The best thing about Gulp js is its application for every developer. Every developer must use it to automate repetitive tasks.

I found the entry barrier low and with little JS knowledge, I was able to use it.

If you can write even the most basic javascript, you can create a gulp task, it’s really easy to pick up, has a wealth of great plugins availible and can automate all your tasks with ease. Plus because it’s using streaming its really fast. It’s still my prefered build tool, there are loads of devs that have dictched their task managers and are using npm as a build tool instead but most of the time using gulp is faster and more flexible to set up, so is still the one for me. The worst thing about gulp was dealing with the upgrade from gulp 3 to gulp 4. Still many of the blogs and much of the documentation on third-party sites is still referencing the older version which can be a real pain and seems to confuse many newer devs.
