The prices are so reasonable per year as an IIAS service. So easy to deal with the servers and everything as google managed to make the server management simple through only a few buttons

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Nothing much, really, in the beginning, I thought it might be challenging, but as soon as I had a look at the user interface of the cloud it's so simple, especially for beginners

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of renting servers and not worrying about the security, whether physical or on the website itself. As the cloud have its own firewall that protects my servers from any possible attack

  ### 30. GKE is like living in the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

GKE just makes things easy to do. While Kubernetes is great on its own, GKE completely eliminates all the infrastructure concerns and management of master nodes. We used to run our own clusters on physical hardware but after switching to GKE there is no way we would ever consider going back.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

The autopilot feature would be more useful if it could scale down below 0.25 CPUs. Also, trying to align committed use discounts with node types is challenging. I wish you could commit to CPU and RAM without worrying about how they ended up in VMs.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE):**

Consider using Autopilot if your use case can support it. Significantly simplifies infrastructure decisions. Unfortunately, our use case is more complex, so we can't use it yet but we are hoping it continues to evolve and expand.

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a complete kubernetes infrastructure as a service which frees our time to focus on application and deployment operations rather than infrastructure. We have seen improved reliability and resiliance for our K8s deployments along with a significant reduction in strange failures or performance issues. GKE just works.

  ### 31. Best of Kubernetes as compared with other cloud providers

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

As of now dint see anything which is dislikable

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hosted e-commerce application with GKE, I loved it

  ### 32. Best Kubernetes Deployment Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mani Kumar Reddy K. | Senior Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Ease of use.
It's effortless to set up my cluster using GKE. It's also a very fluent process to integrate with my build process from application to docker to registry to Kubernetes.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Inconsistency in console and shell. The Kubernetes shell offers complete functionality, but it isn't easy to understand. It is better portrayed in the cloud console, but the console lacks a lot of functionality required for GKE to function correctly.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE):**

Use GKE only if you have multiple services requiring horizontal scaling. Also, make sure you have a skilled workforce to manage it; otherwise, you're only making your work much tricky.

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're scaling out software automatically by configuring GKE to autoscale based on CPU and memory load. We're also reducing the workforce a lot by automating deployments in our build process which wouldn't be possible if not for GKE. As a side benefit, we're achieving no downtime due to rolling updates.

  ### 33. Node Cluster Management & Security Policies for Kubes - Google Cloud Anthos Config Management

It offers seamless convergence of both security and efficiency allowing me to build consistency between on-premise and cloud platforms for my organization. It gives me the convenience of quickly changing my hybrid container orchestration without worrying about the policies retention and security governance of my clusters.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Google Cloud Anthos Config Management is very useful for my business standards and can easily manage the deployed K8 clusters in multi-environmental categorizations whether it's Dev, QA, Pre-Prod or Prod. I like using it and don't have anything to say about its dislike.

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is tedious when you have multiple K8 deployments running across a diversified environment and their configurational management and standards are accurately retained by Google Cloud Anthos Config Management utility. It has a solid built-in Google Kubernetes Engine which handles the K8 control plane responsible for maintaining the infrastructure in my distributed platform, Also, it provides an excellent version control system through its centralized cluster repository so that it's very comfortable to track all the drifts of node architecture.

**What do you like best about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Unlike manual installation and support of Kubernetes cluster you can easily select needed configuration, number of nodes and their types and then simply push the button and just wait - your cluster will be ready in several minutes. It has a powerful console as well as GUI interface. GKE has native integration with load balancers and storages.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

It`s price - it could be cheaper, but nevertheless it still costs its money.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE):**

If you need to start fast with Kubernetes in the GCP Cloud, you should definitely consider this managed solution

**What do you like best about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

The thing I like the most about GKE is its ease of use. GKE provides the perfect balance between abstraction and having the ability to control some of the important Kubernetes related configurations to its users. The inbuilt cluster autoscaler, out of the box monitoring for the cluster and the ease with which you can build and attach multiple nodepools to your cluster are some of the most useful features that make GKE stand out from other managed kubernetes service providers.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Although the pros heavily outweigh the cons, the thing which GKE could improve more upon is the support and serviceability it provides to it's customers using relatively older Kuberenetes versions.

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have made our entire application stack run on Kubernetes and in all major public clouds, GCP being one of them. So we've had first hand experience in using Managed Kubernetes Services provided by all major public clouds and the ease and pace with which we were able to bring up and teardown new Kubernetes clusters using GKE during our POC was a lot compared to other clouds. We didn't have to worry about having to deploy our own cluster autoscaler as GKE provided it out of the box and for every single nodepool we had created. The cpu and memory based monitoring for pods provided by GKE helped us a lot in our POC for running our application on Kubernetes.

  ### 38. GKE is a great service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

If you have tried setting and using Kubernetes then you will know it can be handful managing it. But wth GKE we can get started in no time, Google's browser built cloud shell makes it even more easy to get started with GKE. One other feature I liked is the nodes utilization, how much CPU and memory is being used, how much is available, etc. giving good visibility into state of the cluster. On top of that if too much of the resources is not being used then GKE alerts and ask if we want o reduce the size of the cluster.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Finding logs and errors can be complex. All the logs are moved to stackdriver and I folt the logging/monitoring/error exploration has some room for improvement. If we use their web based cloud shell its great but when I tried to setup local gcloud based CLI on windows through WSL2 I had some challenges.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE):**

If you are looking container orchestration and deployment tool then GKE is one of the best option in the market. Considering Kubernete is something google had developed that makes it more better as they would understand it better. If you are looking for Hybrid model of Kubernetes then Anthos is another option to keep in mind.

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In recent project I was trying to setup multiplayer game servers using Agones framework on top of GKE. Again as I mentioned in the start its the ease of use is what makes it really beneficial.

**Reviewed by:** Raquel C. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

Ease of implementation with string integration in existing CI/CD DevOps chain. How easy it is to set up if you are not using shared VPCs. I love the fact that I don't need to directly manage the nodes in the cluster. Service discovery - The automatic DNS and service discovery makes service shipping discoveries very easy.

**What do you dislike about Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)?**

The main resources we need do not exist, depending on community support, more professional services are needed. When working with Kubernetes, you need to familiarize yourself with concepts like pods, services, and replication controllers. But the platform itself is very easy and I have no complaints.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE):**

It is a good approach to start with GKE and then expand to K8S on IaaS for hybrid cloud. Start playing with it and you will see its value. The first time with K8s can be a bit difficult, but after that everything becomes smooth. Also, try to keep versions in mind from day one.

**What problems is Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of data that has not been utilized due to not considering value addition. We are using the Kubernetes Engine in our Cloud Container Orchestration for Docker. We have a lot of data that has not been utilized due to not considering value addition. This has saved us a lot of trouble and costs with support and backup of our applications during critical downtime periods.
