Some blogs are super niche with large followings and corporate sponsors. The big blogs that have really high subscribers are very vauge and commercial. I was looking for subject matter experts, and that took longer than I thought it should. I wanted to find RSS feeds to read in different readers. Finding that and reading the blogs on my reader apps was a challenge. I don't want to use their interface to read blogs. Functionality also has zero customizability. For example, if I only want to see feeds from a certain folder and/or topic, there's no way. Also, when importing your own OPML file, their system doesn't skip over duplicate feeds, nor does the formatting carry over. This is only made 100x worse by the fact that there is no way to bulk select feeds to reorganize and/or delete. After importing my feeds from another app, I was left with over 400 feeds in a heaping pile of mess, when they were previously all neatly placed in folders. I was 6% of my way through painstakingly clicking one feed at a time and placing them in folders- sometimes having to scroll a mile in either direction- when I gave up. There's also a lot of off-putting ads geared towards other advertisers. **Recommendations to others considering Feedspot:** Don't import a huge amount of feeds **What problems is Feedspot solving and how is that benefiting you?** The forums don't look very active. Their help section is old and out-dated. They advertised that they have dropbox synching, what they didn't say was that it only saves articles you favorite. The syncing feature was also initially broken when I joined. The reason being the site owner didn't renew the domain or something. So I figured this was a deserted project- even though they had asked for my credit card info. A week later though, someone answered my email and fixed the problem. I suppose this would be the one benefit I realized...the site wasn't totally dead and just took off with my subscription money. ### 50.
