"Simple UI, but integrations and transit reimbursements need smoother automation"
3/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto’s UI feels simpler than other employee benefits software I’ve used (e.g., UKG and ADP). It’s generally easy to navigate and find specific benefits, like time off and transit benefits, without much digging. N/A, don't pay for Gusto personally nor know how much we're charged for this. What do you dislike about Gusto?

I wish the integrations worked a bit more seamlessly. The benefits card combines both healthcare and transit benefits, which sounds great in theory, but it makes it difficult to set up autopay or get automatic reimbursement for my monthly transit card. Right now, I have to manually submit my transit receipt for pre tax reimbursement every month. N/A, don't pay for Gusto personally nor know how much we're charged for this. "Intuitive, Secure Experience with Easy Alerts and Paycheck Access"
4/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

The interface is intuitive and modern without being overly bloated or animated. I am able to use the website and the app with ease. It is easy to set up alerts whether by email or app notification. I also appreciate getting confirmation of my activity and the security gives me peace of mind. The search functionality is easy to use and the ability to download my paychecks and review my pay within the interface is superior to other platforms I have used through prior jobs. What do you dislike about Gusto?

The only downside, which isn't a showstopper at all, is that there are features that my employer has not enabled so they appear on the interface taking up room. They aren't too obnoxious but I wish I could disable or collapse those widgets since they are controlled by my employer and thus nothing I can do with those features. What do you like best about Gusto?

I like how easy it is to interact with the website. I like that I can see the date I am getting paid when I login, and that past pay stubs are easy to get. I find this most useful when I am needing documentation of pay stubs such as when applying for a rental, I can easy find all that on my profile. I also really like how easy it is to switch/ split my paycheck. At other jobs, it was always a pain to switch my bank account that is connected to direct deposit, but gusto makes it very simple. I also like I can get my W2 online and not have to wait for it in the mail, as i like to do my taxes as soon as I can to get it done. With this feature I can do it very easily. What do you dislike about Gusto?

I would day gusto satisfies all my needs as an employee getting paid. I guess there are features that I havent tried as it seems it would take a while to input information for budgeting. Generally I am happy with this platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One HR Made Easy: Intuitive, Reliable, and Great Value"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto is really helpful because it keeps all of my information in one place—benefits, PTO, clocking in and out, and more. The benefits being integrated into Gusto is my favorite part of the program. It’s also very intuitive and easy to use. On top of that, the mobile app is convenient to have on my phone. The website online and the app both perform really well. The support options are also very helpful if I ever need help navigating the program or have questions. The AI support is very useful. Pricing for the program is also very reasonable for the small business I work for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Using Gusto day to day, I’ve found that the integrated GPS feature for clocking in and out can occasionally have performance issues. When that happens, I notify support, and since the clock-in/clock-out feature includes a space to add a note, I clarify there that I’m in the correct location. I’m not sure whether the GPS problems I run into are caused by Gusto or by my phone’s GPS itself, so it may not be Gusto-related at all. I only experience this issue on my phone; it’s never been a problem on a desktop or laptop connected to WiFi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly, Reliable, and Easy to Integrate with Responsive Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

It's very user friendly, I know where to find all my information. I like that it easily integrates with other apps / sites that I use. I've never had an issue performance wise using the site. I can always easily log in, as can my spouse who helps with benefits. I've used the support team and they've gotten back to me in a timely matter. I can't speak to pricing/ROI or AI as I have not used those functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

It'd be nice to have the ability to have multiple profiles. For example, my husband logs in to my account to see our insurance information/etc. He can also see information about my team - ie vacation days, performance reviews etc. I'd like him to be able to have his own account. "Effortlessly Simple Payroll Solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I use Gusto to get paid for my internship, and I appreciate how it makes it easy to clock in my work hours and get paid. I like how the app is simple and easy to use and doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary features I probably wouldn’t use. This aspect helps me because it causes less of a headache when navigating the interface. I only need a couple of simple features like viewing my paycheck and other docs and clocking in, so the simpler, the better. The initial setup was very easy, with no issues. Everything works as expected, and I have no complaints. The app itself works quick and as expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I don't like that I have to get a Gusto credit card to get paid early Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Mobile-Friendly HR and Payroll Solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto is easily the best payroll software I've utilized. The streamlined and intuitive interface is easy to use, bright, and inviting. I really appreciate the mobile integration, allowing me to access all my HR and payroll info, benefits, and more quickly from an app on my phone without needing to log into a dedicated website. The ability to integrate with the kiosk app, time clock, break room, desktop apps, and phone apps is really helpful. The directory features make it easy to find who I need for a given task and contact them, which is a huge plus. The software somehow makes HR and payroll fun with features like answering fun about me questions and seeing coworkers' responses, which adds a personalized touch. I like having all my information in one place, and I don't have to dig through separate portals for paycheck stubs, paychecks, and onboarding paperwork. The countdown feature for break times is a nice touch that makes life easier, and the app's design is smooth and effortless to use. It was easy to get onboarded with the software and to set it up, taking just a few minutes of time once my account was created. Overall, it's a very inventive software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I would appreciate kind of an internal messaging system. Even though it does have an option for contact information, it would be helpful to message someone in HR directly within the app to draw their immediate attention to what's needed. An internal messaging system would really be a value add. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient, User-Friendly Platform with Room for Notification Customization"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I use Gusto to accurately track my work hours and compensation, and it helps me ensure my time is recorded correctly for each pay period. I appreciate the transparency it offers, allowing me to easily review my hours and earnings, which gives me confidence that my payroll is accurate. The automation of much of the payroll process saves me time and reduces manual errors, making tracking my hours and payments more efficient. The initial setup of Gusto was very straightforward and intuitive; I was guided step-by-step in a clear, organized way, making it easy to complete the setup confidently without assistance. I love how user-friendly the interface is, with a clean layout and simple navigation, which makes it easy to find what I need without spending time searching through menus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I’d like to see more customizable notifications and reminders for timesheet submissions and payroll updates that would help ensure important tasks aren't overlooked. More customizable notifications and reminders will make it easier to stay on top of important payroll tasks, allowing users to choose when and how often they receive reminders before timesheets are due could help prevent missed submissions. It would also be helpful to customize notifications for events such as payroll processing, direct deposit confirmations, paycheck availability, tax document release, or requests to review and improve hours. Having the option to receive these alerts by email, text message, personal notification, and to set individual preferences for each type would create a more personalized experience and reduce the likelihood of confusion. "Gusto Makes Small Business Payroll Painless and Fast"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto makes running payroll for a small business genuinely painless. The interface is clean and intuitive — running payroll takes just a few minutes each cycle, and the dashboard makes it easy to see what's due and when without digging through menus. Setup for California state and federal tax registrations was straightforward, and Gusto handles the tax filings automatically, which takes a huge mental load off. I also appreciate how it keeps everything organized in one place — payroll, tax forms, and employee records — so I'm not juggling multiple systems. For a solo operator or small team, the time saved each pay cycle is the biggest win. I'd recommend it to any small business owner who wants payroll off their plate without hiring a bookkeeper just to manage it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Nothing major. If I had employees perhaps pricing would be a different consideration Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Payroll with Essential Features"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto has become an essential tool for running my payroll and small business operations. What stands out most is the outstanding UI/UX — the interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate even when I’m short on time. Everything is well-organized, and I can quickly find what I need without digging through menus.

I especially love the seamless integrations, particularly with Clair for on-demand cash advances. This has been incredibly helpful for managing cash flow during tighter months. I’ve also used the tax filing tools, and they integrate smoothly with everything else on the platform.

Performance is reliable and fast — payroll runs smoothly every time, reports load quickly, and I’ve never experienced downtime or glitches. I always feel confident that my payroll status is up-to-date and accurate.

On pricing and ROI, Gusto delivers strong value. While it’s an investment, the time it saves me on payroll, taxes, and compliance more than pays for itself. As someone balancing a full-time job, full-time studies, and running FM Notary LLC, the efficiency gains are worth every penny.

The support and onboarding were excellent. The initial setup was straightforward and user-friendly, and I was able to get everything configured quickly. Whenever I’ve had questions, the support team has been responsive and helpful.

I’ve also started exploring Gusto’s AI and intelligent features, which are impressive. They help surface insights and automate tasks that used to take more manual effort, making the platform even smarter over time.

Overall, Gusto gives me peace of mind and control over my finances and payroll. It’s one of the best business decisions I’ve made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Honestly, I have not found anything significant that I dislike about Gusto. It has been a reliable, user-friendly platform that meets all my payroll, tax, and cash flow needs very well.

The only very minor thing I can mention is that I occasionally wish the mobile app had a few more advanced reporting features (I usually end up using the desktop version for deeper reports), but this is a small preference rather than a real issue. Everything else — from the intuitive UI/UX and seamless Clair integration to performance, support, and overall value — has been excellent.

I’m genuinely very satisfied with Gusto and would recommend it without hesitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
