Three things stand out: (1) the Stripe Atlas partnership pricing made it genuinely affordable for a pre-revenue startup to get a full CPA stack including R&D credit, (2) the onboarding process was thorough but never confusing — Sara was responsive and walked us through every step including the parts most founders don't think about like cap table documentation, and (3) the use of QuickBooks Online under the hood means our books stay portable, which matters to us as a fintech where compliance posture is part of our product. The pricing structure on the public pricing page versus what appears at checkout could be clearer — we initially expected one set of numbers based on the "limited time offer" framing and saw different sticker prices in the cart. The 50% Stripe Atlas discount made the net price right, but more transparent retail-vs-discounted display would reduce friction for first-time customers. Additionally, multi-user dashboard access for co-founders isn't well documented up front — we had to ask explicitly about adding our CEO to the account. Recommendations to others considering Fondo: If you're a Delaware C-Corp formed through Stripe Atlas, this is close to a no-brainer — claim the Atlas partnership discount and bundle Annual Bookkeeping + TaxPass at minimum. If you have founders on W-2 payroll, add the R&D Tax Credit Study; the math is genuinely net-positive once the credit flows back through Gusto's payroll tax offset. Before signing, ask about the R&D pricing structure (flat vs. contingent), confirm the QBO account is created in your company's name with Primary Admin access, and clarify multi-user access if you have co-founders who want dashboard visibility. Pair Fondo with a registered agent service for any state where you foreign qualify — Fondo handles tax filings but not Secretary of State paperwork. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Fondo solving and how is that benefiting you? As a pre-revenue Delaware C-Corp operating out of Nevada with two founders on payroll, we have a surprisingly complex compliance picture: federal Form 1120, Delaware Franchise Tax, R&D tax credit, and bookkeeping all need to happen on time and correctly. Fondo handles the entire stack so we can stay focused on building product instead of becoming part-time accountants. The R&D tax credit study alone is going to pay for the entire engagement multiple times over, and knowing that the Delaware Franchise Tax recalculation (Assumed Par Value vs. Authorized Shares method) is in expert hands gives us real peace of mind heading into our first filing season.
