actionable view of our external attack surface, making it easy to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities. The platform is intuitive to use, and implementation was straightforward with minimal overhead. I especially appreciate how it continuously monitors for new risks and presents findings in a way that’s easy for both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

While the platform is powerful, some of the reporting and customization options could be more flexible. At times, the volume of findings can feel overwhelming without more advanced filtering or prioritization controls. Additionally, deeper integrations with other security tools would help streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Halo Security helps us proactively identify and manage external-facing vulnerabilities that could otherwise go unnoticed. It reduces the risk of breaches by continuously scanning our attack surface and highlighting critical issues before they can be exploited. This has improved our overall security posture, saved time on manual assessments, and given our team greater confidence in our ability to manage external threats.

I like Halo Security's simple user interface. It makes it easy for me to use without any hassle. The integrations with cloud resources are good, providing seamless connectivity with the systems we use. The discovery section is very helpful in identifying any public or newly spun-up resources in our cloud, which assists in shadow IT discovery. I find it particularly useful for detecting accidental exposure of data, like when someone opens a port or shares an S3 file. The alerts that can be integrated with Slack are handy in keeping me informed of such incidents. The setup process was really simple, and the person who helped was very knowledgeable and friendly too.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

I don't have anything like that as of now. Because it is relatively easy to use and, the user interface is simple. Maybe they can have some, like, advanced features like the new age companies use, like scoring system, filtering, and all those advanced stuff.

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

I really find the ease of use of the GUI to be a standout feature of Halo Security. It's intuitive and works great even for a new user like me. I'm also really happy with the overall usage and visibility it provides into the network. Meeting monthly with one of the CSMs has been really helpful too, as without Halo Security, this kind of visibility wouldn't have been possible.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

Just maybe, the way the scanner rescans things that have already been classified as acceptable risk. Sometimes you just have to go in there and manually remove it. This is a small glitch, and sometimes you have to deal with it manually, which is not a big issue.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Halo Security solves issues we didn't know about by scanning our network and offers ease of use with its GUI. It provides visibility into the network that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.

PCI compliance

  ### 18. Halo Security: Fast, User-Friendly Attack Surface Management with Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean D. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

What I like best about Halo Security is its user-friendly platform that delivers lightning-fast visibility into our entire external attack surface—it's like having an attacker's playbook in reverse, spotting risks across clouds and third-parties in seconds without the hassle of manual scans. The straightforward remediation guidance and real-time alerts have saved our team countless hours, making it easier to prioritize and fix issues before they escalate. Plus, the integration with tools like Jira and Slack keeps everything seamless for our workflow. Overall, it's empowered us to stay proactive in a chaotic threat landscape.

**What do you dislike about Halo Security?**

While Halo Security is a powerhouse for attack surface management, one area that could use some polishing is the depth of customization options for alert thresholds and reporting templates. Right now, the default setups work great for most teams, but for more nuanced environments—like ours with hybrid cloud setups—fine-tuning sensitivity levels or exporting reports in non-standard formats requires a few extra workarounds via API tweaks. It's not a deal-breaker (and their support jumps on it quickly when we flag it), but expanding those built-in options would make it even more of a set-it-and-forget-it tool. That said, it's still leagues ahead of legacy scanners in speed and accuracy.

**What problems is Halo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Halo's turned our reactive fire-drill into a predictable, scalable defense, saving ~15 hours/week in manual hunting and letting us sleep better knowing we're ahead of attackers. It's not just solving problems—it's making us faster and more resilient in a world where threats evolve daily

**What do you like best about Halo Security?**

I find Halo Security incredibly valuable because it offers a comprehensive package crucial for attack surface scanning, which is a priority for us. It's very mature in handling these tasks. I appreciate how it integrates seamlessly into our existing security ecosystem, making it highly adaptable. The team behind Halo Security has notable technical expertise, assisting with setup and mitigating issues related to unfamiliar terminology. Their guidance has been instrumental in a smooth deployment. The service excels at identifying problems we were unaware of, such as vulnerabilities in header security policies and leaked credentials like API keys in our frontend code. This kind of insight is invaluable, enhancing our ability to maintain robust security. Furthermore, Halo Security proved more feature-complete compared to other tools we evaluated like Secyour, Probely and Detectify, especially in attack surface scanning, which is the most useful feature for us. The pricing is also fair, making it a good deal for startups, which is why I would highly recommend it to businesses in a similar situation.
