When we first came in contact with Ethiack we still had an old way of looking at platform security. You perform a pen-test, document the results, process the outcomes and share the report with your users (Under NDA). This way of looking at platform security doesn't fit the actual way of working and takes a way the intrinsic motivation to offer a better secured platform. Or in other words platform security is perceived as a checkbox and not as a value-adding feature.
When we stared with Ethiack this perception changed and our development team really took the security of the platform to the next level. By getting continuous insights in combination with the yearly hacking event we improved the security of the platform, changed our one-time-a-year security event to an integrated part of our day-to-day job and we even communicated about it tour users which now perceive it as a valuable asset of platform.

Communication is key in these kind of processes and the connection between our development team and Ethiack is more reactive in nature compared to a proactive way of communication you expect. This can be improved by thinking how the hackers and the development team can establish a clear and direct communication channel and how the hackers can come to a final report in a shorter timeframe.
