It is imperative to delineate the wetlands and streams with highest bit of accuracy and DEM images are the most convenient methods to accomplish this task. **What do you dislike about Geomatica?** Nothing. It satisfied my only request to the highest quality. **Recommendations to others considering Geomatica:** More marketing techniques would be useful to implement. And in doing this it interacts with many other aspects, ways of designing and visualizing reality (such as BIM design or VR / AR technology). **What do you dislike about Geomatica?** I don't like the unexpressed potential of geomatics and the not yet fluid connection with other related technologies. **What problems is Geomatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** With geomatics it is possible to collect a large amount of data in a short time and with even millimeter accuracies, thanks to the combination of the different methods of survey and data post-processing. ### 3. The installation of Geomatica was very simple, PCI’s proprietary PCIDSK file format is useful in bringing together multi-source information about your coverage area, making it easier for you to manipulate your data for analysis and keep things organized. Software is cheaper than other software in general. The application has fast and more automation workflows. **What do you dislike about Geomatica?** To my experience, It desktop application was slow in reading huge data with regards to other RS software. **What problems is Geomatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** Used for Watershed Analysis: to identify stream networks and their watershed, trace overland path flows, and identify the minimum elevation along each drainage divide ### 4. I perform analysis on the remotely sensed images on a daily basis and PCI geomatics offers a wide variety of such analysis. **What do you dislike about Geomatica?** Incompatibility with different OS, like MacOS. ENVI on the other hand offers MacOS compatibility. **Recommendations to others considering Geomatica:** Very easy to use applications; Gives you capability to perform advanced analysis such as Machine learning supervised and unsupervised classifications. PCI Geomatica is industry leading software and world famous everywhere across the globe. **What problems is Geomatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was working on a project for analysing different images with different temporal resolutions. Had to perform supervised and unsupervised classification methods. Worked really accurate and efficiently. ### 5. Customer support is excellent **What do you dislike about Geomatica?** Not much to dislike but yes, it would help a lot if the software upgrades are notified via email. **What problems is Geomatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** Well, we do a lot of satellite image processing and find that the color balancing algorithms are one of the best in the industry. There are lot of tools to do analysis and the recent UAV processing support is a plus. ### 6. Also, an excellent tool to merge images together. I would love to work with this program more. This program has some powerful features that have many applications. **What do you dislike about Geomatica?** I was surprised of the lack of information and meta data on the tools and other settings. Also, It would be nice to have a student version at an affordable price in order to become proficient with all of the features. **Recommendations to others considering Geomatica:** Geomatica is an amazing program with many well thought out features and applications. **What problems is Geomatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** My worst problems had to do with the lack of descriptions of the tools or settings. I waste a lot of time using several in order to decide which is best to use. When time is an issue, this process is not ideal. I did appreciate the ability to delineate spectrums with fine detail. ### 21.
