The thing that really like about Gemini Code Assist is that it is feels well informed about my codebase. It is good at guessing what I am trying to accomplish in projects. It can generate full functions from comments and has helped me understand a new codebase and document code.

I also like that it has a massive context window and this really makes it suitable for long coding sessions. It integrates very well with VS Code and provides clear inline code completions which are very well integrated with the user interface.

What really bothers me the most is that despite it's larger context window. the performance degrades significantly after just a few uses, even before 80% of the context window is used. It does not support multi-file editing and sometimes the code suggestions can feel too generic especially for complex tasks and is prone to hallucinations.

Gemini code assist can be integrated with any IDE. I used with Android studio which helps me a lot to add code on the basis of current implementation. Add any plugin support like analytics and crashlytics very easily. It respond very quick. Currently it is free enough to search and start initially. It have very large support system because the product has been created by Google.
