What I like best about Evalgent is how well it understands technical hiring for our industry. In construction, hiring the right person is critical, a small mistake in estimation or site execution can cost a lot of time and money. Evalgent helps us solve that.
We use it to create practical, scenario-based tests for site engineers, quantity surveyors, QA/QC engineers, and safety officers. Instead of just theory questions, we can test real job skills like reading drawings, calculating quantities from BOQ, preparing bar bending schedules, understanding concrete mix ratios, and safety protocols. The question library is strong, but we can also add our own custom questions based on our projects.
The reporting is another thing I really like. After a candidate finishes the test, we get a clear scorecard with strengths and weaknesses, which makes it easy to compare candidates and take decisions quickly. It also reduces bias because everyone goes through the same practical assessment.
For our HR team, it saves a lot of time. Earlier we used to do manual written tests at site office, now everything is online, proctored, and organized. Candidates can take it from anywhere and we get results instantly.
Overall, Evalgent has made our hiring process faster, more accurate, and more professional. It helps us hire engineers who have real site knowledge, not just certificates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much to dislike, the platform does its job well for our construction hiring. The only small issue is that some of the ready-made civil engineering question templates are more general, so we have to edit them to match our local codes and site practices. Also, the first time setup took a little guidance to understand how to create custom assessments. Pricing could be more flexible for small construction firms.
