## Google Firebase Test Lab Reviews
  ### 1. Lots of out of the box features to manage different web applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Navaneethakrishnan S. | Information Technology Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

Easy to scale up with appropriate backups

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

UI could be made better. Pricing information is not very clear at the start

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wide deployment of web applications

  ### 2. Very disappointed by it's limited options for testing iOS apps.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Klaas P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

It's integrated right into a firebase project, if you're creating an app with firebase I'd definitely recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

It's very limited, in the case of iOS testing you're only allowed to test using a .zip package containing a .testrunner file and the contents of the DerivedData/Build/Products directory. This is much more restrictive compared to AWS Device Farm, which has more options for how you test. Additionally it does not support Appium, though that is on the roadmap.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides physical devices for a developer to test their applications on. Allowing tests to be much more representative of what a user may experience during the usage of your application. If you plan on using firebase to develop an application I would definitely reccomend you to use it. Would however not use it as a standalone service.

  ### 3. Easy automated QA solution for android apps

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avi P. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I like the ease of use... and the device availability - literally there are thousands of different android phone models and hundreds of manufacturers accounted for.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I dislike the delay it takes from when the apk is uploaded till we get rersults. In addition to, dealing with custom UI elements and more advanced data flows. I also noticed that some devices crash when the app opens simple intents to apps such as youtube, gmail, and the play store...

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now, i dont need to provide nearly as much testing devices physically to our developer team, in addition for our QA team, they can focus on more complex flows while the firebase test runs automatically in the background

  ### 4. Amazing cloud-based app testing infrastructure Lab

I like how fast it can test android APK's and you can test it your apk's on the new Google Pixel!

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

The console, just like all Google cloud products seems to be intimidating at first. Well, it's just me.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Firebase Test Lab:**

Try it out. It's free. Get to know Google's cloud products more, soon everything will be Google.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to use a competitor, actually, they pioneered testing android apps but they kinda get more expensive now.

  ### 6. Interesting tool for website or app insights

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I am still learning how to get the most out of the tool, but I love how easy it is to quickly test on devices I wouldn't otherwise have access to. I've mostly used it for website testing from a mobile perspective, rather than for app testing.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I found it a little difficult to get started, but that's mostly because I misunderstood what kind of tool it actually is. Thankfully I had help with the setup, so we've overcome those initial issues now.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Firebase Test Lab:**

It's definitely worth trying - it could save you money in the long run. It's a no-brainer, really - there's really not a good reason NOT to use it.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great for identifying where issues exist on different devices that we don't actually own. This is important from my perspective as mobile search becomes more important.

  ### 7. Great little tool for developing apps and getting them tested.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

Ease of testing capabilities. The Robo test is a great little feature and helps us capture a lot of special cases that are the result of little subtle differences that could happen in the app. Able to let the Robo perform at its own leisure and navigate around the app doing scrolling and clicking events. We can also give it a set of instructions to follow and perform specific tasks. The videos from the tests are fantastic as we can see what happens that leads up to a crash.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

While it is easy to get a project running, there is some difficulty supporting web-based authentication on the fly.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated UI Testing. Not enough bandwidth to create full-blown UI coded tests for Android and iOS. The Robo Tests provide a decent way of getting some UI testing accomplished.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I didn't really like how closely tied into Google Cloud, the whole system was. We've had some difficulty using Google cloud before and when we saw that Firebase was coming out we had hoped that things would be different, for the most part it was.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Firebase Test Lab:**

It's really easy to learn and use. The support is very helpful and things are very intuitive.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were launching our beta app and wanted to Try out using Firebase and their Test Labs and wanted to see if it made our lives easier.

  ### 9. The best back end service solution for app development.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

The solution it provides about analytics, push notifications, storage.
The live update whenever someone makes any changes as the database is connected real time to the back end.
SDK for all popular languages.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

It gives you access to only specific parts of the app.
There is a high potential of data loss as we can accidentally delete everything while working on console.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Firebase Test Lab:**

You should give the platform a try and see if it works for you.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its real-time interaction features saves us from having to write huge parts of an app. It is definitely helping us to code things in a better way.

  ### 10. Built my first app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

there was a lot of self help and demo products to work with, Google offers space to test in and people share a lot of learning

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

This does take time, if you don't do this as your primary work or you don't have the desire to do new learning. It took time and focus to follow the different parts of the project I built. You need to integrate different components to bring it all together, very doable but complex

**Recommendations to others considering Google Firebase Test Lab:**

Give it a go. I was glad I did, this may be a new direction for me to go in my technology career

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The app I built will have a shared database so users can add items to a list everyone can see. Works with apple and android. Both had to be built but integrated easily.

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

- For iOS XCTests, Fastlane now has plugin for firebase test lab which makes it super easy to integrate into the CI/CD process.
- Just run the fastlane, it will create a connection, run the tests and produce the results. Awesome!
- Simple UI and easy to use

1. The test run itself is limited to 30 mins. That is very less. Atleast 1 hr is ideal.
2. The number of devices on free tier can be more.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Run tests for device compatibility and find bugs by running tests on real physical devices.

  ### 13. Useful tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I like that product is relatively easy to use. I like that you can set up a Robo to perform tasks and see how things would perform through out. You can also see how a crash would happen. It seems like a very useful app.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

It gets a little difficult with how closely it is run with google cloud. Sometimes google cloud gives a bit of difficulty, but besides that it’s relatively nice to use.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of UI testing. It is very easy to do, but there’s a limit with how much you can do with this software. Overall, there are more benefits thanks cons with this.

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

My favorite thing about the Test Lab is being able to run all kinds of scenarios to make sure my app's code functions correctly on all types of devices. I also like how I can weed out the possible crashes.

**What do you dislike about Google Firebase Test Lab?**

I don't dislike anything about the Test Lab itself. However, one of the downfalls is that it's easy for me to forget that GCP covers most scenarios, but it's equally important to test on real physical devices.

**What problems is Google Firebase Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the issue of needing to thoroughly test my app before I put it on the market. So far it's done an excellent job and I should be making money from my app very soon.
