It allows us to compile our SASS, run fine-tuned lint scripts, and all of the tools necessary for local development. **What do you dislike about Gulpjs?** With all of the control a CLI solution offers, it stands to reason that it's less intuitive than a standalone app; there's great power and responsibility that comes with Gulp. **What problems is Gulpjs solving and how is that benefiting you?** Without Gulp, we would need to rely on proprietary solutions (e.g., compiling our SASS), which tend to be resource hogs. We can run all of the necessary tools via a Gulp process these days. ### 2. Plus because it’s using streaming its really fast. It’s still my prefered build tool, there are loads of devs that have dictched their task managers and are using npm as a build tool instead but most of the time using gulp is faster and more flexible to set up, so is still the one for me. **What do you dislike about Gulpjs?** The worst thing about gulp was dealing with the upgrade from gulp 3 to gulp 4. Still many of the blogs and much of the documentation on third-party sites is still referencing the older version which can be a real pain and seems to confuse many newer devs. Beyond that the thing I most dislike is when you’re developing a new gulp task and it fails, normally the error messages are less than helpful! **Recommendations to others considering Gulpjs:** I’m not sure why anyone would be looking for advise like this when considering GulpJS, there is so much information and great documentation on task managers out there and on gulpjs.com Check out gulpjs.com’s offical docs Don’t get confused and follow the older gulp 3 tutorials in dated blogs **What problems is Gulpjs solving and how is that benefiting you?** Less time doing boring repetative tasks, more time developing! Bring able to write modern js with out having to deal with the pains of transpiling ### 7. I'm actually using the version 3.9.2 of gulp which I can manage my processes quite smoothly and quickly . **What do you dislike about Gulpjs?** Nothing to dislike, just that I've had issues with older versions of gulp-inject which are fixed in the newer version. **Recommendations to others considering Gulpjs:** Keep using gulpjs for your processes and keep your productivity growing. **What problems is Gulpjs solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it for building ".sass", ".less" files. For converting(transpiling) CoffeeScript files to JavaScript files. Injecting modules on both front-end, back-end. I use it for running automated tests(or choosing not to with customized commands), also for live watching many processes as I am coding, etc. With simple commands I can start my project applications and my daily processes quite fast and be ready to work. ### 10. I use gulp mainly for compiling and minifying CSS and JavaScript, image optimization and preparing assets for production. ### 21. It is easy to setup and start using on any project. Gulpjs has the largest community of developers, users and supporters. It has already a countless number of awesome plugins and utilities. **What do you dislike about Gulpjs?** Like many other things Gulpjs is not perfect and it does have some flaws. It relies heeavily on different plugins that other developers create rather than improving its own ecosystem and having a bunch of tools out of the box. As a result when some plugins are not supported anymore by the developers they may not work with a newer versions of Gulpjs. Consequently, you become heavily dependent on the plugin's author if you really want to continue using that specific plugin. **Recommendations to others considering Gulpjs:** Gulp is truly awesome! Just give it a go! It has already a ton of useful plugins and a really reach and brilliant community using and supporting it. A must have ultimate front-end workflow tool in my opinion. **What problems is Gulpjs solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it on daily basis at work. It is impossible to picture our project without Gulpjs in it since it takes care of pretty much anything: runs tasks for compiling and compressing scripts, css and html, runs tasks for compressing images and building sprites, sets up watchers for all the different files, triggers browsersync, moves all the files around, and much much more. Thanks a lot to Gulpjs I can be so much more efficient at my work. Instead of doing all the tasks manually and separately, now everything is all in one place and it is run simply by launching only one command from the console. ### 22. We have a rather particular server setup, and Gulp allows for this to be done with very little consideration needed. Once the orchestration is setup, there isn't much else to it. **What do you dislike about Gulpjs?** A recent major update caused some issues for us in how our current implementation was setup. We were able to make changes to accommodate it. **Recommendations to others considering Gulpjs:** Try to stay up-to-date with new versions. We allowed ourselves to fall behind, and it's caused way more work then what it should have. **What problems is Gulpjs solving and how is that benefiting you?** Gulp allows for us to start our development server, make sure the database is properly migrated, and helps to populate test data. Once we found out how to hook up Gulp task dependencies, things became much more intuitive. ### 23.
