We got in contact with a supplier sales representative to start getting ETAP onboarded as a supplier in our systems, we couldn't get the sales rep to help facilitate this process. We were told a very simple request was pending with ETAP's legal for months, I'm not sure if anything actually ever made it to their legal team, or if the sales rep was giving us the runaround. Very odd interaction with the company, been doing this a long time and haven't had a company unwilling to work with a customer. **What problems is ETAP solving and how is that benefiting you?** Etap did not solve any problems. ### 2. I can say that it is a software which is very easy to use and the project implementation does not take too much time. Moreover, the customer support is very fast. **What do you dislike about ETAP?** One thing which can be a area of improvement is it's cost it should be reduced and they should give promo codes to the students who can not utilize this software just because they can't afford it. **What problems is ETAP solving and how is that benefiting you?** As I do work in the industry where we add different kind of electrical loads time to time. Due to which we need to run the load flow analysis of our electrical network to keep the electrical system in order. To run the load flow analysis we use ETAP frequently. ### 3. It is observed that many companies / designers use oversized cables. ETap calculates accurate cable sizing and saves a lot money from over sizing cables. Very useful for power analysis, fault current analysis. **What do you dislike about ETAP?** It is not open sourced, quite costly. Its calculation system is very precise. It has not failed me the first time and its tools to make the designs are very good. I recommend it **What problems is ETAP solving and how is that benefiting you?** normally in my work I have to review the stations of transmission of the equipment of the company and sometimes make the designs of the new stations, to make these designs ETAP has helped me a lot, I can perform the consumption studies to calculate the bank of transformers between other things and I can carry out the study of the grounding system for the protection of the equipment. ### 13. SInce ETAP provides a GUI, it is easier to use than other power systems simulation softwares like PSSE, especially for beginners. Drawing tools are pretty intuitive as well. The short circuit analysis studies can be performed with ease and this makes protection coordination studies easy. Pretty powerful visualization tools provided. **What do you dislike about ETAP?** Documentation could be better. Online community of users is limited, making it a little difficult to figure out answers if you are stuck. I wish automating sequence of tasks could be easier. **What problems is ETAP solving and how is that benefiting you?** Short circuit and load flow analysis for protection design. Easy and quick to implement changes, modify one line diagrams etc, therefore proof of concept can be realized easily.
